I think the only reason Dee Jay isn't a member is because he's on tour with Hamilton. He really is amazing, but I know I wouldn't give Ceasar up for anything. Still, I wish there was a way to have Ceasar, Dee Jay, and J None! They all bring something to the party. There are several videos with Dee Jay being featured though, so you have lots still to enjoy of him.

DeeJay brings something very special to the group when he guests with them. He can't join as he has other commitments but see him also in Man in The Mirror, You're My Best Friend, the Chipmunk Song, Butter, In My Room, and this one. Also some shorts and minis. I think that's it. :) Geoff 's voice is velvet and J.None's is silk.
I feel like this is definitely one of Voiceplay's underrated songs, it deserves so much more hype than it gets. It is just a great cover of an already amazing song but they just made it 100000000000% better. I love it so much and it makes me happy when it comes up on my playlist. Great reaction. 🙂 Everyone who collaborates with VP seems to fit perfectly. I think on every collab. I've seen at least one person says "they have to be made a permanent member!" I don't know what it is that makes everyone seem perfect, whether it's VP picking people to fit their vision of a song or whether it's VP crafting a version of a song to fit the person they want to work with, but whichever it is it certainly works!! DeeJay has worked with them on a few numbers now but I think he has commitments elsewhere. I know he's involved in the show Hamilton - there's a reference to it in the VP Christmas offering "The Chipmunk Song" where they've added some of their own lyrics. He joins them on "In My Room" as well, which is a lovely version of that song.
Another banger! Wow! DeeJay has a wonderful voice to be sure. Another song that he did with them is their version of "In my room". They did a very different version of it then Tim Foust did. I love both versions because they are so different, they don't compete with each other. These guys are just like no one else and I love it!
I love the original but this is hands down a better version. The thing with Voiceplay is they choose their collaborators so well & arrange the song to suit them perfectly & somebody will want them to be a permanent member. That would make VP about 25 strong at this point!! Deejay tours with Hamilton a lot of the time, he does have an incredible voice & style with a cheekiness that sneaks in.

This was the first time they had really done something in this sort of genre and I think it was a real turning point for them with their sound and arrangements. This one will always be in my top 5 from them! I mean, three-part harmonized upward riffing after a 3(4?) octave decent from Geoff?? Not to mention Geoff and Layne just killing the rhythm section!

DeeJay is currently touring with Hamilton as a standby understudy and the show that I got to see last night he played James Madison! He is equally incredible and hilarious live in the show as he is when he's hanging with voiceplay.
Deejay is an incredible artist in his own right. His song Box is amazing. Right now he has been touring with the Angelica tour of Hamilton and has played mostly Aaron Burr I believe (don't quote me on that!) As much as I love Eli, when you called him the King of runs in a previous reaction i knew i had to send you in the direction of a Deejay Young collab. This is one of my favourites but, because it is simpler than the others i like (the video, not the technicalities) I thought this was the best intro...💗 Thank you for reacting to this song and I am so glad you enjoyed it. The premiere was a fun touch and i hope we get more members for the #DJAntlers #HerdMind from this. 💗

I know some people are *assuming* VoicePlay is “holding” their fifth spot for J, but that’s straight up wishful thinking on their part. VP sure as heck didn’t say that. 2) re:Signing DeeJay. They tried. The catch was he had literally just signed with Hamilton and he couldn’t enter a second contract while under the first. Which also suggests to me that they are not “holding” a spot for J to return full time. If anything, I’d suspect more they’d be holding it for DeeJay to finish his run with Hamilton. Particularly since he’s in the group picture on their TH-cam and FB.
