I honestly think that this is one of the best songs that Marko has ever done. The music is fantastic, and I agree that live it is going to be even more so. But, it's the lyrics that really stand out for me. They're like a glimpse inside his soul and I really admire him for stepping out and showing us what he has been going through.
Thanks a lot for another great response. Marko is such a great solo artist. I love how open he is in his work. And Yes, Marko was in the Finnish version of Beste Zangers, it's called Vain Elämää. He has some really great performances there. I especially love the song Anteeks, which talks about apologizing to an old friend.
@@TauriReacts You're welcome. Thank you very much too. 🙂 And I see that I made my favorite mistake again: Instead of 'reaction,' I wrote 'response' :-D
Yes, Marko participated in a Finnish TV show called Vain elämää, where participants perform each others’ songs. Marko’s performances were really good! My favourite was a song called Mörkö mainio. It is actually a childrens’ song originally performed by Hanna Pakarinen. Marko said he chose the song because he felt the song was actually describing him. It tells a story about a sort of a bogeyman who actually isn’t terrifying at all and just wants to sing, see the world and hug trees. Other good songs performed by Marko were 1000 ways (Waldo’s song), Olet lehdetön puu (Hector’s song) and Anteeks (Ilta’s song).
Watching you react to Marko is surreal! This passion for music, this passion for the bands that shaped your personality, showing us who the “Tauri” we see every day, at the appointed time, is today, besides being a privilege, it is an immersion with you, in the music that you present to us, like today! I am not from Europe, I am not from your generation, but when I met you and your channel, there was an immediate, very strong connection! And this has been going on for a year now! During this period I was able to listen to and enjoy the music and genre that you love again! I would never have imagined myself listening to heavy metal or symphonic! And symphonic won me over! Listening to bands like Epica, Nightwish, and their respective vocalists like Simone, Tarja, Floor, Marko, and besides them, that Ayreon show, etched the sound of Arjen Lucassen in my memory, where when I remember that reaction, his image comes to my mind, with that look thrown at the camera, gentle, sweet, and that speaks to me, every time I see him! It has been a journey listening to Charlotte, Zora, Dianne, Wardruna, Elvør, Delain, Xandria, Ankor, Gore, Ifa, Revnoir, Infect Rain, Lauren Babic, REN, Ad Infinitum, Kalanda, Tommy, Linkin Park, Starset, Vision Of Atlantis, Fleshgod Apocalypse, Falling in Reverse, Miracle of Sound, Venues, Imminence, Alex Terrible, and so many others until I got to Amira with the song Amen, a reaction where I met you and your channel! Today I want to thank you for bringing me back to life! Since this reaction to Amira, I have watched all of them until today! From the bottom of my heart! I love you passionately, for your work and your dedication! Kisses on your heart! See you later! 🥰💖🌷(English is not my official language, so I use the translator)
A trivial bit of musical-observation : I really like the bit of keyboard-chord-work that comes close to 'resolving' to use a musical term, near the end of each line in the chorus, but always veers off and leads you into the next line. For me it gives a little bit is difference from the crowd of songs that's been released in the past few months. This song just feels right, and it substitutes well for my need to punch a wall now and then. I may have to put it on my wood splitting playlist for this weekend. And I laughed too when the song came to a crashing/clunking interlude, right after the solo. The goes life, breaking a pretty plates for ya' !! I hope you get a chance to speak with Marko. Please pick his brain for songwriting inspirations and techniques... is it a random thought that pops into his head, requiring nurturing and growth to complete? Or is he ones that hears the entire songs at once? And does he create the concept first on bass, or guitar (I prefer acoustic, tho I play electric) or does he grab chords and bass patterns on a keyboard? I'm interested in understanding the process that works for him. And also.... has he ever regretted writing in a vocal line that he knew would be hard to sing, much later in his musical career. Singing at the edge of one's ability is fun when you are young... finding the same thing that is beyond your reach a few decades later?... not so much. As always, I enjoy your work, Tauri. Hugs to your husband, friends and family.
Marko is a genius. His solo songs and collaborations are just amazing.
My eyes light up everytime I see something new from or with Marko 🤘
