I listen to Tara each morning as I prepare for the work day. These talks set the tone for my day and fill me with the wisdom I need to navigate the challenges of teaching Middle School. Thank you for your insight and generosity, Tara. You’ve made a big difference in my life. ❤ 🙏
I handle the notes like anybody else does... but, ahhh, the pauses, that's where the magic is. That's where the art, the mystery, and the divine reside ❤
Thanks! If i could bottle your voice, your message, your humble reciting of subtle and funny and meaningful home-hitting stories, i would put it in a pill and the label would say, "Take only once a day, and only when you want to really feel how much your life matters... and only when you want to really realize how beautiful it is that you have a chance to be here, in this time that we live... now". 💖
1. she (young girl) when stressed, put her hand on the heart of her dog - to feel their heart - to quiet hers 2. I see you Mara, come, let's have tea 3. from the Poet Rilke, the press of time, all this hurrying soon will be over - only when we tarry do we touch the holy Tara via youtube > all meds and any other numbing mechanism we use to artificially suppress what's real, what's there, what's ours.... life's signal to awaken
Thank you Tara for your energy and practical assistance which reconnects me to life's truth , to my heart. You are a model for me and I am so grateful to have found you online. Sending you all my love and respect, Blandine.
Thank you, dear Tara! It was truly helpful to see that my loneliness might become the loneliness instead. Meditation and your talks help me to reconnect with nature and all its beings. It is strange, the harder I try things, I get further away from my needs. I hope there will be some letting go around Easter. Dancing alone in my room is my go to for stress release. I recommend "All you need is love" by the Beatles as a song:)
Thank you so much, Tara, as always, for your invaluable insights and care. Your talk has helped me tremendously today, as I go through severe physical pain, that may be brought on by the stress and overwhelm. Your guidance is really helpful and wise. Thank you! Xo ❤
Oh, Tara! You've given me so much comfort over the yrs. More than anyone except my mom, you've made me feel like and believe that I might truly be ok. Thank you!
Hi Bonnie . I live in the UK and this sense of overwhelm has increased pro covid. Our inflation has been high causing worry. We all need to step back now and disconnect . Keep enjoying these talks .
Thank you Tara. Your work is amazing, I love how you bring yourself in the sessions: the stories, the humour and the self reflections… May you receive back all the goodness you send us ❤
prayer: - health wealth love - deeper closer healthier connections with those whom I love... - healing, on every level, in every way, for all of us - to be radically honest, with everyone, about everything - financial freedom - twin-flame reunion - a tribe of real friends - for all of us to thrive off our talents and passions... - blissful magical wonderous joy, always, in all ways...
i noticed in my rush of overwhelm a fear of regret when not doing 🍵 but what kind of regret am i setting myself up for, making list after list and in the process rushing towards a life of less meaning? beautiful talk ❤
Oh Tara! Thank you for sharing your wisdom. This has come to me in a timely moment. I will learn to PAUSE between the note 🎶of my life. Thank so much!!
Thank you Tara I love your talks, and it helps me to slow down and work at staying balanced in my body. I'm very overwhelmed with Israel committing genocide and having killed over 40000 Palestinians, mostly women and children. It is a horrific slaughter that the USA are complicit in along with most of the West - that is sad for everyone in the world
I like the story of having tea with Mara your wonderful husband Jonathan faust told the other week. Thank yiu both for so, so much wonderful work you both have worked so hard on in your own lives and share with the world 🙏🙏🙏
Many thanks Tara for this sensible talk , it all makes sense really. True stress was around during WW1 AND 2 . In a sense we have been protected since this era. Now we are experiencing a new 20th century stress (covid and cost living) I think we all have to distance ourselves from it as you suggest.
It helps so much that you share your own experience and that of others. I often forget how connected we all are or can be. Your stories and humorous anecdotes makes the message easier to relate. Thank you, Tara.
My 9 year old asked about anxiety, so we went searching for descriptions and videos that could get through. Her takeaway this morning is that there are levels of anxiety. The highest two stages are debilitating and impact one's function. Learning HOW to manage it as a child is the challenge. I discussed how even though we want to eliminate stress, the solution is often to add something, which is different from our intinct to subtract.
Anxiety is often a seeking to control, or escape what we don’t like about life right now. It is a mental activity when we don’t know an action to take, that can alleviate our distress. Two of the biggest skill sets we can teach, (and we have to learn and model it, or it won’t work…as our nervous systems are interacting with those around us all the time, even if we try to “hide” it) is distress tolerance and emotional regulation. Both are foundational to learning to live with way less anxiety. When you face the reality that life is hard, has pain, and you can manage, it is very empowering. Too often, we are trying to take away all the tough stuff from our kids, when they actually build self trust, resilience, when they face a challenge successfully. Everything we put into our bodies/minds/energy space, affect whether we are adding to our anxiety. How you start the day, end the day, and all in between. What are you doing to cultivate safety? Encouraging the parasympathetic nervous system to be activated more than the sympathetic. Exhale longer, that’s a parasympathetic activation…rest/digest, and encourages anxiety to decrease. News, social media, how you talk, who you interact with, movies/shows, toxins in food/water. Manage what you can, to support yourself the best you can…while also having the awareness that life is flawed, imperfect, and that we can only control a few things. We can commit to those, and the rest we commit to letting go, and cultivate safety, peaceful mind, and acceptance of reality. Mental wellness is ultimately about how well you deal with life as it is…
@@Alphacentauri819 Love the reminders. I am very attentive to the environment I create and bring all this to consciousness for my daughter. As a child, she has to learn it all the first time. She's resilient.
@@woodspriteful that’s great! I’m a grandmother, who was an RN, and am now studying neuroscience… it has been a long road, of learning through my own traumas, patient experiences, and digging deeper with curiosity and humility. I often was blind with my children, my youngest is 11, even though I was trying so hard to be a “good” mom. I had to do a lot of work, on my attachment wounds/programming, and limiting beliefs, and also have grace/compassion all the way along. It’s a life long evolution… I wish you well 💛💫
Thank you so much Tara. I needed this today... in a big way. I am going to incorporate this practice of breathing and having tea with Marra when she rears her head.
Thanks and blessings Tara ❤ also pups usually need to do two or more little wees each time, until they’re a little bigger. Even dogs will do two each time they go 😘
I hope the puppy was adopted and not bought from breeders. It would be such a great disappointment if he wasn’t adopted from a shelter. It says a lot about people’s lack of compassion when they buy from breeders
I am similarly disappointed given Tara's immense humanity and passion for animals that she seemingly supports dog breeders and the hysteria around puppies -- when unprecedented numbers of broken beautiful hearts are bring euthanized across shelters in the US. If you aren't part of the solution you might be part of the problem. I'm personally overwhelmed by the suffering inflicted on cats and dogs in the US due to overbreeding. Tara Brach has been an angel and balm to my soul and I want to be kind and generous of spirit like she is but this was an opportunity to save a life and use her massive platform to save more.
I've never seen an 8 week old doodletype puppy on lists for euthanasia. Also, as someone who works with rescues my definition of a rescue is saving an animal from death or a terrible life. Puppies that are rescued by organizations become adopted. They are highly adoptable and find homes. They are not rescues in my mind, though the organization may have rescued them from god knows what kind of danger and fate.
I agree with you that rescuing dogs is great, but there are many ways to rescue besides from a terrible life of abuse. Beloved dogs lose owners to death, or changes in health, and they need new families. And lots of organizations are go-betweens between an animal being extracted from a not ideal situation, and a new home. Finally, some people have health reasons they need certain kinds of dogs. It' more complicated than just "everyone needs to take only traumatized dogs" @@annecroft888
