I would like to buy ZX4RR for its colour, looks, less weight and practicality of usage. However with same price tag, many people suggests me to buy Z900 which is also a good bike ( but it weighs more, and seat height is little more to me). So, considering the resale value and attracting less buyers, am worried to buy ZX4RR and planning to go with Z900. What would you suggest and what is your opinion on this ?
Hey, as the owner of zx4r and have ridden z900 in the past these are my opinions. Firstly, I am the type of rider who doesn't care much about the specs of a bikes, the power, torque, price, resale value, features etc. I go for a bike based on its character, how well it handles itself, how well it connects with the rider, the quality n build, the rider engagement, the sound, the amount of fun you can have with it. If you are someone who is only into specs I'd say go for z900. I will give a comparison based on the type of rider I am and this is completely subjective. 1. ENGINE HEAT : z900 having an almost 1000cc engine, will generate a lot of engine heat. In places like blr/hyd. you'll not be able to ride this during peak summers or any hot day. zx4r on the other hand being a 400cc, you;'ll still feel the heat but it's very minimal. You can ride this whenever you want. 2. POWER : z900 has a hell lot of power. Its pretty much unusable in indian conditions. zx4r or be it any 400cc bike has all the power you'll ever need without the risk of killing youself. 3. HANDLING : z900 is heavier(212kgs), larger rear tyre (180), wheelbase(1455 ) is more. zx4r is lighter(189kgs), smaller tyre (160), wheelbase(1380) is lesser. As a result zx4r is so much more easier to maneuver which makes it more fun to ride. It's a very nimble bike. I find this bike to be more nimble than my R3. 4. RIDER TRIANGLE : z900 is a naked. zx4r is sporty. for my height i prefer the smaller frame of zx4r. Also, I am more into sporty fully faired bikes. 5. MILEAGE : Obviously zx4r will give you better. 6. SOUND : both being as inline 4 produce really good sound. its easier to make zx4r scream since the engine is smaller and gearing is shorter compared to z900. So its much more fun to push zx4r. You'll probably kill yourself on z900 if you push it. 7. LOOKS : again subjective. I'd prefer the looks of zx4r anyday. 8. BUILD QUALITY : both are really well build. solid and premium. 9. ENGAGEMENT AND CONNECT WITH THE RIDER: zx4r being a soft super sport provides better engagement with the bike. It connects with the rider much better. That's the whole point of a super sport. z900 on the other hand connects well too but not as well as zx4r. 10. EXCLUSIVITY : ZX4R ismuch more rare and exclusive. 11. WIND PROTECTION AT HIGHER SPEEDS : zx4r being a fully faired bike, it protects you better at higher spped, which makes it more stable as well. Really good if do a lot of highway rides. Summary : If you want power n torqure go with z900. Also, better resale value i guess. If you want to have fun go with zx4r. lighter, more agile, more sportier, easier to ride, easier to rev it, lesser chance of killing yourself.

I am sorry, but why would you go to such a beautiful place on a nice bike to ride in a rolling traffic jam?
