Surely one of the greatest comedians to have lived. No gimmicks. No shock value. No 'edgy' stuff for the sake of it. Just sheer bloody talent. He was brilliant.
I am going on 62 and have been around this planet all obver the place and seen great comedians but non have come anywere close to him. Hes is the greatest there ever was.
I was approached, when queuing in a bank, by a young lady. Trying to get me to have a credit card, I said , No thanks, she said, you can buy anything on it and pay monthly, and only pay whatever percent a month, I replied with my voice a little louder, I would rather save up and buy what I want and pay No Interest. She looked at me with a look of incredulity on her face and moved on. One or two in the queue smiled.😀
Have you noticed they've closed all the post offices and moved them into places that you either need a chart and compass to find ,or the nearest parking is half a mile away then close what's left because they say that no one uses them .A truly brilliant comedian who is certainly up with the best of the best ,thank you for putting Dave on

It was always exciting to see Dave Allen on the TV when I was a youngster and to be able to access his routines whenever I feel like it as an adult is such a pleasure. I remember him well, smoking, drinking whiskey, riffing about religion and introducing his sketches - on prime time TV.
One of the greatest comedians/story-tellers from back in the days when people really believed that banks lent money, whereas the amount you wanted to “borrow” was only created after you signed the commitment to pay them the amount; on top of which were fees and compound interest payments, the money for which was never created. This legalised extortion has created massive unpayable debt burdens and social disruption. Would have been great to have Dave Allen’s humour and wit with us today.
I was once told by a bank teller that I could do all the transactions I required at their automated bank machines. I replied “I’d sooner come to you guys and keep you all in a job.” She had no reply to that.
@@secondchance6603 Most of them do, but they’re forced to hit targets for transfers to online etc for so many accounts a day or they get bad performance reviews, and booted out the door. So they’re in a lose lose situation. (Mum is a bank teller)
