The language part: They were singing in their native languages - Patty in German and Marko in Finnish. Patty's new video album, with several guests, is superb. Its called "Tavern" and this is from it. Patty's instrument is a Hurdy-Gurdy; its where she gets her stage name. Her real surname is Buchler.
Marko was on tour in South America in the fall of 2023 with Anneke van Giersbergen, who is considered the god-mother of female fronted symphonic metal in the Netherlands. She was the great inspiration for singers like Floor Jansen, Simone Simons and Sharon den Andel.
It`s very rare that I leave a comment and it`s the only way I can communicate with anyone on line. The instrument is called a hurdy-gurdy. I`m a huge NW fan and so is Patty. She actually does a couple of NW covers. I`m also reaching out because I cared for my daughter for 22yrs who was handycapped. Remember there`s always somebody worst off out there.
If I'm not entirely mistaken Patricia ("Patty") was also a student of Floor Jansen when she was still teaching - but that's the Euro metal and folk "scene": everyone is connected to everyone else in one way or another🧐😆. Best regards Raoul G. Kunz
Marko has been and continues to be busy. He was touring with Tarja Turunen( original singer and co-founder of Nightwish), check out his song "Left on Mars" ft Tarja. He has also released the song "Frankenstein's Wife" as well as singing with the band Exit Eden's "Run"
Nice reaction, thx from a Patty-Fan. 🙂 To add: Patty is an independent musician from Germany and has also (besides music, vlogs etc) made a couple of videos in which she explains her hurdy-gurdy. You can find them on her YT-channel. Maybe also interesting for you are her covers of "Over the hills and far away" (only acoustic instruments: hurdy-gurdy, Cello, drums) and "Last ride of the day" (hurdy-gurdy and tenor-nyckelharpa, both played by her). Languages: Patty is German, Marko is from Finland. I steal and put together the words from some earlier commentators (other videos), as I don't speak finnish. Patty (German) "Ich bin bei dir" (I'm with you) - Marko (Finnish) "En lähde mä pois (I'm not leaving) - Patty: "Bitte glaub mir" (Please believe me) - Marko: "Jotta yksin et ois" (So that you are not alone). BTW this is the third single of her new album "Tavern".
I just caught you. I kind of think it's funny a lot more are reacting because of Marco. I'm much older than everyone. When I studied Classical music in 1976 in college I loved the Romantic pierod. In modern music Ifeel that strife and pain is a part of life and the anguish I hear in music moves me. Patty wrote tavern songs and it turned into a movie. I cannot preorder the DVD and CD in the States yet. There are 2 more released. The second was with 2 women with Patty. Besides their voices a fiddle, Irish pipes, and Gurdy are beautiful together. I feel that Patty's voice has leveled up since her friendship with Noa Gruman from Scardust. Checkout Concrete Cages with Patty. Scardust just released You are my Haven excuse if I got it title. Having Oldman brain fart. Very emotional and if you like complex music it's a must hear and see. Really liked your reaction. Maybe where you least expect it, you'll find that special person. Peace. Stay safe. God Speed. 🍻❤️🤘

Without His words I would be a ship without a rudder. We all need a friend Who will stand with us through pain and victory. May Yahuah give you peace and strength.
Marko is currently on a world tour, he's been back for a while. A new album will also be released in February. Here's a fan cam where Marco is playing a new song. Patty happens to be there too, just instrumental. She's currently on tour with Alestorm, which is why I'm surprised. But she lives nearby: Marko Hietala Feat Patty Gurdy - Rebel Of The North [Live at Matrix, Bochum, 2024.09.18] The hurdy-gurdy originated in the Middle Ages. In the 8th century, the Arabs conquered Spain and brought the string instruments to Europe. During the reconquest, the Spaniards replaced the bow with a disc that was turned with a crank. This made a permanent sound possible. It then spread across Europe in various versions. The most popular today comes from 18th century France, has drone and snare strings and is also used by Patty. Patty can explain to you how it works: How EXACTLY does the hurdy gurdy work? Patty Gurdy aka Patricia Büchler is often mistaken for an Irish woman, but she is actually German. She first appeared with the pirate metal band Storm Seeker. Because she was more successful solo than the band, they broke up. Since then she has been playing Celtic pop, but actually nothing is safe from her. She became famous with her collaborations: Patty Gurdy - "Run" Live @WGT2022 ALESTORM ft. PATTY GURDY - Voyage Of The Dead Marauder (Official Video) | Napalm Records SCARDUST feat. PATTY GURDY - "CONCRETE CAGES" (Official Music Video) Patty Gurdy feat. Fiddler's Green - The Yule Fiddler (Christmas Time Is Coming 'Round Today)
A Hurdy -Gurdy can be compared to a Hardanger fiddle. it has melody strings and drone strings. Instead of a bow that strikes the strings a wheel is used turned with a crank. The melody strings have little plugs that shorten the strings and are operated by keys on the board. The presence of the drones really limits the keys that a song can switch to while playing, similar as bagpipes. Patty is good, very good. She is beginning to work with great musicians, but here is the duet she sings with.... th-cam.com/video/JA1eaCDqImM/w-d-xo.htmlsi=JiheTugsl2nVkCZ1
@@TheMateriaalkunde I wouldn't compare it to a Hardanger fiddle because the Hardanger fiddle didn't exist in the Middle Ages and is just a fiddle. It remained a Norwegian specialty. If you're looking for a similar instrument, then it's the Nyckelharpa. This was created in the Middle Ages and, like the hurdy-gurdy, has a mechanism: Scandinavian folk on Nyckelharpa by Myrkur

Thanks I knew that the one was German but I didn't know what the other one was. Thanks for the information. Love ❤️

Thx for the info. I'll look into everything. Given up on finding anyone, but thx for the hope. Love ❤️
The instrument Patty plays is a Hurdy Gurdy and they sang in german and i presume in finnish
Thank you so much for the information. I love that instrument and hope to see it more in the future. Love.❤️
