I remember like a month ago I was on a youtube video about moonbreon and someone said the same thing about the moonbreon psa 10 they were trying to sell, they said that their listing kept being bid crazy high but buyer would NEVER pay. Not surprised one bit cause when there is money involved all the corruption will follow

Exactly, rarity and popularity. The other SIR Pokémon aren’t wanted so then the only real pull is greninja making it a serious chase
I pulled the Greninja Ex on my 8th pack and then I pulled the Bloodmoon Ursaluna on my 16th pack! I can't believe my luck with this set.
Greninja is one of the most popular Pokémon out there he’s actually top 5 world wide, those radiant greninjas from astral radiance are 10 bucks a pop, I got 20 of em , ash greninja is what did it

IMO this artwork is messy and hard to makeout. The PF Zard imo is the best but you could make arguments for a few in TF before this card. And if this card is this much then why arent the other cards in the set following suit or anything from TF sky high? You can say its a popular pokemon but that doesnt justify the price. This card has gone up since release. No card has done that. Not even moonbreon. Took 6 months for Moonbreon to go up to 300 and that is a far more popular pokemon and one of the most iconic artworks in the history of the tcg. Its not hard to maniuplate the price. There are only 20 listings for sale...a few of which are sky high and will never sell, some overpriced japanese versions, and then everything else. random buyers look and just buy whatever the lowest listed is and that causes the market to rise. throw in a few fake sales of high priced cards and there you go. also keep in mind when you list cards on tcg you can default the price settings to reflect the pricing. ala manipulation.
That's why I buy singles. I'm sick of spending over 40 on booster packs in one day and not having pulled ONE hit but the the blissey ex.

well, the sole reason those sealed twilight products are so cheap cos they are widely available, you cant correlate chase card values with sealed values for such a new product, for SWSH yes you probably can

I think the people who are deadset on claiming this is manipulated are so bitter. Its a famous pokemon. The art is amazing. Its the SIR of the set. And the pull rates are hard. Whats not to get?
The fact that it’s $230 less than a month after release. That’s not normal. BUT there ARE a ton of them selling
And the arts trash?? Literally a greninja PROMO about to come out looks as good and in my opinion BETTER than this travesty… looks like a 3 yr old fingerprinted this greninja…. So bad when a promo outdoes a $200 card ….
The art is just decent. All it is, is just a paint splash background. Not amazing IMO. Much better SIRs out there with lots going on in the image like Roaring Moon.
Agreed, it’s the first card of s/v with pull rates and popularity like this. It’s on par with previous sets chase cards, so it’s price is moving that way. Atleast with other boxes there are multiple cards that you want. No one wants the other SIRs so the money that would go towards all of the chase cards in this set is being funneled into only greninja
it's a combination of things: 1. it's a beautiful card and many people want it 2. it's really really hard to pull - pokemon has nerfed the pull rates in the last couple of sets 3. lots of people are hyping about the price this card will reach in the future - I've seen a lot of people suggesting this will go way up and investors suggesting everyone buy it
I think this card came out during a perfect storm. Sword & Shield booster boxes were barely moving and then in February Fusion Strike sells out and all of a sudden booster boxes start to go crazy and more sets sell out. Tax season just begins and people treat return like COVID/stimulus checks and splurge. Attention turns to Alt arts and then Scarlet & Violet gets pumped, then trainer gallery cards and now Greninja. I am 100% convinced people are irrational and are easy to heard like sheep and the big players in the Pokémon resale business are reaping the reward. All the FOMO is going to lead to regret when this $225 card drops to $80 after more boxes get ripped. I will buy that Greninja for my son's binder but it will not be anywhere near $200.
Hey ! Your right, but I do not think it will go down that low... maybe 100-120 cause this greninja isn't as gorgeous as the eeveelution alternate art. Also, the pull rates changed, I think people were like "oh, this card should be 50 USD at best", but the pull rates are really becoming harder. When that news appeared, the prices went rreally up, because FOMO and resellers holding the card watching the pull rates... a gigantic boom appeared couple month ago on EVERY Illustration rare/Special Illustration rare, so I mean... yeah it's going to go down, like the eevee, can't be a 50 USD card, but around 30 USD should be pretty much decent considering the BB price of 100-105 USD

Cool trainer Ryan hasn’t been able to pull the greninja despite opening hundreds of packs live just a few days ago … also keep in mind the greninja is extremely playable in the actual game… with the being said I am personally not a fan of TCGplayer for card prices I rather check sales on eBay
@@georgeallen4007saw them on TCG player for 225-250 but I got mine from eBay for 266. I prefer eBay. People use TCG player to sell cards that are LP as near mint while using a stock photo. If you can’t take the 1 minute out your day to take a picture of the product you are selling then you don’t deserve the sale in my opinion.

The reason the second deep even took place was someone sold around 50 for 90 108 and 112. They had 0% feedback and 0 completed sales. I think this is the market correcting itself after that bs happened

The reason this card has been spiking was mostly do to me telling everyone greninja is the Pokemon reincarnation of Naruto uzumaki. Once they realized i was right they had to have the card.
This card continuing to rise in value is the perfect example of why nobody can predict which cards are going to be the cream of the crop for each generation.
Initially, no one believed in the Moonbreon in the Sw&Sh era or the tag team Latios Latias alt art in the S&M era, but they eventually rose above the rest and became the chase card for each block.
When those were new, people were bashing both cards, saying that they preferred other cards, have negative opinion about the art, or that they could not understand why the market is valuing them so high, etc.
The market ultimately sets the price for the cards, and so far, it has shown that it supports the value for this card.
I'm not saying it is going to be the chase of SV, just observing the similarity in preception and attitudes from everyone here about this card so far as compared to the past.
Everyone has an opinion, but overall, the market will determine if a certain card is valuable long term or not. So far, I have been pretty impressed on how the Greninja has held up.
Greninja is a popular pokemon, the pull rate is difficult for this card, and the print run of twilight masquerade seems to be less than others. These are interesting ingredients that can lead to some decent results in the future.
Maybe it’s more like the Blaziken Vmax or Gengar Vmax. I think the “Umbeon-esk” one still has yet to come.

Love how I literally pulled this yesterday and this video was posted around the time I pulled it. Just found the video now.
I really like the greninja card, even before the hype set in. Just like the Magikarp from Paldea evolved, it’s such a good art work of a popular pokemon. That being said, I will be waiting to buy it. Even if the drop isn’t that substantial, it can’t sustain the trajectory it’s on. There will be a major correction in the next few months… just have to hold tight.

Honestly I think it’s funny everyone trying to make videos on why the market is doing this and that with card prices 😂😂😂 we got things happening in pokemon that are blowing our minds . We have cards hitting crazy prices not just raw but look at paldea evolved and scarlet and violet base set have 5 doller cards selling 200 in psa 10s because or rarity and hard to grade and hard to pull cards . I think there is no manipulation with graninja ex. But I agree there is nothing going on with the graninja

I’ll never understand the hype with some of these cards, like we have 25 years of cards to buy from, so many promos, niche sets, diverse artwork, yet people swarm like lemmings to the newest thing possible.

I got into cards just this year, so I’m grateful for just anything that I can get a good deal on 😅. I’ve been buying loose packs of SV base for only $2.50 each, and we got the ultra premium collection for 151 from Costco at just $90. The pull rates on the latter were absolute garbage and we got only one illustration rare that we had ALREADY PULLED, but it was still fun for us to open lol. Now I’m trying to find deals on crown zenith and Paldean fates because I feel like they’ll spike soon. Can’t find anything from astral radiance though, I’ve never opened that set before that I know of 🥺
I know getting the cheap stuff is not ideal right now, but we’re both grad students and can’t keep up the hobby unless we try to find cheap packs and good deals or use credit card cashback points 🤷🏼♀️

Greninja always one of my fave! Pulled the illustration rare which I love more than the SIR honestly.

The Japanese version is WAY cheaper
I don’t think it’s manipulated but I think something weird is going on with the graded cards because there is such a large range. I think this card is amazing but I feel the raging bolt and iron crown should be around the same considering they also have rediculous pull rates and the artwork is awesome. I think though the card and other cards will dip once team rocket, and the terrestrial festival and the dragon set come out. Either way it’s exciting.

it’s crazy because while i do think the card is nice and the color splashes are cool, i really don’t think this card is even that great. so many other artworks i prefer over this. but i do understand the pull rates recently and once the card started to pop off the fomo really set in and every day i check its gone up a few more bucks. def doesn’t seem sus to me.

We are in a nice dead period right now for the tcg. Next set isn’t for another month, and it doesn’t look to have any chase cards. None of these new cards really did well at naic, so the hype for dragapult and raging bolt has fizzled. People got the alt arts they wanted , attention is splitting, and this is the newest biggest card. Do people actually like it? No. It’s not really playable, everyone gripes over the crowns. It’s just the next best thing and people have to spend money. They have to. Probably the same people who paid double for Umbreon v after is spiked . Once All the big sets come out starting with stellar crown it will drop for a little I bet. But it will always be high because it’s rare and greninja. Just overhyped by bored people who don’t know what to buy next. Just my guess.
The value is more justified than other cards because of how strong the card is plus its 1 in 922

The shrouded fable promo is better than this jumbled mess. It looks like a Jackson Pollack painting with a hard to see character in the middle of it. Definitely not a 232 dollar card imo. This market makes zero sense sometimes.

Opened about 12 booster boxes and pulled it. I think it's very rare.. Lots of people with more pulls have had worse times getting it. Anyway my master set is now complete 😊

@@RedDragon_1121 It’s an algorithm that accounts all recent sales for a card. Nobody is sitting there calculating everything, there is 10 million different cards on TCG player. What people are willing to pay is what sets a market price. I feel like I’m stating the obvious.

i agree. the promo greninja destroys this one. much cleaner too. if was actually in the set it would be one of the bigger chases of SV.
Only issue is that once people get the promo they’re going to hunt for this one because the set that promo comes is trash. Unlike twilight which is actually decent.
