    As a Former Adult Probation Officer in Texas I worked for only 3 and half years in the Criminal Justice System. I thought I was getting into the field to help people naive and impressionable. The system is corrupt and a scam

      Bi polar is a umbrella term for a cluster of symptoms. Everyone's condition is different, so don't be fooled by a diagnosis .. who knows maybe you have cerebral disrythmia ... do research, just because they are a doctor, doesnt mean they're right.

      You're absolutely correct because of the prison system gets privatized the matters of corruption will get absolutely 100% worse. Natalie will the corruption be within the privatized system but it will spew out to the streets because they need those beds to be filled to get paid. That is the reason why privatized prisons will never work in most commissions of states will not allow to certify an officer as a law enforcement are they privatized to prison. Because in most States if not all states all correctional officers are law enforcement

Knowing what I know now, HOW DO WE REFORM THIS SYSTEM?!? I don’t care what crime you’ve committed, no one deserves to be treated this way in a place they cannot leave. It’s disturbing.

    Keith Turner had been a monster towards those inmates for years. Complaint after complaint was ignored, per norm when regards to a CO. It literally took years after Cheryl’s case to remove him for staff. I was there 2008 to 2010 when Turner was a sergeant and he was an asshole then. I can only imagine how much more of an asshole he became while employed at Lowell. I’d watch him come in and get a certain woman every night - hmmm ? I wonder what went in there?? Hope he enjoys his 25 years- you earned it Turner- enjoy it

      They will not allow anything out from an inmate and nobody will listen to anybody else because they’re not a party. The courts are corrupt. The prosecutors are corrupt. The public defenders do nothing and they’re corrupt and then they put them in the Florida prism system to mentally and physically and emotionally abused peopleand make money from postage and videos and commissary and visitation, etc.. If we know these videos, you know darn well elected officials and the governor knows and they choose to do nothing.

    Abuse of my 74 year old father by a corrections officer, pushed to the ground while handcuffed and suffered broken ribs just to be thrown in solitary confinement to STOP his complaining of pain. Only 1 month later was suddenly diagnosed with stage 4 metastasized bone cancer (hence the pain he was complaining of). He was an honorable man serving 4 years of petty crime and is dying as we speak because of "the system". Family is attempting to process compassionate release after 6 weeks of cancer diagnosis and getting no where in the process. He was placed on life support and induced comma on a hospital bed with piss stains and a brick plastic pillow while he drys out to death on oxygen. Immediate family was told only a one and done visit. The ciivil rights are unjust and SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE!!!!

    Abuse and severe neglect have been going on at Lowell for many years and even when an inmate did try to speak up and get help or even get word to family through people phone calls and mail,it was intercepted and intentionally blocked by the officers personally and the number of crooked and evil officers that are employed in this institution alone has been mind blowing and the cries for help from the inmates have been ignored and dismissed repeatedly through the years until recently.

    Absolutely disgusting! So Cheryl gets 7 years for assualt, on a full grown man who was abusive, yet the correctional officers beat her nearly to death, leave her paralyzed from the neck down, and they get zilch?! Idc how much money they "awarded" Cheryl, she will never have the luxury of spending it or enjoy it and will likely have to use it to pay for her round the clock care! I've heard her story before but it still sickens me that those thugs got away with so much. Thank you for bringing awareness to these injustices and absolute criminal behavior by co's and deplorable conditions. Praying there's some action taken by those who hold the power to make changes and do better.

    The best way to fight back is to NOT get into any trouble and avoid trouble as well then you won't have to worry about jail.

    I did timelier at lol and then I went to Homestead. I was there when inmate in Moody got bit. She had bite marks all over her body. They never called an ambulance. and they were well aware of what was going on and her Bunky told the COs what was going on they didn’t believe or they could’ve stopped that they didn’t stop it. They left them bunkies. I know Turner he’s not the only piece of shit they’re at Lowell ci I knew Cheryl she was a beautiful woman now she’s stuck in a wheelchair because of the COs dragging her, you guys have no idea what really goes on

    This is not a Florida Department of Corrections problem, it's a political problem. Until our legislature wakes up and addresses the fact that this very dangerous job is not at its proper pay scale, the problem will remain. The leadership of FDC is the best, but he's working with empty pockets.

      No, it's a problem with corrections in general. Y'all will hire anyone. I know, I worked in a town full of racist rednecks who half of em worked at the state prison nearby. I'd trust most inmates over any staff at one of those outfits, y'all be corrupt, untrained, and brutal by and large, and don't pretend it's a political problem.

    Though many things about Florida are up to date if not futuristic, it's ability to retain corrections staff is still rooted in the middle of the 20th century and they will take whomever will fill out an application and show up everyday. Overall though, this is all a luxurious environment of freedom and justice compared to 100 years ago. That lady Cheryl would have just been set outside to die in the 19th century.

You didn’t deserve any of that. Don’t let anybody tell you any different. I think you are incredible for using your time on the outside, and your precious health, to work towards prison reform (your interview alone will change lives, mark my words. They have to get off the we only hire a couple times a year and they might be able to get more people. Get rid of that crap that people are guilty for a crime when they only lent a car to the offender. Over crowded by old laws which make no sense.

    • @juniorried7703

      Heck right now they’re hiring like crazy 😂 but the pay isn’t the best and on top of that they want you’re life to revolve around the Department only, and don’t fall for the bait in switch end up over worked. But if they up the pay and hired more ppl to cover shifts so no one gets burned out and are actually happy they’ll have more workers.

      @Junior Ried one agency offered my son a job @ $24 an hour. He got a less stressful job, making $30 an hour with as much overtime he wants or doesn't want with a company that offers a much better retirement package. They need to do better all around when it comes to corrections jobs.

    I thought they privatized the prison/jail systems. I thought it was a big money maker. Why are we paying for inmates?!

    • @jasonlacroix6083
      @jasonlacroix6083 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you think privatization saves money, you probably shouldn't be walking around without a helmet on. They privatized the prisons so our elected officials friends could run them for easy guaranteed profits.
      It's almost Father's Day. They have a big national round-up of dads buried in child support payments and nothing makes a mom happier than having dad locked in a cage. This helps to satisfy the minimum occupancy guarantee.

    • @tomedward
      @tomedward ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Who do you think pays the private prisons/jails? Taxpayer funds pay them! And most of them have contracts where the facility will charge a mandatory minimum amount to equal 90% occupancy! So even if they aren't 90% full they are guaranteed that amount.
