that's the point with Caitlin Clark. Her style of play is entertaining. I don't care about quadruple doubles or whatever. She's fast, the defenses don't know how to deal with her tempo and it's fun to watch her carve them up. The assists she dishes are like the Showtime Lakers of the 80s. Entertaining. Who gives an F about the stats, but she ends up loading up on the stats anyways because she's affecting every part of the game. I love it. And I've never watched a single WNBA game before CC came along. The highlights always looked pedestrian compared to the men's game. Not CC though, she's magic.

Great video, I am a huge Caitlin Clark fan. I am 43 years old and never watched the WNBA game until CC started playing. I think CC is absolutely the greatest woman’s basketball player of all time. (GOAT). CC gets blitzed every game, all WNBA teams focus their defense on stopping her, and she still manages to almost average a triple double. I started to follow CC this year at Iowa straight into the WNBA and I can’t believe how great of a passer she is. CC also has the same birthday 🎂 as me January 22, so that also gives me another reason to follow her game. ROTY in my opinion, unless the media tries to stop 🛑 CC from getting the award 🥇 Hope she makes Olympic Team, and I really hope at the WNBA All Star Game CC doesn’t get freeze 🥶 out like Isiah Thomas did to MJ!! 😊

The offense should always go through CC like it did at Iowa, but coach Sides often gives control to others - or they take it upon themselves. There’s no leadership with Sides. But here’s a rule that she could easily enforce: when CC asks for the ball, pass her the ball. Or be benched. There’s a lot of film of Mitchell seeing CC open and ignoring her, or waving her off - even when CC’s hands are up, asking for the ball. That behavior can easily be coached and corrected. Doing so would result in more wins.
Caitlin Clark is not getting the respect she deserves. Give it time.

Coach Sides tries to mold CC to play in a traditional WNBA way rather than design plays in a way of playing that suits. Caitlyn's skill. Granted in the Fever wins against good teams, they had a certain amount of luck. They almost lost to the injury ridden Phoenix.
Having said that the Fever still leaves a lot of points by missing easy lay ups. The Fever need to play fast pace with players who can run and catch CC passes and play defense. This type of play is what gives them a chance to win. Play up tempo and use players who can run. Use the lineup that they had to beat the New York team. Wheeler is an okay player, but she can't be on the court with CC. She can't play up tempo. Hull or Grace should be the guard substitute. Hull.should play a lot she fits with Cc's running style play Mitchell, Boston, Smith, Samuelson, Hull, Burger and even Febanelli & CC (Dantes if she gets more motivation) if you can sign a free agent who can run and shoot. They need practice of fundamentals - screening, passing, pick and rolls and just getting in physical condition to run.
The Fever need to play defense and run run and gun if they want to continue to win.

The problem with everyone who only want to bring up the turnovers is they don't paint the entire picture. How many passes has she thrown that hit someone right in the hands and they didn't catch it. The other big thing they don't talk about his how many turnovers she had through the first 20ish games compared to how much they are down over the last 10ish. Early in the year I was someone who was very concerned about her turnover numbers. Once the team got in sync and she cut it down to 5-6 a game I am fine with it... If she is giving the team 10+ assist every game I can live with 5 turnovers.

Caitlin is smart(court vision) and is an exceptional natural athlete(coordination and timing). Also, winning is everything. She needs to focus on defense.
When Larry Bird was a rookie in the NBA he won rookie of the year over Magic Johnson quite easily and they both had great individual numbers, but the impact they had on their teams was what was the deciding factor and Bird improved the Celtics by more than double the wins from their previous season. It is not just individual stats that determine ROTY, but the overall impact they have on improving the team. Reese has to help Chicago win 9 more games just for them to equal the same record they had last year and Chicago made the playoffs last year. Right now they are in the last playoff spot and have to win 50% of their final games to equal the same result as last season. Indiana finished next to last in the league in 2023 at 13 - 27 so Caitlin has to lead them to 3 more wins in the next 16 games to equal last years record and every win after that is a bonus and currently Indiana is in the number 7 spot for the playoffs. If Indiana goes 10 - 6 in the final 6 games they would end the season at a 500 record and would certainly be in the playoffs. Chicago would have to go 11 - 7 to do the same thing. I guarantee that if all Chicago and Reese are concerned about is continuing her "double double" streak they will not get 11 wins and will be lucky to get 9 wins and equal last years record and if that is all they achieve with Reese on their team she has absolutely ZERO claim to ROTY because she will have brought NOTHING to or improved the team over last season.
But the Celtics sucked the year before Bird arrived. They had Dave Cowens, all 6’9” of him, at center. The Lakers had Kareem Abdul Jabbar at center, then well on his way to being the top,scorer in the game.

Clark commits T/O’s but her assist to turnover ratio is still spectacular. She is guarded from the inbounds pass physically with the refs calling almost nothing as if to prove some point. Clark has more T/O’s from fumbled passes that should have been lay-ups than Reese has put backs from her own misses, and that’s a lot folks.

People supporting Reese’s campaign for ROTY do Reese a disservice by telling us her points/rebounds double/doubles are comparative to CC because of CC’s turnovers. Because now CC is living rent free in AR’s mind, & she’s hunting stats. She’s among the taller players and hunts rebounds. This points/rebounds bias reminds me of baseball fans over-valuing .300 hitters or 20-game winning pitchers. The Fever are so bad. Everyone outside of Boston tries to do too much. Mitchell had a lot of points against Phx. I just watched the full game highlights specifically to see Copper’s 4th. What I saw was Mitchell had more open looks than anyone because of CC running the offense. She should have had close to 40.

This is why I used to listen to Colin because he was honest about bs like this. It’s just a shame. It only comes after him doing a 180 because he looks like a fool, trying to argue Reese for roty. It would be fine if someone really felt that way and was making good faith rational arguments, but that just not the case.

Clark is literally putting the Fever in playoff contention. If it wasn't for that clown coach and Wheeler, literally screwing games in the 4th quarter, the Fever would be 3, maybe 4 games over 500, and in 3rd place in the East

Not all turnovers lead to points for the other team. But all assists lead to points for the passer's team.
As long as she is getting a 2 to 1 assist to turnover ratio it isn’t a big deal. She has been doing that the last 10 or 11 games. Then you add on the points, steals, blocks and turnovers don’t matter.
CC leads the league in Most Points Scored or Assisted On. Not just rookies. She is the most productive player despite the turnovers. She is top 20 in Points, rebounds, assists, steals and blocks.
She’s a beast!
I have been saying since the beginning my GIRL CC is just at a higher level and when a player is that extraordinary at the game it's impossible not to find HATERS and they do HATE my GIRL CC I LOVE HER ❤😂
