I’m from Canada. Just across the border in Saskatchewan. We camp down there in Spearfish and Rapid City. We love the Black Hills. We have stayed at The city campground a few times. Really like the drive through Spearfish Canyon in the summer.
We noticed this campground last year when we visit the fish hatchery. We were very surprised that it was only $10 per night in the offseason! The Black Hills area is definitely a favorite of ours...especially in the offseason with hardly anyone else camping there! Thanks for watching!
Your son is hilarious. What a great young man. Thanks for another great video. I've heard there's a state park also near Devils Tower that is also great.
Looks so pretty! I’m glad I live in a city with so many awesome trails, but I love discovering new ones! Thanks for sharing! Cool channel! I’m following!
We're headed to Custer SP this summer. Can't wait. Give you a lot of credit for being there during all that snow. Too cold, especially for Floridians, but great to experience when you have the place to yourself. $10 a night, you can't go wrong. We want to go to Devil's Tower as well. First come, first serve by Devil's Tower. Good to know. We love Utah. Safe travels. 👍#9
We heard just south of Custer got 10 more inches this week! It was awesome, but glad we bailed ahead of that weather! Those folks that live there year round are tough, thank you for watching!
Another great video, guys. Quick question. Has the influx of new RVers impacting your ability to travel as freely as you would like changed the way you plan your trips? We've been at this for a year ourselves and I've just given up trying to be spontaneous. We have four major trips planned this summer and fall, and I've booked every single day, most of them on the days when first availability is open for booking, because I don't want to leave anything to chance. Have you already booked most of your itinerary for your east coast trip? I would think ANY location on the east coast is going to be near capacity booking already. And who is the planner -- David or Erica? What resources do you use to find and research campgrounds? If Dylan hasn't seen Acadia National Park in FL yet, he might fall in love with that place as much as he loves SD. Have a safe trip back to FL. We'll be leaving for our first major trip outside the state this year at the beginning of May for five weeks. All of that is booked, too. 😀
We booked every stop from Florida to South Dakota last year and booked many stops well in advance only to change our mind and lose money for changed or cancelled reservations. Our approach this year has been to be more flexible about where we go to give us more options. We are both planners, but Erica does most of the digging to find our options, then I (David) look at the routes and we decide where we want to stay. We love our Corps of Engineers campgrounds so we use our book to look for those first, then Campendium, and Passport America to find spots. We like having a plan, with a few alternate options if needed. We aren’t big on first come, first serve campgrounds or just winging it (tune in Sunday to see why!). Thanks for watching!
