Great to revisit Prince George. 50 years ago I did a ride from California to Prince George, down through the Rockies, over to Yellowstone then back home. Have to say, todays video illustrate how things change over time. As an aside, we also have some big trees in Cali. Visit sometime. Cheers!
Prince George sound like very nice place as what I have read around it. Dates back to 1807. On your tour very interesting people when swimming in cold water. well only sort got catch up on the rest of theses tour videos.
Hi Andy. You asked what the 'industry' was when you were crossing the bridge there in Prince George. What you saw were pulp mills and our local refinery. The pulp mills produce pulp and paper and the refinery produces petroleum products. The river you were crossing is the Fraser River. Too bad I missed you as Prince George is my hometown. Quite a bit smaller than Anchorage though....
I am thoroughly enjoying this series..you do an extremely brilliant job of shooting, organizing and editing your videos. Having tried ( and sadly failed) earlier this year while in Scotland I appreciate your many skills. Ride Safe!
@@TheMissendenFlyer No problem Andy. The parts you have seen in BC are beautiful but, to be honest most of it lives up to the vehicle licence plate logo, "Beautiful British Columbia"!
I lived in Prince George for 15 years and drove or rode past the "Ancient Forests" site more times than I can remember without taking the hike. Now you did it for me so thanks for doing all that uphill walking. You didn't mention that the trail to the big cedars is located in Sugar Bowl (geographic feature) Grizzly Den Provincial Park. Small story for you Andy. My wife who’s Canadian her parents used to live in Prince George. I came over when I was still stationed in the Army in Warminster and we drove from Calgary to Prince George to meet them and tell them we were getting married 😂😂 The look on their faces this English guy all the way from Yorkshire was stealing their only daughter. They have a Sustainability page on their website, looks very favourable. 80% power sufficient too. Talking about big trees, wait till you get to Vancouver Island and the huge Douglas Firs there and also elsewhere in BC. They are about 12 -15 ft wide and 150ft tall...
Nice to see Prince George again, enjoy the sulphur dioxide smell from the Pulp mills. My father said it was the smell of money. You probably rode past my old high school down the Hart highway, it was a rough place to grow up. But to you, it’s just scenery. Cheers.
I always found the road a day's ride into and out of Prince George fairly mind-numbing. You're getting to the really good stuff though when you hit Jasper though!!!
Very cool TMF, another visually stunning episode. Got me thinking what the people who live there see everyday & what I see everyday. They win big time lol.
