The Corsair was very dangerously hard to land on the carrier but thanks to the British mods. He adopt those mod’s and it made the planes Performance all the more better for the remainder of the ww2 until the Korean War and the soccer war
Random fun thing about the Corsairs is thst you can use the landing gear like an airbrake, which was a thing possible irl. I’ve done it on the Japanese F4U all the way up to the Super Corsair and is a wonderful thing to pull out as a last ditch effort.
Notes from a beginner: Anytime I fly this plane looking for kills, I fail. Miserably. However, when I make it my goal to just practice making passes and then restore my energy, whether I fire a single round or not, I end up with a couple of kills. The difference in mindset affects my decision making during the attack. And my enjoyment of the plane. I hope this helps my fellow ADHD pilots to ignore the squirrel. Stay focused. Peace.
As a former Marine I get super excited every time a video on this plane comes out. It’s one of the first planes I got good results in. Now that it’s 3.0 this thing is going to be unstoppable
Almost all of air rb's current problems, like good planes that aren't turn fighters being lowered in BR, could basically be traced back to the change to 25min limit. New players probably feel they have to get in and "get theirs" before the game ends, and also stop the ticket bleed from ground pounders.

I was quite excited that this aircraft was available and so I got it as quickly as possible. (I loved watching the Baa Baa Black sheep tv show when I was a kid) Unfortunately, being new to WT it was too much aircraft for my abilities. The Japan premium F4U-1A has the same stats as this version and was 2.7 - absolute clubber. They finally made them both the same BR - 3.0. But yeah, they both should be 3.3.
I just want to give credit to @Jengar for helping me be the pilot I am today. Everything he teaches are real tactics that work and make you a better pilot. No other Warthunder YT creator does what @Jengar does. Follow his advice and practice, practice, practice. Kills and deaths dont make you a good or bad pilot. They really mean nothing if youre not using actual repeatable flight tactics. Anyone can charge into a furball and get a few lucky kills but eventually you will die and the last plane standing will be the one who follows effective ACM and knows how to use his energy effectively.
I just came back to playing since I started back in 2013 and rushed leveling to get the USMC Corsair. Love it. But I am sort of disappointed it doesn’t have any cannons or rockets until way later in the tree. Still though I’m enjoying learning how to fly it.
I played a lot of the Italian p47, got a ton of aces and realised i really likes BnZ and 50cals. So far ive just started and ive been having fun in the P400. Ill see about one of these ig

@@jengar6258 Yes sir. My grandfather (R.I.P.) was a Navy carrier crew chief during WWII who did the maintenance and pre flight checks on the F4U and other planes as well. He always loved the F4U in particular and claimed they were the most versatile aircraft made to date. They could do anything. Any mission. The enemy were terrified of a squadron of F4U.
It makes sense that it was lowered there was already 3.3 corsair below it that's better in like every way. So why would anyone want a worse corsair at the same br so now at 3.0 it is perfect.

Personally the move down to 3.0 might bring more problems. People think American planes (new players) can turn fight, there's those Ki from Japan, 109's, Spits that will easily out turn this old girl.
When you want firepower or well, nice agility, the -39 is a good choice. When you want speed, great roll rate, high speed maneuverability and consistent 6 .50 mgs the Corsair is a good hoice
Jengar in WT Corsair isn't much a turn fighter in the common engagement, unless if you use flap. Although in the flight sim I play Aces High with flap lowered and even landing gear down it can turn with some of the tightest turning planes.
@@jengar6258 I know that. I was mentioning about the use of flap. Nothing wrong with War Thunder, but it doesn't give you the ability to set flaps to what you want for combat as in put 1 or 2 even 3 notches manually to help with turning. In the flight sim I am in you can do that, and even drop the gear at 200mph to reduce speed as a speed break, and it can turn very very well.
original 1a because its at the BR 2.7 and the 1C and 1D are SLOWER. 1a USMC is barely faster (by like 5kmh or so and get to 6km a couple seconds quicker). the USMC has the better official skins though.
Definitely the 1a, since i use the japanese version for money grinding and its very good at it. And never talk about the f2g again, nobody likes that plane it's spammed to oblivion

I havent unlocked it yet but I was excited to see a USMC version aircraft in the game. Im having a great deal of trouble learning how to play the one I have. I do "ok" with almost all of the tier 1 aircraft and I was doing ok with my P-400 but I find the Corsair hard to control. I dont think I have even 1 kill and ive been shot down by just about everything.
No. It is 3.0. However, in June of 2023, the repair cost will be cut in half but the SL modifier will remain the same. Otherwise, they are the same plane. What the Japsair gives you is the ability to fight against the US. At this br the US is notorious for not climbing.

It's the players. Like Jengar said in the video the players try to turnfight in anything they fly. That is the meta and that's why zeros were being moved up and some of the American planes going down in BR. Japanese Corsair is an exception because it has a reputation among experienced players for being a SL grinder at a low br
BR changes based on average player performance (K/D) is not completely insane Idea imo. In some cases tho, it may be ruining the game. E3 on 2,3? Wtf? This bird on 3,0 is a joke, but the most ridiculous plane in game, the Japsair being a looong time on 2,7 BR, it was just a "war crime". Just disgusting.. at least it went to 3.0, but anyway, still pretty much unfair. The same or similar should be applied on KABB, it can easily be 3,3...
Sadly, there are skilled players abusing these planes with their squads to have some "fun" by ruining the game for others.. Gaijin however in many cases found the way to ballance this by "silent nerfs".. like worse handling, severe overheating or, which is kind of neat, more load of min. fuel, making planes more sluggish and not really well climbing.

I still hate the F4U-1a for being too easy to burn. The first two Corsairs are unforgiving as hell, if you screw up you get lit on fire. It's a fragile plane compared to the almighty F4U-1D

This plane is an great low tier grinder. 42,000 sl for 6 kills without boosters or premium time is a great yield for a 3.0 fighter

iirc the inverted gull wings are due to ground clearance for the propeller.

The F4U-1D at 3.3 can carry 8 rockets or 2 1000lb bombs, really everything you need

Actually it is in-game! (F2G-1) It is available to PC players on the Gaijin market for relatively cheap if you missed the event to earn it.

Between the corsair and the P-39 is very hard choice the best American fighter in tier 2

Why is the Japanese version of the f4u 1a going to 3.0?? It’s literally identical to the 2.7 one in the US
i think its identical to this one, and thus 3.0 is fine, its been too low all this time anyways.
How do you fight against P-39's in the 3.0 corsairs? They seem to be faster and more manuverable.
rollrate on the corsairs is better, as is high speed turning, lower speeds is advantage for the p-39's.

U are lying to me...max speed is realisticl around 350 km/h and it rips apart just from a sight of a bullet going its way

I dont know what your on, those planes really can take some punishment, I've gotten to base many a time with the 1a
