He's using a $350 pipe catch that auto locks and a $2 fitting to raise the pipe lol. This fitting works but with a lot of weight it may crush the pipe due to the way it binds. You could also make something similar with a torch and a flat piece of metal or use a simple pipe hitch knot with some rope.
Slip ring , i use one to retain a steel casing pipe with a diameter of 165mm. In this film a second one could be used to prevent the pipe from falling back in the well or drilled hole. A double chain sling works great too.
Good idea but a more universal alternative I would propose would be to use a rope to tie a pipe hitch to your pipe - it will grip onto a pipe of any diameter and it can also be readjusted as you pull up more pipe. Plus you probably already have rope lying around.
Pretty poor description of the pipe fitting. I have never seen a fitting like that at the plumbing supply. How do you seal the top of that well to keep it clean?
Well let the dascription trigger the imagination... it's something round with 4 bolt holes and a large treaded hole in the middle and found at the hardware store and if you don't use it for this project you can use two with a pipe between to hang your clothes on...And always if... you have a well and mess with it you use chlorine tabs or bleach when your done!!!!
After the video was made I also cut a section of the flange to allow it to go on the pipe from the side. It was still strong enough to work to pull the pipe
This is what happens when you have no clue what the fuck your doing!!! I've been in the well industry all my life ,3 rd gen im 44 and this is just crazy
Thanks for sharing. I have had the same pump on my well for 20 years. Has to be about time.
Thank You! I made a device like that today. I don't know where you purchased it so I made one.
Can you explain the green device holding pipe, and a bit better explanation on how you made that metal puller? Tks

It's a steel wall flange
Cool 🆒
Would it be strong enough to work on 1.25 inch galvanized pipes?
It should be able to grab galvanized pipe. I don't think it would grip plane steel but it might
will try this in russian well lol
