Just learned how to do this for my new channel trailer. I am 100% serious when I say this is the best Photoshop tutorial I've EVER watched! Thank you so much!
@@Scoby Hi man. I love this straight to the point, no nonsense, no bs tutorial. Can you do a reverse of this video, where the background is color, but the focus object is black and white, please?
Quick, easy, and concise without assuming the viewer knows all of the hot-keys while also not boring us to death with a too basic "This is this; this is this again, and this is this again." Thank you.
Very happy to help! I try to give the needed information and leave out anything not needed. Sometimes a back story/info is required but I try to keep these to a minimum! :)
This video was perfect! Usually trying to figure out techniques thru youtube is stressful but this video was straight to the point and taught me exactly what i wanted to learn
Scoby Tech thanks I worked it out, I used selection tool, once selected just went straight to hue and it was done. Sorry I only got photoshop today so new is an understatement, thanks again
question, how can i change a solid vector image into multiple colors? it's an image that have figures in it but i want to change the color of some of them
So I’m trying to do the inverse of this with a color background and a black and white object. I can recollect the object however when I make the background visible again the image record the object I made black and white. What can I do to fix that?
I was looking for the easier way of doing via duplicating the picture, copying and pasting one on top of the other, making one black and white, then with the eraser tool simply rub out the area you want to keep coloured. I know how to do this in Paint Shop Pro but need to find out how to do it in Adobe Photoshop?
@@Scoby not quite as straightforward. Far more time consuming using the selection tool than the much simpler way I mentioned. Is this the only way it can be done in Photoshop or are there any different methods?
The selection tool is much quicker than manually brushing once you learn it so I disagree there. You can still use the method I've shown in the videos instead of selecting first, just brush and remove the parts of the image manually :) Same result!
@@Scoby Thanks for the tips. But mate, honestly, as someone who has just come from using the very user friendly Paint Shop Pro to now trying to navigate my way into Adobe Photoshop, it has certainly struck me how much more involved and complex the steps seem to be. Everything seems to be shortcut commands, Alt this, Ctrl that, etc. very frustrating. Even simple things like zooming in and out seem to require the use of a shortcut key. But not to worry, I will persist with the challenge, hopefully things become easier soon. Thanks again, mate. Cheers.
You got it, learning new tools is always frustrating. This is what we call the "adobe" problem, how to make it easy to use for new people while keeping experienced users quick and happy, once you get the hang of it, it's really quite quick and extremely powerful and versatile. :)
Hold "ALT" while hovering between the layers. This create a mask for the top layer, that it will only show/effect the masked layer, in this case the layer before, the one the arrow points towards
I've slowed down a bit in future videos, but, the speed is tricky, some people like it, others not. Either way we have speed controls on TH-cam, so find what works for you :)

What are the shortcuts on Mac?
Just replace anything I mentioned of ctrl with CMD :)

Did you have to pay for this software?

I hope that clear things up, it can be confusing at first, but once you try it a few times it will make things clearer
@@Scoby okay I get it, thanks
Thank you for the info... but please talk SLOWER...
I've slowed down a bit in future videos, but, the speed is tricky, some people like it, others not.
Either way we have speed controls on TH-cam, so find what works for you :)
So basically,
Magic Wand, select what you want.
Ctrl Alt J to make new layer.
Pretty much :)
sus
You kinda sus
Too fast
You can use the TH-cam speed controls
