Tasted exactly like in Vietnam! So happy we make this regularly now. Thanks so much! :) you've made us both really happy!

I absolutely love this dish. In Czechia, there is a huge vietnamese community, so it is quite a common meal even for us.

@Thi Huynh yes, unless you live in the capital, you will probably not meet any black people in smaller cities/towns, but we have large vietnamese minorities in many towns 🙂 You will not meet vietnamese people maybe only in smaller villages or so

If you watch all my vids, you should be able to know many kinds of herbs because I introduce suitable herbs to use for each dish in each video :) But will consider your request for a "master class" in herbs :)

omg, bun cha. my favorite food of all time. i was seriously thinking about going back to hanoi, deporting some of the old ladies who own food stalls in the streets of hanoi, bring them to austria and force them to make bun cha for me every day. now that i have found this recipe, all of you bun cha ladies can take a deep breath. i guess, i won't have to kidnap you after all. oi gioi oi!

This is the real bun cha Ha Noi. Man so yummy! I need to make this! I should have bought that grilling basket in VN when I went back a while back. But then again, I don't have a charcoal grill. Grilling on Charcoal is a must! It really really help make the meat taste better! U make me miss VN soo much!

Heck yes it's one of the greatest things I've ever eaten. At my local Vietnamese restaurant, they tend to put the noodles, meat and fixings together in one bowl with the sauce on a separate bowl. Also, instead of grilled pork patties, they put chopped spring rolls instead. I would so kill for a bowl of this right now.

Sugar balances out the saltiness of the fish sauce and the sourness of the vinegar. It's not too sweet as you may think. Anyway, you can less the sugar in any step if you feel like to ;) Cooking is personal, you are the boss in your own kitchen ;)
