There is a 5 year restriction period. In this period, you cannot trade the shares, and no return will be distributed (basically no dividends payout in the 5 year period). Also, keep in mind the projections are showing that repayment of the debt will be reached in year 12, which leaves a question of whether divideds will be paid out or not (from the 6th year to up until the debt is settled). #I stand to be corrected.

Yes. The application has to go through review and approval process, then once you've been approved and all documents are certified will you be required to make payments. If I remember correctly, the approval takes about 24 hours.
I think the discussion should start off with wether or not the company will be in a position to pay dividends even after 5 years when they have projected to only pay off the loan by year 12
So let me get this right. 1. I invest money and you go buy barloworld property and rent it back to them - This seems like Barloworld is offloading their property. 2. I am locked into a 15 years and not 5 yrs(read the paperwork) deal with privately traded property shares? - So, the growth in my sharers is limited to the growth in the property market, the same market that's been depressed for several years. 3. The rental agreement had not been finalised, what guarantee would an investor have that Barloworld would not reduce the number of properties rented from the scheme? Ten years in property investment is small if you looking for growth. 4. I had more questions and none of the scheme's online documentation could answer or address, so I decided to put my R5000 extra cash in bonds. Let's talk about the value in 5 yrs(The scheme's supposed locked in period). Peace
