You’ve hit on my favourite band Nick.... Bretts voice was impeccable many years ago hitting them high notes but not so much these days though still well worth a watch when Suede are touring Outsiders,The Living Dead,Still life and He’s gone are a few faves of mine, hope to hear what you think over the upcoming months........
It's a classic UK song: the isolation of remote towns, the derision levelled at kids finding their feet, the class attitude and the lack of care. It's a fuck you to anyone who sticks their nose up at you.
There is a funny story on how Richard Oakes became the guitarist after Bernard Butler. He sent a cassette tape of him playing to the fan club and the band listened to it and the band decided to have him as the guitarist and they hoped it would put an end to the negative publicity regarding the fall out between Bernard and Brett Anderson!
this is from the third album after richard had replaced bernard, its still great, but lets face it, only page and hendrix can really play with the magic of b butler
Love Suede but I never thought anything odd about Bretts voice. Suede are all about image and attitude, a unique London thing. One of the few bands to lose an amazing guitarist and get another amazing one.
Trash kicks off a stellar pop album. Not a single skippable track on Coming Up... I'd love to hear your take on Filmstar, Beautiful Ones, or Saturday Night
Awesome you did Suede! As far as Suede songs go I would rate this song about 6 out of 10. Please check out songs from the Dog Man Star album. Probably my favorite album of all time. Asphalt World, New Generation, Wild Ones are some stand outs
Could you do some Wildhearts songs sometime please, My baby is a headfuck 29x the pain Sick of drugs I wanna go where the people go Geordie in wonderland Tv tan Just in lust Loveshit
too bad this song always manages to sound like shit every time Suede plays it "Live" . i read somewhere they had the tape sped out during the mastering process of this song and thats why its never really captured live the way it sounds on the album . but anyways oh well
Yes! React to more Suede. Try something from their Dog Man Star album. Also, you should look into Placebo.
I fully concur!
Love Dog Man Star!

Excellent observation regarding Bowie/Suede, Brett is a huge Bowie fan.
Maybe my favourite Suede track.
The band seemed mainly influenced by Bowie and early 70s Glam rock.

Yay Suede!
Go early, the debut is phenomenal
One of my fav's from way back. Damn I feel.old lol
More Suede! MORE!
Crazy voice? More like amazey voice! More Suede and some Placebo for good measure. Anderson and Molko are some of the best and most unique vocalists
Excellent taste you have, and it’s more than telling because you weren’t even alive when Suede released that album…
I remember liking Suede when they first arrived then the guitarist was replaced by someone new and it just wasn't the same. Nice reaction

I mean he basically was the same. That's how a child (which he was still) got the gig.

Brett Anderson 🙌🙌🙌🇧🇷
See also Beautiful Ones and Lazy. Metal Mickey and Animal Nitrate.
Animal Nitrate is ace.
You should listen to Supergrass;
"Moving", "Pumping On Your Stereo" or "Mansize Rooster".
Richard III
Bowie was actually a big fan. You caught the connection Nick.
Sublime song!
Great song.

I'm commenting as I listen. Kook ha, Bowie did a track on Hunky Dory, 'Kooks'.... It's sweet. Check it out why don'cha.
Please can you react to Morrissey's cover on the Suede - My Insatiable One
React to the Suede tune called I don't know how to reach you. Good tune.
It looks like The Bruins are going to play The Leafs. So lets hear Dropkick Murphys - Time To Go 🙂
As a broken Leafs fan, god I hope so!
Good call -- because you're right, it's not Brit Pop. :0)
Bit of Heroes in the melody too! Dogmanstar is an utter masterpiece too. I would say Bowie was a better vocalist myself.
They play sexy music.
Try "So young"...
Bless you, but if you told Brett that anything he ever did sounded like Mötley Crüe, I don’t think there would be a second sentence between you😅
Could you do some Wildhearts songs sometime please,
