Hi Erica it’s a nutrient film system, the nutrients are in the tank at the bottom and are pumped to the top. It just runs through the guttering through the roots and then down a drain at the end back to the tank.
Not far off! It was at the end of summer last year, the garden centre tend to sell off any plants still left from spring and summer for 75% off or more.
They were Kroptek tube lights, they were more pink looking in real life but the camera has made them look bluer than they were. I think they had 4 red LEDs for every 1 blue and 1 white.

how to you deal with pests that comes with plants if you dont grow them from seed?
Great question, there was hydrogen peroxide in the nutrient solution and they were fogged weekly with hydrogen peroxide too with everything else.
