Heat culture is not just a meme. It's real. They turned undrafted players into starters. They made it to the ECF 3 times in 4 years. They believe in themselves and their coach is fucking amazing. They have a leader in Jimmy who makes everyone around him better. It's just a fantastic team.
I think Denver is better, but Miami has shown that they can beat anyone. And honestly I want Jimmy G. Buckets to win a ring. He deserves it.

It definitely proves one thing:Jimmy‘s correct with the wolves and 76ers. Ben Simmons, Embiid, KAT and Wiggins were soft and simply enjoying life. There’s no competence in those players’ brains. Wiggins has improved after joining the warriors but the other 3 are still same.

This Heat team is a wake up call to the entire NBA. The main reason the Heat made it this far is hunger. Not the "Oh I'm after my first championship hunger" but one that is far deeper and meaningful. The Heat are largely a team of underdogs. Low draft picks, undrafted, and basically all the guys other teams didn't want. Most of these guys aren't playing for supermax contracts. Most of them are playing just to remain in the league.
"Superstar" players are grossly overpaid and unmotivated. Do you think someone with a supermax is gonna be diving for balls, fighting for every possession, or dig deep to force themselves to play their best basketball? Not a chance. Superstars are overpaid, over privileged, and constantly underperform. Give me the undrafted player that fights for every ball, that puts everything on the line, that gives it his everything like it's his last play...because for some it just may be.

Jimmy finds ways to create and deliver despite the huge effort of the opponents to contain him. Undeniably, Caleb have performed steadily during the playoffs series, that's being recognized now by everybody, his time will come too. Out of the 82 Heat games, I watched about 65 of them. Here is why this isn't that surprising.
    1) Injuries and roster changes. Spo has been testing different lineups all season. This gave guys like Vincent, Highsmith, and Martin more experience to take on more responsibilities.
    2) Duncan Robison is NOT great at shooting when given limited minutes. He needs to get into a rhythm. He averaged 16 minutes during the regular season but now because of injuries he's getting more minutes and more looks at the basket. He's shooting it like he was in 2020.
    3) We're better with Kyle is coming off the bench. Lowrey was starting most of the year but when his injuries caused him to come off the bench, we were 8-3 during the season. He's been coming off the bench the entire playoff.
    4) Kevin Love brought some championship leadership in the lockeroom. You could see the change when we acquired him in our play. It took a while for the playing to catch up but our intensity magnified when he showed up.
    5) We were the worst 3pt shooting team during the season, however, we went from shooting 33% all season to 37% and 38% during March and April. That was right after Love arrived. But, by that time we were already a 7th seed so we were overlooked.
    6) Playoff Jimmy is real.

Great analysis. Very incisive, and educational.
Now, can you analyze why the Bulls consistently under-perform?
And why Bulls drafted players have this odd habit of being so-so,
and then playing like All Stars when they go someplace else.
    What gives with that?

@@Ontiming2023 8th seed reaching the finals is extremely impressive on a full season. Let's not act like the 2011 Mavs were not tied with the second best record on the West that year while the Heat reached the Finals while having a 44-38 record which screams underdog all around. Mavs were one of the best teams in the league that year bit they only got the underdog tag because people expected them to choke like in the 2006-2010 Era while the Heat literally came out of nowhere.

I think this team deserves to win, and if they do it will be history as well for the Heat and a 1st title in the post D-Wade/Big 3 (with LeBron and Bosh) era.
I like how Pat Riley and the Heat organization kept Coach Spoelstra even through the years (making him the one of the longest tenured coaches aside from Popovich and Kerr) and now he's in his 6th Finals appearance as a Head Coach.
Also I see Butler has finally found a home where he's doing what he does right now, way different from his stint with the Bulls, Wolves and Sixers, probably he had a good supporting cast to help him when he needed the most (particulary those undrafted or in Butler's words, teammates) and finally returned to the finals for the 2nd time in his career.
And if Miami wins it all, that would be another ring for Haslem (a perfect retirement gift for him) and Lowry (his 2nd as player since he won with Toronto in 2019)
Edit: I forgot to mention, It will be Kevin Love's 2nd ring as well if they win the series (He had one with Cleveland).

My favorite part about the finals this year, it's a guaranteed win-win. Either Denver gets their first championship ever and Jokic finally gets the credit he deserves, or the first eight seed to ever win a championship goes down in history as probably the greatest underdog team. Can't wait to see it unfold

Their teamwork is tenacious, they're like a pack of dogs who knows their role in the hunt. This is why their victories are phenomenal, they're achievements are unbelievably fascinating. ❤❤❤

Spo is the best coach in the league if they tbh honest for them rebuild break through and get back to the finals 2 out of 3 years is one hell of a coaching job but for some this team feel’s gritty tough like a spo built team like we’re not done yet kind of team. Now the nuggets it’s truly amazing that they finally broke through after all these years but now we’ll get to see the joker I believe that there head coach has done turn this team around is simply amazing

  • @jehem2239

The reason why I'm confident to pick the nuggets as a legit favorite in this series is because of coaching, this will be the first team the heat will face with a competent coaching staff. But I still wish the heat will habe another upset, just saying the the nuggets are a different team than the Bucks and Cs.

Caleb Martin shot well in the series, yes but Jimmy deserved MVP because he also set the tone defensively, especially in G2 was it? Where he got like 6 steals. He wasn’t as efficient as Caleb in shooting but he scored more points. I think they got the MVP right

yeah for real, the defensive scheme of the celtics were focus on him and bam, which makes an injured tatum or gassed out jaylen guarding them, but caleb is a dawg! he can be an elite level player, he might win the finals mvp tho if he outperforms everyone.

For me, Miami was severely underrated going into the playoffs. I thought they were the 2nd best team in the East behind Milwaukee, and that the Bucks would take it in 7, but whoever came out of that first round series would be in the Finals. Denver should be about a 60/40 favorite

  • @standfx
    @standfx ปีที่แล้ว +1

Jokic has been the best overall player these playoffs. I know the same was said about the Knicks, but the Nuggets are so much bigger. At every position just about. Hell, even Aaron Gordon is almost as big as as Bam. He should really struggle in this series even more so than the ECF. Rooting for the heat but secretly I think it could be at best a gentleman’s sweep for Denver.

  • @ricinhouston9014

Butler shouldn't slow down the tempo in that series. All Heat's runs in the 1-st game showed that Denver needs time to get composure on D. When Miami attacked having left ~13 seconds on the shot clock it was successful. Butler himself, on the other hand procrastinates offence too much
