This is the first I've seen of this game, & trying to collect as many post apocalyptic games as possible--this looks great for solo and multi-player games! Thank you for the playthrough!
I love this game! it's one of the first I played and it still is my favorite, specially since the set-up is faster (scavenge decks to construct - you were right -, tiles, etc.) and they had the clock and the deck to spawn the monsters! (as you said: less random) I also like the fact that we can mix all the characters and the missions, and the campaign is a great bonus! thx for the playthrough! :)
Thanks for doing this review. With the new rules the trickiest part are the Tribe mechanics and the order that monsters attack due to the Allied ability. I also didnt think about having to discard Barn to use Parkour. Rules dont say anything otherwise i suppose. Rules also dont say you discard ALL status effects for Mission 3 at Shelter or when using an Antidote but maybe im reading that wrong. The environmental cadsa make characters that can ignore Status effects a lot stronger andore relevant. Best aspect is the quick set up now. Used to take 30 minutes just to prep the old way.
My all time favorite board game. This game is a GEM amongst any co-op games there are. The theme is so spot on and the challenge levels is just perfect and you can always tweak it so easily to your liking in many different ways The art combined with the wording and it's style are so flawless, it's really a beautiful game to look at all the cards and reading what everything does is such a simple joy! And the way they have connected THEME with MECHANICS in this game is the best I have ever seen!
@@OneStopCoopShop Agreed core set had many issues and I hated the 1st time playing it. But I think the designer of this game has been so clever and fast to adapt, evolve and fix any issues that occured. This has just grown better and better, and with WW it's beyond belief of an improvement than I ever could think of!
Since this is your all time favourite game, maybe you can help answer this question for me. I just acquired the Legendary edition of the game, as well as the wasted wild expansion, does LE give me the same gameplay experience as the 2nd edition core game they more recently released?
@@anab0lic Hey man! I would say that LE+WW is just fine. I overlooked the 2nd edition but it seems it's just an updated core game experience. I do however wonder if WW come with the updated scenario book? The LE probably has the mission cards on... normal cards right? Since I got kickstarters I don't really know what is excluded from the ordinary components. Buying 2nd edition let you have the book of updated standard scenarios (you know, zombies to mutants to robots to aliens) the whole ordeal, but with a much deeper narrative element and so on. WW let you have the pre-organized loot decks too which is really nice and save a lot of set-up time. But if you already have the LE box I would not think buying 2nd edition will get you much more that you don't already have. You can find the "updated mission booklet" online and just print it yourself anyways if you like. Anyways, if you have more questions I could help you look it up if you like! Hope my answer give you any better clarity
Good vid! But I think there is a mistake. At 34:15, during the Spawn Monster Phase, you get a "2". The Chef is the Back Roads that has a "2". He should get a Monster Card. I love the game! It's one of my favourites since I get the Legendary Edition.
I got the Legendary Edition a couple of years ago and absolutely loved it. I'm a sucker for modular tile games like this. The KS Wasted Wilds came in a couple weeks ago, still unwrapped. I'll be getting to that soon. I think you can combine Legendary with WW, from what I read. Can you confirm if that's possible?
Thanks for your thoughts, Mike! I backed and received Wasted Wilds awhile ago. I moved Legendary Edition on way back due to the enemies and monsters being similar - i.e. a zombie dog is similar to an low-level alien in terms of damage and effect. Things just didn’t feel different enough despite the variety of apocalypse themes. WW addresses the long setup time, adds some engaging mechanisms, and reworks the original missions to be compatible, but in your opinion, do you think it does enough to make it worth re-acquiring the Legendary Edition? Or is Wasted Wilds sufficient to stand on its own? Thanks!
Just saw below that Rock Manor are putting out new editions and getting rid of Legendary edition. Splitting up the content into a trilogy makes sense and for an easier and more gradual buy-in
Help me! What are the best changes, and how do i implement them in my old stuff i own. I want to play more, but rules as written make it so hard. What ruels changes can i just use without new components, and what does everyone do with house rules for difficulty adjustment? Thank you!

The whole thing is basically set up as one-offs. There are sometimes minor things that carry over (that you can pretty much ignore). But it’s really a series of scenarios with connective narrative

I agree, this version looks much stronger than the original one. It addresses pretty much all of my concerns.
Yeah, and now I'm tempted to buy more, like the Legendary set... :(
Absolutely loving the art style
It's really nice. Some of the stuff gives me fallout vibes (like the cover art reminds me of the Enclave).

Correct. WW even comes with a mission log of old stuff updated to the current WW scavenge decks.
@@Trogdor_Strongbraid excellent, thanks!
Thanks!
Just to clarify:
Is it possible to implement all the update rules with the original game (/deluxe collection) ?
I’m not sure which components are in which versions. For example, I think there has been a spawn deck for a while but I’m not sure
Yes. But you need wasted wilds to do it.

I’m curious to get legendary edition or the new edition releases, but I think I’ll beat all of wasted wilds first ;)
I’ll take that sentiment as some prudent and very welcome advice for myself. Best not to get too far ahead. Heh.
Unless I missed something, the Butcher should have picked up a monster on his second to last turn. He was on a tile with a 2.
Probably! Been over a year since I played 😅

Can you combine everything released for maximum apocalypse together? Like use a character from wasted wilds in the legendary edition?
I think? I’m a little confused by the integration between legendary edition and 2nd edition myself

It looks like they are finally releasing a 2nd edition of the core game. It appears that it incorporates the changes they made in wasted wilds?
Separate from the fairly recent Legendary Edition that collected everything together?
