My favorite thing about that clip with Quark and Rom popping out into Sisko's office is it's literally the entirety of his appearance that episode, it has absolutely no relevance to the rest of the plot. Presumably Avery's contract means he needs to appear in the episode to get paid so they needed to shoehorn him into a scene, and in my head this was figured out on the day last minute.
I watched through DS9 recently and once you realize this you notice it everywhere. The writers are masters of dealing with it though- often a characters' 1 scene will be both good by itself *and* contribute to either the episdoe's main plot or an ongoing plot arc, yet be over in just a minute or two allowing episodes to focus on two or three characters at a time.
The actors often aren't in at the same time. Avery was probably filming for another episode and they just filmed his little bit for this episode at the same time. If you watch through it all, you'll probably knotice lots of sceans where you never see all the actors in one shot.
@@AlexanderRM1000 My favorite is "The Ascent" where Bashir, Worf, and Dax make one appearance in the transporter room at the end of the episode to collect their check for the week.
Your selection of _DS9_ clips and the way you intercut them with _TNG_ footage to create flashbacks was masterful. There was a real economy to your editing choices that I greatly appreciated. One can hardly imagine being able to find a better selection of clips. Anyone would be hard pressed to make a worthy sequel (or "2nd episode") to this - you pretty much used the most applicable footage. I particularly enjoyed the way you combined the "Worf Klingon Civil War" footage with "Riker on a Klingon ship" clips, to squeeze the most out of the concept. Bravo!!
I can think of the time where Odo was telling Worf about all the security breaches on the Enterprise, as one. Another one maybe when O'Brien and Worf are reminicing about Barclay on the holodeck or the battle to rescue Locutus. Or even using Lwaxana for flashbacks too.
I loved the episode where they tried to sell the self sealing stem bolts to make a profit while Dax was putting together a kidney music concert. And Kiera was like deal breaker, shut it down!
Great editing, in-depth knowledge of star trek media, and the creative vision to know it would work when spliced together. It does end up being very similar to how 30 rock was directed and edited.
This is exceptionally well crafted. It's a very impressive re-edit, and you did a SMASHING job replicating the cuts and feel of 30ROCK. I'm in awe, this is great, and you should totally do more! Of different Star Treks! (I'm biased since I like Trek, but it could be other shows, too) I hope this helps you get editing work, it's quite fantastic!
My god, this is incredible...the music, the comedy beats, the cut aways, the gentle handheld camera shacking-incredible, a master class in editing, well done, and thank you for sharing!! This was amazing!
I'm disturbed by how accurately the algorithm can determine which videos I will enjoy. This one has been in my top two rows for over a week. FINE. ... and now I've signed up to get notified for every upload.
Oh my god that was INCREDIBLE 😂😂😂. I cannot believe how perfectly those scenes come across as a 30 rock episode. It feels EXACTLY like 30 rock lol. And the intro titles, so well done! Please make more of these LOL 😂
The Worf / Keiko delivery flashback: I really appreciate that DS9 acknowledges scenes from TNG that directly and indirectly involves the characters. Mostly for a joke. The writing was A+.
How in the actual fuck are you this into my mind grapes right now?! Also I can't believe the video actually lived up to the title and thumbnail. The subtle camera shake in some of the shots really gave it the 30 rock feel.
I'm absolutely floored by the quality of this. Getting the cross-show clips to inject for the flash-over bits was seamless and perfect in that exact 30-Rock kind of way. First, you've earned a subscribe for putting in that much effort into a double niche parody. This is only going to work for the small demographic that are both DS9 fans, and 30 Rock fans, and you knew that going into it and were just like "ah, fuck it" and decided to put ALL of the effort into making it the best you could. That is the exact attitude that makes our entire species worth a single flying fuck in the grand scheme of things. It's the only trait we have of real value, and it's the attitude that we're going to need in spades if we're going to solve any of the existential challenges we're facing down over the next hundred years. Keep up the good work, please!
This is great, and jus tmakes me realize the funniest part of the scene of the Ferenghi accidentally breaking into Sisko's office: He's NOT DOING ANYTHING. He's just sitting there, it seems like they interrupted him staring blankly into space, and then he just goes right back to it.
First comment on TH-cam... this is what we need. Can we go from "Save Lower Decks" to "Sitcom Lower Decks" (yes, I know it's the same thing, but live action.)
Gives a whole new meaning to "DOCTOR SPACEMAN!!!'

May they never succeed!

Well… give it a couple years.
Worthless gold without latinum!
In before the AI meme revolution.
Editors are the most important part of filmaking. Because this was so clean. The music cues made it work as a comedy!
If this is ai, it shows how replaceable and unimportant editors are
But that dialogue, if a human wrote this with intentions to be funny, it bombed
Next do DS9 Sinfield Parody

The cameras are shaking all over the place, they must have only taken one take.
The actors often aren't in at the same time. Avery was probably filming for another episode and they just filmed his little bit for this episode at the same time. If you watch through it all, you'll probably knotice lots of sceans where you never see all the actors in one shot.

What I love is when they close the door, it clearly sounds like it's made of plywood. On a space station! And it doesn't close all the way!
the absolute best that GE East Cost Microwave Programming has to offer
Your title sequence is is not gold...it's gold-pressed latinum! And the timing of the wormhole closing is...*chef's kiss*

I feel like something good could be done with footage from "Profit and Lace" - making it watchable for the first time!
He just edited it like 30 Rock. It ain’t rocket science, SON!
A 13 effort on a scale of 10.
Matched the clips for the opening credits shockingly well
do do doddle do do DO!
And then the worm hole winks out, on cue.
That's it. Everybody can go home. The internet is completed.
I hate how much I enjoyed this. The "intro" set me off into another plane of existence.
This is heroic level editing.
Nerds! I know I’ve said horrible things about you in the press, but I come today on a mission of peace. This is AMAZING!
Quark's raising his glass right on the trumpet high note of the credits was so perfect
