Thank you Rudy, someone left a massive tv 60" lg next to the trash (so I guess a neighbor) I fixed the ld problem it had, by changing all led strings...today I got a new wonderfull tv for 35 pounds...from london, thank you yassine
Thanks! Got a free TV because of this fix! Guy was throwing it out due to the backlight dimming and turning blue. Saw this video, bought the LEDs on Amazon and in an hour fixed the whole thing.
Does this work for a lg tv screen that is completely blue??? Because I tried everything but changing the backlighting so far and no luck... Jw thankxxx
I kinda doubt it... Is it flashing blue? Blue tint? Solid blue? The back lights are just white. If you have a blue screen that means the white lights are lighting up the screen, but it's all blue...@@fuckdaopps13
@@JLPicard440 last night , in non stop 3 hours, unassembled TV, found led strip problem, replaced all strips, tested LEDs before assembling it back. Everything went smoothly and I was confident but when switched on, the screen is totally black now, not even flashing like before. Tired seeing it in a dark room if back lights are working but found no sign of it. I will try to disassemble one more time and check.
just cracked the screen at 20:42 .... :( , I didn't think it was that fragile. Otherwise, backlight replacement was easy to follow. thank you. Is it worth ordering a screen or buy a new TV?
Ouch! That's terrible. I don't know what a screen would cost, but I have a feeling it's more than the TV is worth. New TVs are generally pretty reasonable these days. If it were me, I'd probably get another one...
Hey Rudy, Good to see you in here. I always wondered what the inside of a flat screen TV looked like. Now I know. Nice easy to follow video. You make it easy. Good job.
This is amazing! You are the greatest 👏👏👏👏😃 my brother will try it and I do not have to buy a new TV 🎉🎉🎉😂😂😂 Thanks a lot and greatings from vienna/Austria 😂
If you have a harbor freight in your area it's best if you use the suction cups. You can try to pick it up, but you may get finger prints on the inside or damage the screen...
From one Rudy to another i wish i had seen your video before taking my t.v. apart. Its been about 3 weeks since i took it apart. Just got the parts and i have no idea which order i took the 3 flat pieces off in. You were 100% correct in saying take them all off together. I also laid them flat on the carpet. 😢
I used this to replace the LED’s on my 75” LG because they were getting dim and blue. I was really careful the whole way through and got it all back together and there’s no backlight at all now 😔 and it just shows a very dim LG logo. Tomorrow I’m going to take it all the way apart again to check my connections on the LED’s but what else could I have missed? I don’t have an LED tester but I do have a multimeter. Any suggestions?
Definitely something wrong with how they’re manufactured. I got a tester and using the test pads the best I’ve been able to get lit for a brief time was 1 short of a full strip. Thinking maybe I just needed to terminate the last one in the chain with a jumper I soldered in a wire and still no luck. The strips for the LG 75UM6970PUB don’t use jumpers from the factory but I figured either it works and I keep them or they’re getting returned to Amazon l and I have to wait several days with a dismantled TV in my dining room for another set of LED’s. I bought the PANMILED brand originally, any recommendations on a QUALITY set of LEDs? Are there more reputable brands?
HI Scott, I used to work on TVs many years ago, but I don't do it everyday anymore. I don't have a brand recommendation for you except to read the reviews on the different ones. I don't like going with ones that only have a "few" reviews. Like less than 10 or so, that's just me of course. If you've got a tester can you test some of the ones you took out to see if they light up? If they do then do that same test to all the new ones too and make sure they all work. Maybe if some of the new ones don't work, you can sub them out for an old one? I haven't seen your situation so I don't know if that'll work or not.
Thanks for your help! For some reason it seems people with the level of knowledge to do these types of repairs aren’t the most willing to help others. With a tester I have been able to get 10 out of 11 LEDs to light simultaneously on the replacement strips I currently have but as soon as I include the 11th LED in the circuit it won’t light any. When 10/11 light, the tester reads 52v. I can move over to my old set of LEDs and get all 11 on a strip to light (they are very blue but still work) and the tester reads 56.5v so to me that says the tester is capable of powering them and isn’t faulty. I can’t for the life of me figure out what is wrong with the circuit on these new strips that’s preventing all 11 to light. I have a new set coming this time from eBay so hopefully they are from a better batch, even though the same brand and they have a better sales history.
Oh wow... Yea 10/11 lighting does sound like a problem. I've found that some of the things you get from well, we'll just call it an "online store" aren't the best. I've experienced that on other items too, not just replacement parts. Some are good and some are not so good. I hope the ones you're getting will solve the issue for you. I guess you can't send back the ones you got already? Probably not since they've been installed, but maybe since they were defective. Might be worth a try.
HI... I'm sure the procedure will be similar, but I can't say it's the same. I haven't had the opportunity to work on a 65"... The LEDs will undoubtedly be different..
Don’t have a multimeter to test but all my lights are flashing in unison. Is that an indicator in any way of it being either the power board or lights?
HI,... Did I leave a link in the description for the ones I used? If not, try to search Amazon for Led strips for LG 50" TV. I believe that was where I got them..
Hi, your video is extremely informative; I wish I would have watched it prior to attempting my repair. I have a question about an issue I ran into on the step prior to re installing the speakers. Can I ask you offline? Thanks so much?
I got the same TV -55UH8500-UA - and no one knows how to repair it. Anyone wants it? How much you offer? It’s the same backlight issue except mine shows the screen for like 1 minute before you can’t see it but you can still hear everything.

HI Yassine! Sounds like you got a great deal on both TVs! I think 35 pounds is about 44 dollars so a great deal... 😁
Thats where it went, I left if for the repair shop to pick it up.
Thanks! Fixed my TV with this. It saved me from having to go without a TV (as I can't afford to buy a new one right now).
