    I’m usually pretty careful about heaping praise on mums of special needs children because they are just doing what they need to do to get through each day. But this mum really is unique. She’s a mixture of tough, realistic, and deeply aware of how she needs to parent her kids. I respect and admire her a great deal, and I know I don’t have her grit to live her life.

      Perhaps I missed it but is their father in the family? Three boys is a lot of work for one person.

    I kept wondering why Jackson was repeating the word "smile" with his little grin and I just clued in it's because the camera filming the documentary and he knows cameras take pictures. That's too adorable. These boys are so sweet.

    Remarkable woman. Brings back many memories. Love the way she describes how no/unexpected noise is trouble! Autistics confuse you when they regressed to be completely non-verbal & don't even point! When they start pointing later on, autistics with intellectual disability point wrongly. Not to what they want! Must say, the Picture Exchange Communication system was a life-saver! Thank God for PECs. Without PECs = no communication + challenging behaviour/self-harm almost all day.

    I’ve got autism and I’m proud. I’m very high functioning I also suffer from ADHD and I take a highly controlled substance called adderall. Forgive me about any incorrect spellings but I also suffer from an intellectual and cognitive disability. My impairment can make it hard to understand things.

    Will an autistic person starve themselves if their routines/preferences aren't followed? Or do they give in eventually?

    • @autisticzuko2750
      @autisticzuko2750 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I did when I was younger, but it was more so a sensory related issue when it came to the food. Though I have gone three days without eating before because I didn't have what I thought we were going to.

      I used to starve a lot, but It took a pretty long time before I gave in. Cause I was hungry. So yeah was worse when I was much younger. I also have dyspraxia and forget to eat all day sometimes. Even now at the age of 27 my IHSS worker has to make me meals when I get too upset.

    Why do the most useless people require so much special attention. They'll flip out about some cookies yet they'll never work or take care of another human being or give back for all they have received. I watch these videos trying to be more empathetic to these people. Yet mostly I just end despising them in their selfish existence. I'm aware they have little to no control over this so what are you supposed to do with these people? That isn't insanely expensive or totally ruthless.

      As a social species, we take care of the ones in our group that can't take care of themselves, even if we don't get something directly in return. Not every person ought to be seen as an investment where we gauge the need for investment on some potential return.
