How to play Debussy Clair de lune without difficult parts and still sound natural

  • Of course, it is best to play the entire piece. But, if you want to play this piece, but are hesitating because of some difficult parts, I encourage you to still try to play the piece with this easier version that still sounds good. I think It is still better to be able to enjoy great music even though it is not the ideal way, rather than giving up entirely.

    This video brought me a few memories. A long time ago, I learned to play this masterpiece but only the beggining and the last part (how showed in this video), because I wasn't good enough for being able to play well the middle section. It's a shame that I forgot how to play the whole piece. I promise to myself that I'll learn again this piece later. And the whole piece.

      You should learn and play it again! It will be much better in many ways when you bring the old piece back. Please let me know any difficulties that you encounter if you decide to play it again!

    Amazing! Also, could you please compose a Fiddler on the Roof or Wicked medley? That would be awesome to hear by you!

    Hey, it's nice to know how to play such a beautiful piece simple... Thank you👍🏼. I'd like to know, if it is possible to play Rachmainoffs Piano Concerto No.2 in C minor with 4 Hands. I think it would sound epic🙈👋

      Thank you for your comments! :) At least for me, it might be a little bit tricky to make it into 1 piano 4 hands..Usually pianists play 2 piano 4 hands version, which is of course not as good as orchestral accompaniment, but still not bad, when they cannot play with the orchestra. But thanks for the idea!

    The difficult parts aren’t actually that difficult if you try and learn them. People just want to play them so fast that it makes it harder than it actually should be. There’s a few difficult measures (like the “peak” of the song where chords descend the piano) but they are a decent challenge

      True. It can be tricky but definitely possible if practiced properly for enough time.

    Do you have anything like sort of a practicing schedule?

    • @PianoSandbox
      @PianoSandbox  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sorry for the late reply.. Yes, I do! It would be nice if I can make this into a video in the future, but for now, in short:
      I like to have 90-120 minutes as a one practice session if my schedule allows. I spend 30 minutes warming up with etudes and a few difficult parts in the repertoire, and practice the main piece for 45 minutes or an hour, and second piece for 30 minutes. If you have time and energy at the end of the day, it is always very beneficial to sight-read a new music that you want to learn in the future. Hope this is helpful for you!

      @@PianoSandbox Hey I tried to reach out to you because I want you guys to play this evangelion anime piano song (the sheet music is ready at the end of the comment) named "Quatre Mains (à quatre mains) =3EM16="(on youtube) which is specifically for four hands, it would be bloody epic AND it would have a ton of views considering the last eva movie was like a month ago and has still not been released in the west. So far there's only one video cover of this song, and the audio quality in it is not that good (imo). You can find the piano sheets if you look up on youtube "EVANGELION 3.0 - Quatre Mains duet sheet music", search up the video that has that EXACT name and there's gonna be a link in the description with the sheet music. For now the sheet is absolutely free (and not a virus, I downloaded it myself lol). PLEASE that video would be bloody fantastic, just like the rest of your videos. Love from Chile, I love ur videos!
