He’s absolutely right and doing the right thing by trying to teach them. My Mom and stepdad were self employed and he handled everything. She worked alongside him in the business but she didn’t know anything about finances and she didn’t have any business sense. She was used to my stepdad handling everything and he passed away from lung cancer. She closed the business (it made them a good living at that time) and sold their commercial property that produced income. Long story short, she kept living as she was used to and spending money but wasn’t bringing in an income anymore. She also listened to the wrong people, let herself get taken advantage of by vulture family members who didn’t work, and who also had no business sense. She pi$$ed it away because she did not understand basic business, etc. No matter how much someone may be set, or their income level, they have to understand and know how to manage their finances and what it takes to support themselves. Kudos and great respect for Ben teaching them. I hope they truly learn from him and take his teachings and why he is doing this seriously. But most of all, I hope he’s here another 40 years!

He’s absolutely right and doing the right thing by trying to teach them. My Mom and stepdad were self employed and he handled everything. She worked alongside him in the business but she didn’t know anything about finances and she didn’t have any business sense. She was used to my stepdad handling everything and he passed away from lung cancer. She closed the business (it made them a good living at that time) and sold their commercial property that produced income. Long story short, she kept living as she was used to and spending money but wasn’t bringing in an income anymore. She also listened to the wrong people, let herself get taken advantage of by vulture family members who didn’t work, and who also had no business sense. She pi$$ed it away because she did not understand basic business, etc. No matter how much someone may be set, or their income level, they have to understand and know how to manage their finances and what it takes to support themselves. Kudos and great respect for Ben teaching them. I hope they truly learn from him and take his teachings and why he is doing this seriously. But most of all, I hope he’s here another 40 years!

@@Globbs No, the checks don’t just disappear after 75k. You get the full amount if you’re a married couple making under 150k (wife doesn’t work), plus more for every child (he has 3). After 150k, you still get some money but not the full amount, it gradually fizzles out. He got a small check. And you have a misconception of how business works. Personal income is derived from the business. The business itself just had a lot of “expenses” that year which reduces its net income. He receives the net income as his personal income.
You can pay yourself 12 bucks an hour, from your own buisness...get a stimulus for you as an employee and get ppp
