Meisterhaft!!
Dear Tracotel, as everyone else, you are free to write anything that comes to your mind and your comments are not offensive. They simply show the way you think and listen to music, which is your own right. However, there are other ways to listen to music which for the time being you are not aware of and require a different type of sensitivity. Open your mind beyond your concepts. Listen to music through a decent audio system rich in overtones and not through youtube or mp3. Learn not to think or imagine anything while you are listening to music. Learn about the latest neurophysiological research on how intellectual pollution alters your perception of music. After making such an effort, please write again about Sergiu Celibidache. Than you for reading.
What a beautiful orchestral sound at a seemingly slow tempo, that upon hearing, seems right in bringing out the sublime sonority of the strings, winds, and horns. This is my first hearing of the recording-shy (apparently enjoyed live broadcast better, more in keeping with his Zen Buddhism) Sergiu Celibidache (what a great name that trips, so haltingly yet elegantly from the tongue).
Maestro Celibidache have many colors because of his slow tempos, there is time for communications in music, there is time to esspress the music but I have strong opinion about Beethoven’s methronom tempos. In my opinion Maestro Toscanini have perfect Beethoven’s tempo.
it's funny how many people use bad comments when they have no even seen a major stage even once or have no talent in what regards music...i never thought i'd meet a troll ona beethoven/celibidache video
@goodmanmusica Absolutely marvelous recording, although Celi was never keen to recordings, but it's close to the real experience of being actually there - as Celibidache himself stated - about 40% of the sound is captured by the microphones I guess, but nevertheless thank you for this rare gem! This is a great orchestra for 1989, maybe it's the conductor, but hey you can't make music without decent musicians, hehe! What does MPO stand for - Malaysia, Moscow, Minnesota, Munich?
Battered & bruised after his latest humiliating trouncing at the hands of a certain Bach Tobach (a new name to add to the ever longer list of “intelligent people to insult”), dziady1 slinks off back to his favourite vulgarity-club: probably the only place where he can wallow in the company of like-minded admirers of musical bad taste.
Fortunately, many great musicians feel that Celibidache had only "ONE CONCEPT" about music and applied it to every work he conducted. Whatever the music is discursive or not, the metronome markings, the characteristics or the nature of the music etc. Beethoven's symphonies have many fast and rhythmic movements with his own metronome marks. But it doesn't matter, Celib. just slowed it down and made sound every parts melodic and smooth. Funny how some poeple feel proud to be musically monolithic!!
If there is not interest in my reply, so why do you reply!?... Are you an Ayatollah offended by blasphemies on your "guru" Celibidache? Indeed, I prefer to be an illustrate "nobody" who realized a completion of the Finale to Bruckner's Ninth symphony than to be a pseudo-mystic pompous conductor pretending that Bernstein or Karajan never made a note of music, but only Coca-Cola... Furthermore, Celibidache was absolutely ignorant about original editions of Beethoven's and Bruckner's symphonies.
Dear Tracotel, unfortunately, you do not know anything about Celibidache. For sure you did not have a chance to hear live a concert of him. Pompous? do you know with how many orchestras did Celibidache work. Hard work! Comparing to Celibidache, Karajan was a showman conducting orchestras prepared by others.
What a disaster! This is elephantine! Absolutely no continuity... The music is lazy and smooth. Music is a speech, not only beautiful and round sounds. Beethoven's music (or Mendelssohn's, Schumann's, Brahms', Bruckner's) are discursive, nothing to do with an exclusive spectral approach of the music like Celibidache did. Pure nonsense.
After Chelibidache I can't listen to anyone else any more. He is the best!!

The best interpretation I have heard.
Wer Ohren hat höre!! Polyphonie-Reichtum, Anmut, Grazie. Klassik!
Celibidache is the Best!!❤️❤️❤️
Sergiu Celibidache =GENIU ❤
Sadly, there are people who just do not "get" Celibidache. They think him insane because they do not understand his relation with tempo. Sad.
!!it’s a rare and precious resource !
Gorgeous!Thank you goodmanmusica for this glorious half hour

My God. Your speech is perfect.

Music is emotion! Especially in Beethoven!
