HOMIES: "Based on a true story doesn't mean It Is completely true". They are absolutely right. The true story behind this movie it's 1000 times more frightening than the movie itself.
The movie is pure fiction. It's about ghosts, which don't exist, so how can it be based on a true story?
Apparently people need to hear this. This is why you believe in ghosts and fairies and whatnot:
Pattern recognition: humans are wired to recognize patterns, even in random stimuli. This tendency can lead to seeing meaningful connections or interpreting random events as paranormal.
Cognitive Dissonance: once someone adopts a paranormal belief, they may experience cognitive dissonance and seek out information or experiences that confirm their existing beliefs while dismissing contradictory evidence.
Cultural bias: people inherit paranormal beliefs from their families or communities, and these beliefs become deeply ingrained.
Media and pop culture: exposure to paranormal themes in movies, tv shows, books, and online media contribute to the normalization and acceptance of paranormal ideas.
Sense of control: believing in the paranormal can provide a sense of control in situations where uncertainty or lack of control is prevalent.
Need for meaning for the less than intelligent: people may to paranormal explanations when facing difficult or unexplainable circumstances as a way to find meaning or purpose.
Anecdotal evidence: anecdotes, while subjective, strongly influence beliefs of the weak of mind.
Coping mechanisms: believing in an afterlife or the ability to communicate with the deceased can be a coping mechanism for dealing with grief or trauma.
Fear of the unknown: the unknown and uncertainty about the future can lead people to seek explanations in the supernatural realm.
Fear of death: believing in an afterlife or communication with spirits can provide comfort and alleviate fear of mortality.
Conformity: people adopt paranormal beliefs due to social pressure or a desire to conform to the beliefs of their social circles.
@@mian6788 Because demons exist & in rare cases God allow them to act in a sensible way. The Perron family suffered because of the demons & even experts studying the case collected proofs of paranormal activities. In the last years, thanks to the new technology, even though police bodycam & official public services' cameras we've a lot of evidence that immaterial beings exist.
I don't believe in Ghost because the bible teach that as soon as the person die Is judged by God & goes in the Eternal happiness or in hell (2Cor 5,20 / Luke 6, 19-31) or in purgatory to be purified by Fire before than to enter in Heaven (2Maccabees 12, 43-46).
Demons, instead, are always around us to tempt, to devour people by turning them against God (1Peter 5, 8-9) & sometimes he act in extraordinary ways (Job 1, 18-19).

It's easy to be brave to watch it with four friends on a couch holding hands watch it alone in the dark with no one to comfort you see how much you laugh then 😆
Ashleigh, Natalie Gold and Popcorn in bed usually do solo reactions, Ashleigh laughs a bit, the other two usually we laugh at how scared they get. You, me and the movies and TBR Schmidt are couple reactions and they are pretty funny.
I watched it in a theater with just my cousin, scary as fk lol.
I find both Conjuring movies great as equals, they're great in there own right.

Cool little detail is that at 21:04 it actually starts to say Valak when asked what they should call it.

This one is closer to the real story than the first one was though how much? I am not sure other than the beds actually banging like they did in the movie,the chair moving when the cops came to investigate and the dresser getting pushed to the bedroom door and closing it. Also Janet being strangled by the curtain and being stuck in the room with all the crosses is true as well. The set was also more accuret by the real house as well. I saw a video of the real family being reunited with Lorraine on set it was so emotional. Good reaction as always but i do not agree that this one is scarier than the first one..the first Conjuring to me will always be the best in the fanchise and the scariest as well.
Wait so all that happened in real life?😭 Jesus Christ I thought there were only some aspects of it that actually took place. That’s terrifying and is gonna make me more scared of the movie the next time I watch it lol.

@@latinasawntop Valak, Crooked man were added for the film, also the Warrens were not welcome at first, as everyone thought they were only there for fame. Everything else is true... including the news and police witnessing events, apparently the police were so scared they rushed out the house, made a report and never went there again. Also the tree getting struck by lightning was also true.
I am from London and not far from where this happened... it has become a horror story and everyone saw the news, photo's, videos and sounds recordings when it happened. That house is similar to mine and is just over 100 years old... lots of us have seen or heard things we cant explain... and if i told you what i have seen or heard in my house you would never sleep again...😰

I've just been to the Cinema to see Prey for the Devil, that's really good. Some good scares in that. Also, I saw Barbarian, but I left before the end, that was good up until when I left. Somebody had sneaked some food in that they shouldn't have, a pizza maybe, and it stunk the whole cinema out with meat and garlic.
i lived round the corner from the house in this before moving back to ireland so i always loved watching this film

Guys you shouldnt be bothered about some music between dialogues that will get copyrighted some other youtubers are putting a lot of dialogues in the videos even there is music in between...so add those dialogues because sometimes it will feels boring when we cant hear any audio for a few minutes or hear dialogues...so next time editing add mor3 dialogues dont bother about the music in between..i bet others do have the same suggestion.
Something to know homes created back in like the 1800-1900’s they’re very old and unless they were renovated, they’re not structural sound which means that after years of wear and tear, and getting old…..they start to break down hence the fall into the floor

The cross turned upside down is an offense to Christ, turns a holy relic to unholy. BTW Valek is a “male” demon, it appeared in a nuns outfit Lorainne said likely to offend God (being a male demon in a holy nun (female) dress. Makes it more creepy to me. Some of the audio clips in the movie are the actual 1973 recordings, and the end of the movie has some real stuff too. The police reports of those officers are online as well, they lost their jobs tho after refusing to retract their reports. (They refused to deny what they saw) there is SO much stuff online with this one, the new paper articles, TV spots and interviews , audio etc it makes it much more creepy!

"Enfield haunting " is a true story from late 70s with real characters in Ed and Lorraine.

Absolutely zero connection with Ed's childhood demon story just trying to comfort a little girl
This actually happened and even went sorta' "viral" in the press back in the days. But wheather if it went down as a paranormal event and a possession is like 50/50, but "what if". Allthough the movies about Ed and Lorraines incidents are usually not as terrifying as it was in real life as it was considered too scary for mainstream. There are actual documentary's where you even get to see the actual Police report in black and white and even some audio recordings from the real possession for those who dare to check it out.
Did policemen in real see chairs moving on their own? In the movie, 2 policemen saw that. It cannot get more obvious than that.

If you read the book house of darkness house of light that the first movie is based on and the short documentary the Enfield poltergeist is based on you'll realize the term "based on a true story" is a vague term. F'in Game of Thrones is more historically accurate than these cheap jump scare movies
