Never apologize for showing affection for one another. A quick kiss like you do, is a tasteful show of affection. It shows others, especially young people, that love and respect for each other can still be as the years go by. And you two are an excellent example of that.

I have the sweetest heritage jersey that gives about a qt of cream a gallon. I too freeze as much butter as possible for when she is dry. I also make a ton of ghee. Any excess or by products go to the pigs. Nothing wasted😉. I’ve never made kefir but you’ve convinced to try it. My girl is such a blessing. I tell people that God had me in mind when He created her. Love the rain too. God bless y’all!

To be able to honestly say ‘we like each other’ especially after 17 years is a blessing; I’ve talked to so many women who say ‘ I know I love him’ but are not so sure they like him anymore and I think how does that happen? Is it respect;? You appear very respectful of each other. Is it saving a part of yourself just for each other? With all the electronics, Facebook, Twitter, etc; people seem even more distracted & disconnected, so, is it how you communicate? Happy anniversary.

I used to make a lot of yogurt, and I used the whey in my "Artisan Bread in 5 Minutes a Day" bread. What I couldn't use up, I found to make a great addition to the compost, as well as diluted for a foliar feed in the garden. Idk if there's any science there, but my plants were sure happy back then - in kinda crappy soil, even.

For the record, I do not care at all if you run over the time and keep on talking, your chats are super interesting and informative, so chat away :-) Milk must be one of the most versatile products on a farm and it always boggles my mind what one can do with it! As I am single, milk can go "off" in summer if I do not get to it quickly enough and I have often just left it out to go sour and separate, then strained off the chunks and made some cottage cheese, tastes amazing

Happy belated anniversary! I'm so interested in the kefir uses in your home. I'm going to go look for how to videos about some of this stuff. I just started making water kefir & as long as I don't second ferment too long, I love it. I left a batch to ferment a second time with grapes in it and it must've fermented into a bit of an alcoholic beverage because I had a bit of a buzz after drinking half the glass. I've stuck to just the first ferment because any alcohol makes me feel sick. Off to check out your playlists to find your kefir uses.

Hi. I’ve been going through a whole lot of your videos trying to find the answer to a question and so far haven’t been able to find it. How many months of the year does the cow not produce any milk, and do you can or dehydrate or freeze milk when she is producing to get through the times with none?
Also, you mentioned the farmer’s “cheat” cheddar that you make and inoculate with kefir rather than buying in cultures. Do you have a video on that, and if not could you please do one? I think it’s brilliant to close that loop and produce your own cultures, but would really love to see you do that farmer’s cheddar with it!

Curious about you keifer starter- I get that you continue you keifer day to day, but what did you use to start it? Are grains usually shared? Would you recommend buying a starter grain and then continuing after that? I would love to see a butter class video (or even a class!) and maybe a cheese making class. Thanks again for all you guys do for everyone, I know I love these videos.
