  • David Easterbrook visits the vibrant Dan Robinson for a generous tour of his sanctuary Elandan Gardens located in Washington state. The 84 year-old war veteran is a pillar of the American bonsai movement. He shares with us his grandiose lifelong commitment to gnarly trees.

    Dan's garden is so full of stories. I must have walked past that buttonwood deadwood a hundred times and always assumed it was juniper deadwood lol. There's always more to lean from Dan

    I'm in north Alabama and I leave my tridents out during winter . I had no ideal they didn't like cold weather. Is that true?

      roots are just more susceptible to damage from freezing temperatures than acers or other similar trees.
