  • This time Storme and I went to Peanmeanach Bothy on the Ardnish Peninsula. Although the trip came with a mixed bag of weather it was definitely an unforgettable trip as Storme's first ever time staying in a bothy!
This video gives you a good idea of what to expect from a summer stay at the bothy as well as diving deep into the history of the bothy and the surrounding area.
If you want to book a stay at the bothy:

Stay tuned for part 2 of the trip which should be out in the coming weeks!

Outro Song - Hirta - Beluga Lagoon

Just found your channel yesterday and love the Videos! I live on Skye and there’s a few great bothies to stay in and excellent fishing spots 🔥

My next video will include is being up in Skye but the fishing wasn’t great. It wasn’t a trip set for fishing it was more just as the opportunities arose, next time I am keen to do some more planned trips!

The bothy looks so different since it has been locked! I have spent many a weekend thee and the beach out the front is great for foraging for mussels and razor clams!

I definitely missed a lot of foraging opportunities that I am keen to reconcile on next time I visit :)
Must be interesting to see how the bothy has changed though

@@RooCant, it IS interesting but... It also feels like a bit of it's soul has been taken away. Don't get me wrong, it's the perfect way to introduce somebody to bothying but, I'd much rather be sleeping in the ground floor 'kitchen' when it's blowin a hoolie! 🤣

Enjoyed this mate! Couple questions- Where did you have to park to start the hike? & what would you suggest leaving out of your pack if you were to do it again?
Also, Muile by Tide Lines would be my suggestion for a song for future reference 😁

Just parked at the closest Lay-by to the path(Just north of loch Dubh, the bothy is signposted at the start of the track.
In terms of kit we didn’t end up needing when we got to the bothy:
      - sleeping mat
      -Cutlery and Crockery
-The Bothy had a gas cooker but no gas with it, although we couldn’t get it to work so might be safer to just bring your own.
-One of the heaviest we brought was fresh water, the bothy had some as well as purification tablets which I would recommend you bring instead (as there is a freshwater stream nearby)

@@RooCantwhat about extra wood or was there plenty to gather or in the bothy?

    • @RooCant
      @RooCant  หลายเดือนก่อน

I brought a bag-full, on top of this we were given some by some kind campers. There was spare wood on the distant shores but would have taken quite some effort to lug back to the bothy (not impossible). We also walked through a small woodland just before reaching the bothy so there is hopefully some deadwood lying in there that hasn’t been scavenged by others yet. However, we resorted to what we had because of the damp conditions.
