You see the two sides of the same ideal with this conversation and with the little hints from Magneto why they will never agree on how to approach it. Charles grew up in a affluent family and never experienced much in the way of hardship growing up, as such he always sees the good in humanity and strives to coexist since he "knows" people can prosper together. Eric grew up during one of the worst periods of human history being Jewish, he experienced the hate and raw cruelty of humanity for simply being different, as such he "knows" humanity will never coexist with people who are fundamentally different and potentially dangerous. Pretty much, people like to talk in broad strokes without nuance, like if someone says something stupid like "Winnie the Pooh is racist cause there's no black people" they think that automatically means that any discussion about inequality can't be valid regardless of how sound the logic may be, and then go on to bitch about "cancel culture" as if they themselves wouldn't wish soneone to lise their career for a controversial opinion, be it for bias, actually good reasons, or both. I think at least to a degree it's fair to say "X do this" when talking about groups of like minded people sharing the same ideas because, well, they choose to believe in and propagate that idea, but people pretty often spread responsabilities even to thise who might be of the same general allignnent but not agree in the slightest with the udeas being questioned, and also how nainstream saud ideas in those groups us also to be considered to get the full pucture. @@KindaAlwaysBluish Certainly, I understood your position and appreciated the information you provided.

Love how the "they fight to see who's the best victim" line is always gonna make one side think it's referring to the other side, making the line even more true.
It's funnier when the obviously wrong side calls out the other first.
But no, fuck nuance and just cry about everyone being the bigger victim like youre not the biggest baby yourself, and don't ever try listening others to potentially learn something out or make well reasoned and logical arguments yourself, just call everyone else evil and biased, cause that will definitely help them understand your cause...
The strongest character in this scene is Charles’s eyebrows.
Two closeted gay men discussing the gay rights movement right before revealing they're gay to each other.
Who would Dorothy be in this casé?
Probably Jonah right?
Almost like the Mutant metaphor is very applicable.
@@ChadKakashi yeah except when they make mutants actual unstable dangers to everyone who can't control their powers, which unintentionally kinda justify the anti mutant guys, then it becomes less applicable.
@@ChadKakashiNot really lmao
In thumbnail Magneto looked more like Quicksilver...
Well Magneto was his father in other iterations
Best line they even fight over who's the best victim😅
I love this scene its just them, just them, talking casually as friends with smiles on their faces both without the weight of the worlds on their shoulders.
Magneto tryna deny the existence of his kind while being undercover as one of funny to me
Why was magneto like ridiculously sexy in this
Because he is
Love their chemistry
Just some unbelievably powerful, somewhat complex bro's hanging out
Magneto predicted the future with "They even fight to see who's the best victim."
"XmEn WaS nEvEr WoKe!!!1!!1"
X-men:
Charles looking like minds isnt the only thing he wants bent around Magneto
I remember a time when all male friends weren't gay
pepperidge farm remembers
@@blackhand441 Idk wtf you're talkin about bros act gay asf around each other unless you're uncomfterable because you might be gay. It's fine that you're gay bro we all understand.
@@blackhand441 Ok but Xavier and Magneto is one of the actually implied gay relationships. with for instance Magneto taking on Xavier's last name (taking on a cover identity as Michael Xavier, Charles's "Cousin") and leading the New mutants for a time in the comics. thats just one example
if you want a friendship that isn't implied to be a gay one probably, look elsewhere in the Xmen line up. but homoerotic subtext has and always will exist in the Xmen comics. Its been implied with most of the major characters Like Storm, Kitty pryde, Rachel summers, Danny moonstar, Iceman, Northstar, I could go on forever
Next your gonna tell me Morph and Wolverine are just besties
and this isn't to say there are no straight male friendships. I mean shit as much as its heavily implied at times there aren't actually that many gay men in Marvel. Its mostly just Iceman, Wiccan and Hulkling, Northstar, and Anole. Stop acting like people shipping two characters somehow means everyone is being made gay.
@@Memelord-md5hs Everything is implied when you close your eyes to contradictory evidence (like their actual biological children, multiple female relationships and the fact that Charles went as far as to fall for someone else's wife) and only select instances from a characters decades long history that fit your viewpoint.
Also you comparing morph and Logan (which doesn't exist in the comics and was created for 97) and Charles and Eric is a leap.
Their friendship is one of the best ever. They're both right and both wrong. They are a balance to each other.
I just realized that young Magneto looks a lot like Quicksilver
Well, Erik IS Pietro's dad
I do love the control factor, one has the power to show he won't use it, the other uses it as a threat.
Xavier giving bedroom eyes
I could see them as being bi. There are subtle hints even in the original series. Very subtle but they do have more than brotherly love. There are small sparks but clearly there is so much history that neither one can face anything. But there is love there. Hell, with all they have been through as magneto tried to kill them in season 1, the fact that they worked together so perfectly in season 2 in the savage land, and x even admitted that he would never just be rid of magneto even at the chance, shows they may have once had a fling and there are still old feelings between them. Hell, the way x holds magneto in 97 while trying to help him in his head, thats not how you touch someone who’s just a friend. It’s way beyond friend zone. Hands on arms and looking straight into the eyes of the other who’s in fear and feeling lost and depends on the words coming from the other….there is more there.
Aaaah, so that's what Simon Curtis sings in "Super Psycho Love". I thought it was an eye colour, and thought that the lyrics were wrong.
Sorry, English is not my mother tongue, hope you all understand.
Professor X is hope and change for a better future. Magnito is the the cold hard reality of the world
He could've just thought that last line instead of potentially giving himself up😂
I like how even though they have conflicting ideologies they’re still best friends
Just think of how crazy it would be if Charles and Magneto had each others powers instead. Magneto’s goal would be achieved within an hour.
Profesor x looks like agent 47 if he was using 90s kingpin clothes
I swear, the cast of this show is PERFECTION
whats the shows name? would love to watch it :D
@sirmuzzelot3360 X-men '97 is on disney+. It continues the 90s series, but it's not required to enjoy the show
@@sirmuzzelot3360I would like to know the name as well
I don't see how anyone could beat these two if they were fighting together. If one doesn't get you physically the other one gets you mentally. Damn near unstoppable
This sounds exactly like it does when you are coming out to someone but want to be sure first.
Professor X Looks mad zesty
Why is Xavier sooo ZESTY?????
"metal bends to my will"
*proceeds to play a sick riff
Find someone who looks at you the way Charles looks at Eric.
This entire conversation was written amazingly
"They dont 👀"
The best part is definitely Magneto saying his power, instead of thinking about it
At the end of the day they’re both right. Too bad both of them are too short sighted to actually improve the world instead of fighting to maintain the status quo or make things 10 times worse because of their individual egos.
I’m starting to realize that the “two old men who want the same thing but can’t agree on how” trope is fairly common. X and Magneto, Doctors Light And Wily, and Optimus Prime and Megatron.
Why'd they animate this like it's two dudes flirting before a hookup?
I mean it's Magneto and Professor X so they probably are--
Truly Magnito is the very embodiment of the saying "just because your correct doesn't mean your right"
How is magneto having a casual conversation with someone he doesn’t even know is a mutant or is going to be important to his future and he is dropping some of the most heavy shit I’ve ever heard in my life
Erik:" i can manipulate magnetic fields which allow me to control metal and other things"
When you remember, Professor X has made magnito relive the hollocaust and wars
Edit : for context because magneto beat all the xmen and was about to win Xavier went into his head and forced him to remember being a kid in a concentration camp and the fighting of war that came after he had grew up
“They even fight over who’s the best victim” yeah that’s definitely real especially in 2024!
They should kiss
Hell yeah
real
This show looks so good you can't even tell these are actually 3D models.
Xavier looks drunk 😂
Well… they are in a bar
Lowkey I’d never be caught telling someone I could possibly control their mind/thoughts, seems like a sure fire way to breed paranoia and mistrust.
“They even fight over whose the best victim” exactly what magneto was doing 💀
Xavier Is right
"WhY arE hUmaNs aFraiD oF uS??" -Magneto after commiting mass terrorism and speaking race supremacist drivel on live TV for the 48472929th time this year
Xavier's methods proved impotent, and led to the very camps Magneto warned him about.
They both had their points, but both were ultimately wrong.
I love seeing these two being bros
Magneto looks like Vergil
"They even fight over who's the best victim."
Magnus giving it to us raw.
Charles lookin zesty... Does this timeline have a different cause for him being in a wheelchair? 😅
LMAO IM DECEASED 💀💀💀
“They even fight over who’s the best victim”. Hell if they were doing that in the 90s he would be truly astonished at how they act in the 2020s
Charles Xavier and Magneto could literally save the world if they became lovers again.
Where the f did you get that from this man as 3 ex
@@Rave_boss13 never heard of beards?
@@Rave_boss13I think he was just joking dude
@@williamcanales4371 Actually I'm not. X-Men is about how these two had a breakup so bad it caused a civil rights movement. Charles and Magneto dating again would end the story, but it'll never happen. It's like letting Charlie Brown kick the football.
I mean, people can be bisexual. And these two like holy shit, if the homoerotic undertones are unintentional I'd very surprised@@Rave_boss13
And Magneto was right, the government literally started working on camps and thorough genetic registries to keep track on every single mutant in the country as well as multiple weapon programs solely designed to hunt and genocide mutants.
He's the most right villain to basically ever exist.
Damn too soon to be bringing up camps don't forget that magnetos family was German and Jewish but that didn't stop the horrible things that happened the Holocaust shaped Magneto and his ideals so if anyone knows about injustice it's him...
it's magneto bringing up the camps tho, it's not too soon at all he's warning charles that people will go to that extent to get rid of people they view as lesser and dangerous
Why my boy professor look mad feminine bro🤣🤣🤦, like that smirk he does after he drinks his beer is crazy
Why is X being drawn like a queen?
what
Bro has always been zesty. The gay undertones been there for 40 years lol
Magnus saying "They" instead of "We" would've been a pretty big out of Xavier didn't already know he was 😂
Goddamn Magneto is a sympathetic and understanding character but he’s a top tier villian for a reason. I hope Disney pulls off the best version of the character whenever they decide to make him a huge part of a MCU X-men movie
Brilliant! Good stuff! Always love these 2! Such great characters with a long friendship! 😅😎👌🏻
Magneto was correct though. Professor Charles is too Naive

Love these moments between mags and Xavier, even though magneto’s view is definitely jaded he has a point.
Did they make Charles a little...
Yep
Always was. You think these two were just friends?
That's been part of the subtext for decades.
@@finn7497 there's nothing wrong with love between the same sex. but Xavier and Magnus were brothers, their bond was beyond platonic but never romantic. Both have only ever been shown to be straight, both have only ever expressed a fraternal love between each other.
