    Extremely WELL BUILT home. No way it's replacement will come close to the sturdy levels of construction used here.

    Cats, demolition, cats, demolition, cats, demolition . . . the only two things I look at on TH-cam.
    Now if only I could find videos of cats demolishing buildings I could die happy. And In my dreams they're operating Bobcats.

    Best operator I’ve seen yet.take it from a 73 year heavy machine heavy machine operator. Love the way you stripped off the tiles.and this with a small machine too.👍

    Why are so many people saying this is a waste? Sorry but that looks like a 100 year old, freezing cold, damp, mouldy, miserable old nightmare of a house! Old UK house I'm guessing? We have the same old things in NZ in the original suburbs of towns. They are an embarrassment and they all need the excavator treatment. I think the right decision was made to build new. They will be much happier in a new house. Not to mention warmer and healthier.
    Lastly, no offence but that excavator belongs in a sand pit lol, bring in the 12 ton for demolition, but I suppose at the end of the day, it got the job done!
    Liked the video all the same!

      @grizzly9871  10 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yeah I agree with your comment about the house.......no offence taken about the digger,but the video does show what can be done with a 5 ton machine with a good operator at the controls.

    This "armchair operator" has over 5000 hours on excavators. I agree with you for this purpose a 360 would be great. I put a thumb on my machine as money is a little tight and a 360 is heavy and expensive. I also do many more jobs than just demolition. The thumb works great for crushing debris like lumber, plywood, branches, and concrete. The more compacted the debris the less loads to the landfill which saves time.

    The trouble with wood nowadays is, it usually travels as deck cargo, then they sling it in a drier to get the moisture out, get it bone dry, whip it out so as it soaks up all the damp in the atmosphere, then everyone wonders why it 'twists', - give me old wood any day.

      It's a 1950/60's build,so not very new,it was demolished to make way for a new build...something more energy efficient and more than likely less damp as well.

    You've gotta love how all these armchair operators think a thumb is the best thing for demolition. I'd say get a 360 grab it's much better for picking and sorting and you can manipulate awkward objects far better than a thumb.

    Surely some of that was re-useable - even if only the tiles, hips etc. and possibly rafters. Surely with the number of houses like that on the IoW there would have been a market for those at least - decent 9x2 is not easy to find today - the stuff in B & Q is rubbish for the price, talk about rough sawn - yes it is very rough. Did you build just one house on the site - it looked big enough for 2 to me.?

    • @grizzly9871
      @grizzly9871  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Can't remember if there was two or one big house built on site as had nothing to do with build,on the subject of wood years ago I got some 4x2 rails that were taken down when a picket fence was replaced,they are still solid and the new 4x2's have rotted,the wood you buy today doesn't seem as good as wood from years ago.
