    Hey how do you do this on the drivers side with the hood latch

  • @DaytonCarCare

    The A4 is probably one of the easiest cars to remove the interior. I am swapping almost a whole interior from another car. Seats, glove box, knee bolster, door panels/speakers, pillar/sill panels, center console, rear deck and steering wheel. You can knock this out in an afternoon no problem. Keep in mind if you're upgrading from manual seat with power lumbar to full power seat you'll have to change the fuse to a higher amperage (10 to 30). The passenger seat fuse under the kick panel and the driver's is under the knee bolster.

      Hey, great post. Yes, the B6 and B7 A4 platform is really nice to work on compared to others. Audi are generally pretty good compared to some other makes, but even some Audi are not quite so nice to work on. The A4 platform is very well designed, and pretty much everything fits together in a logical way.
      Yes, great seat upgrade opportunity. If you have manual A4 seats, then S4 Recaro's make a great upgrade as they are sensible money and fully electric. As mentioned here, you'll need to upgrade the fuse 10amp>30amp but once done you have full electric seats! Just make sure your old manual seats have an electric lumbar support (90%+ do!)

      Yeah the only thing that was kind of fiddly was the B pillar cover over the seat belt. And the rear seat upper side panel needs a tubular spanner wrench to get the pole off that latches the pivoting seat.

    • @TotalTechnik
      @TotalTechnik  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, the B pillar is the worst pillar by far. How did you find out about the tube spanner trick ;-)

      Only thing that would logically work since a regular deep socket is too thick walled

      @@DaytonCarCare : I'm struggling right now with a wet carpet emergency, and trying to remove the plastic trim at the rear of the driver's side door on an Audi S4 Convertible 2005 model and the corresponding plastic that will allow access to the pull up the carpet in the rear passenger footwell. I can't seem to get this plastic off. And that carpet is really stuck down tight. It's sopping wet under there. I have the driver's seat out, thanks to you Total Tecnik - and your wisdom in passing on the M10 spline bit which I was able to obtain, and the front carpet partially pulled up and the CCM exposed and open but have taken a break to try to figure out how to fiddle the clamps out. I think I can figure out how to undo the clamps with some more close inspection, but this rear carpet is killing me! Any tips would be appreciated and I can patreon.

    Hi Total Technik love the DIY videos. Quick question about the front door harnesses. Is there any access to the connector on the body side (not the door side that plugs in, talking about female connector) as the connector has come loose from its original position, and needs to be locked back in place. I need to get at the connector from the inside of the vehicle (Drivers side) and have had difficult time locating it. Wondering if it's under this from although it seems higher up in door jam area. Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Door will also probably have to come off as access is extremely tight. Thanks so much!!!

    • @TotalTechnik
      @TotalTechnik  8 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Yes, it is under the left side front passenger carpet. You can remove the trim in this video and then carefully fold the carpet back. You will find the comfort control ECU within the black box beneath the carpet.
      Best of luck!

    Thank you for posting this tutorial. By closely following your instruction (wiggle, not pull), I successfully removed my footwell pillar trim to access my TCM and electrical harness.
    Will you be posting how to remove/replace windshield cowl?

      Great stuff, that's what we like to hear!
      Yes, we probably will do a video on the windscreen cowl. They can bit a bit of a pain on the B6/B7 TBH. But a little patience goes a long way with them :-)

    How do u remove the panel u Call b?

    • @TotalTechnik
      @TotalTechnik  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey there! The lower plastic B panel trim is a proper pain, not in itself, but you have to remove the upper trim first. It's quite involved to remove just that trim! This trailer may give you some assistance: th-cam.com/video/e1Kqzrtcyd0/w-d-xo.html

      Hey there. I can't remember without looking, but can you access that 'tube' from either end? i.e. from the front corner of the footwell, or from the bottom of the B pillar? If so, you could get a magnetic tool in there (may need to be a flexible one) and try and get it that way. But can't remember if the end's of that 'tube' are open or closed. But that would be my first thought.
      Second thought, if that tube is sealed on both ends that it's not coming out that way! It depends on how desperate you are to get it out. You could try to locate wherethe clip is, and drill a hole in the top of the tube (which will be covered by the plastic trim so you will never see it) and retrieve it that way. An ugly solution, but gets the job done.
      Best of luck

    • @TotalTechnik
      @TotalTechnik  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey there
      Yes, we have already filmed this actually. It will be uploaded over the next few weeks.
      Please support us and subscribe, then you will receive an automated message whenever we upload a new video.
      The lower B pillar trim actually lifts straight up - but it is a bit fiddly the first couple of times you do it. You need to remove in this video as it passes through one side of the B pillar trim. On the other side (rear door frame) of the B pillar the B pillar thim passes through the other lower trim, so it moves straight up and out.
      Good luck!
