After I listened to the new CD ZUN released this winter and listened to the Immemorial Marketeers track on it, I ended up falling in love with this song. He only made some minor changes/ add ons, but it left enough of an impression on me that I wanted to take elements from it and some ideas I had about making the song more powerful. I like how it turned out honestly, hope you guys enjoy it too!

So far this version and Paradise of Boundaries' TH15 style version have made me appreciate the original.
I'm not sure why, but my brain couldn't quite process the original correctly. Like ZUN has a few formulas he commonly uses for songs and I usually anticipate those, but this theme didn't seem to follow any of them in my head and I just felt the original theme was confusing.
I love this take on the theme! It makes the exciting bits stand out, the same way most of ZUN's final boss themes do.

Yeah the CDs version definitely made me appreciate the theme more. Wasn't a huge fan of it on release.

As someone who loves this theme and has been thinking about it for a very long time, I think that is this songs biggest con for better or worse. It's a great final boss theme on paper, but _that_ makes it so in practice it just makes you go "uhhh ok...i guess i beat touhou 18...?" instead of any kind of thrill literally all the others, even the even calmer Miko's theme, give. I really love how you phrased it here actually: the exciting bits don't stand out.

I liked that, I'm glad you fell in love with the theme (you had said before that it's not that captivating, you seemed to like it very little). Good arrangement.
I also felt that the arrangement of Chimata's theme looks great on the CD. Even though the additions and changes were few, the arrangement really conveys much more strength and power than the original.

I was told twice in one day that apparently ZUN released a new CD months ago.

It was a month ago. He released it with only 3 tracks, first one was a new original song, the second one was an Illusionary White Traveler mix, and the last was an Immemorial Marketeers mix. It’s difficult to find actually almost impossible because for seemingly the first time ZUN is striking down videos that upload the track.

I very much like this arrange, and I do think it's kind of funny how this theme seems to have to grow on most people first, I've heard that from several people already.
Actually, it was the same for me, I thought it to be underwhelming when I first encountered it, but then I just started liking it more and more.
