@jeremythagoat absolutely.. it’s hard to refuse to forgive someone who’s a product of their environment. My brother could’ve just as easily been on the other side of things. No one in there has any help to become better.. & they should
You need to Increase for the Correctional Officers pay ASAP
Same in NC. I am a retired Warden. 2 local facilites here to me are right at a 50% vacancy rate. NC has offered a 7K sign on bonus but it has not had any significant positive impact on staffing.
😂 I did 2 years in Polk youth institution 1991 to 1993 when it was in Raleigh. Tough place but I survived
Pay the people more and you'll get more applicants end of story.😮
If they pay these guards they'll have better results.

nearly a hundred inmates killed,inside two years!some serving light sentences!that is just incomprehensible.many will be young men what a senseless waste!
Inmates got time to get information on guards then threaten the family if guards won't bring inmate in things.
If you treat them like they do in other countries, you wouldn't have that problem. But the legal system have the hands of the warden and employees tied and they are scared.
But yet they want hire!!! I tried.
Tough story. These guys deserve top pay & benefits for what they do! And the ones who do stick around, do so for the fringe benefits! Those phones & drugs don't just magically appear!
They need to get rid of the corrupt ones.
Give those jobs to the illegal immigrants. They are needed in those prisons. Lots of positions.

It’s not an easy job to do. Staffing is a serious problem when it comes to law enforcement and the correctional system.
