    Hi Alex I know about the bees 🐝 of Manchester even though I live in NZ. I chose bee 🐝 fabric to make my first granddaughter’s bassinet sheets. My daughter who returned here from the Manchester to have baby Noa Rose here, said “oh Mum that is the symbol of Manchester where Noa was conceived!!” Loving your informative and interesting video, thank you. Pink top is gorgeous and like the tank tops. You are a lovely daughter in law to your husbands Mum 👗🧵

    The 'sweater set' is a fantastic accident. The cropped length and deepened curved neckline give it an updated look. I am going to have to look for some of that fabric composition. All the other pieces turned out really nice. Sorry to hear your mother-in-law is losing her independence. My parents are requiring more help and are a fall away from needing a change in living arrangements. Always a worry. Great to take a bit of time to do something that makes you happy when you do get time to yourself. Sew On! All your wedding guest/holiday options are lovely. I need to wear sleeves now as I am sun sensitive. Finding fabric and pattern matches that are tolerable in the heat is my new challenge.

    So nice to see you back Alex. Sorry to hear about your mother-in-law. Hope she is on the improve soon. Love, love your pattern inspo and makes as always. Would definitely be keen to see a tutorial on burrito facings if you get a chance. I like the Tessuti Claudia dress for a casual summer strappy dress where the straps don't fall off the shoulders. Enjoy the trip away to the wedding 💕

    Alex you look gorgeous in all the renditions! VERY sexy at any age but truly at 54 you're a star and inspiration. When you modeled your pink True Bias top, honestly I thought, "Holy Cow!" Stunning. You should wear that all the time everywhere :))) I always appreciate when you do the same pattern in a number of different fabrics especially highlighting as you did with the grass green one, the difference using an inexpensive fabric versus one that costs more. Love your shiny green with the flowers - that will be just lovely with your colouring. I wonder if you've ever considered "body tape"? Some models use it to help keep their girls looking up and perky under clothing that is almost impossible to wear with a bra (they don't want to be bouncing down the runway after all :) ) Thank you for another fabulous video Alex! I hope you're MIL gets better soon and you enjoy the wedding!

    • @AlexJudgeSews
      @AlexJudgeSews  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Ahh thanks Kathleen, I saw something about body tape recently, it sounds sore 😀. I really should listen to my daughter's more, their attitude is be comfy, who cares if you're bouncing that's what boobs do 😂❤

    • @PsychicKathleen
      @PsychicKathleen 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@AlexJudgeSews Your daughters sound like such a joy and truly that's not surprising at all 😊 I agree that we do need to be comfortable and for sure at my age that's number one! but being comfortable also must include our emotional/intellectual aspects too. I wear an FF bra cup (for 50 years) and honestly going braless would likely draw an inordinate number of stunned stares especially when dancing or running down the stairs 🤣🤣 even or perhaps especially at my age!! For some women that's just fun but for me it's the worst imaginable self consciousness, therefore well out of the comfortable zone.

    I’ve just finished a fringe dress for a wedding I’m going to in august I did view b in a lovely viscose with a fairly large colourful print and a navy background, I’m pleased with the results. Have you thought of wider straps with the wrap dress, years ago I had some ready to wear that had a thread chain/ tiny rolleaux loop with pressstuds to hold bra straps in place under the tops they always felt secure About showing arms I couldn’t care less I’m a plus sized 64 year old and my opinion is I can’t see them when I’m out and about 😂😂😂😂

Andrea to BeyondThePinkDoor stocks faux angora jersey - she’s got none in atm, but it is something she has usually in the autumn winter. Hi Alex
    I saw the Elbe pattern when it come out and loved the neckline and that it obviously was finished with a full facing of some type. Big tick. I then looked closer and saw it was cropped and immediately dismissed it. HOWEVER seeing it on you, and seeing that you have successfully lengthened it (I was also worried about extending it and shaping it around my hips. …..Well, couldn’t be bothered doing the work to do the adjustment actually).
    I also think the cropped one looks rockin’ on you anyway…….
    So, I am seriously looking at the pattern again. It has such a beautiful fit and neckline
    Thanks for reporting!
    And I am really interested in the pull-on pants episode!

    • @AlexJudgeSews

      Tracie, it was an easy job even for those of us who wish to apply minimum effort. I just added 15cm down and 25cm across for each pattern piece at the hem (my hips are 102, that gives 100cm) it's a major curve to the waist but it worked pretty well for me. 😀❤

    Hi Alex, no need to apologize at all for not being around for a time...things happen that are more important 🙏...we missed you though 😉. Hope your mother in-law settles in ok and is happy. I'm a similar age to yourself and have a few ageing relatives and friends, so I understand 💕. Great to hear what you've been up to and such lovely things made. Your tops are lovely and your gym work is definitely paying off...you look amazing and nothing wrong with your arms 😋. I adore your true bias top and I'm sure when you have solved the fit at the sides it will look amazing and that gorgeous green fabric with the sheen will look fab on you I feel 💚. I have a couple of weddings to go too...one in June and one in August...so might get some inspiration for the August one from you. I'm wearing a bought top and palazzo trousers that I made for the June wedding..the McCall's M7757. Really pleased with them...made in a gorgeous rose printed viscose. I'm not really much of a dress wearer..but might think about a dress for August 👍💒. Enjoy your sewing Alex and looking forward to seeing your makes 😁💝😘

    I love the tank tops. I preferred the longer length for me anyway. I'm not sure if these were mentioned in your pants list but I've just discovered the Style Arc Talia Pants. Flat front waist with elastic at the back. Single welt pockets which really give them the look of 'proper' trousers. These were the hardest part for me as I didn't quite understand the instructions. I've made two pair and the second pockets were done better. Such a comfy pattern.

    Pink looks great on you! I enjoyed seeing the same tank in different fabrics - really helpful. Interesting about the no bra trend. I wonder if that's mostly smaller busts? I'm with you on that. So sorry to hear about John’s Mum but glad your getting some help.
    I love your pink colour but I think you have made many more better shaped/fitting tops and when it’s for something special you don’t want to have to fiddle with falling straps or ones that don’t cover your bra.

    I love the tank top pattern and the green looks amazing as a two piece! I have a couple of RTW ones that are designed to be reversible - v one side and scoop the other so you can choose which way round to wear it. The New Look dress is a great shape and the neckline really suits you! Like the hot pink of the Calvin wrap - you could add an a-line skirt and have a two piece dress for versatility.

    • @AlexJudgeSews
