    One reminder to someone doing this, is to be carefull with the rebon cables connecting the screen to the board. Its not clearly shown how to disconnect these.

    Just followed the video and replacing the led strips is a easy fix. Sadly I damaged the lcd panel when applying pressure to clip the bezel back in place. Take care when clipping back into place.

    Brilliant video, thanks! I typed my model number into Ali Express and found the backlight easily enough; the LEDs arrived and already had tape attached to them so easy to fit without the need to buy more tape. One thing to be careful of! When putting the frame back on the front take care as not to crack the LCD panel. I now have a small but annoying dark spot on my TV due to not being careful enough... Other than that, the TV works as new. Cheers!

    I have fitted quite a few LED sets in TVs and I always think that the manufacturers should have designed them so that the LEDs could be changed without screen removal. The metal plate should have been made to be detached by removing a few screws and lifted away hence no screen removal and no breakage risk.

    • @timb7328
      @timb7328 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      They dont want that, they want us to buy new ones....TVs lasting 15 years in the past killed their bottom lines lol.... it is tough on the smaller ones but im sure you found out the big screens are even tougher, they are so fragile replacing the LEDs can often lead to cracking them...you need a large well laid out area and be very very careful and CRACK they still can break lol. Then on top of it all they change up the led strips with almost every model.

    • @johnhepworth1531
      @johnhepworth1531 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@timb7328 I agree, I won't do LED replacement in sets made by UMC because the nuggets have a habit of putting a bead of glue along the top edge of the screen. It's like they did it for a laugh. I have been a TV service engineer for 41years and I really miss CRT TV repair.

    This video is amazing. I had the exact issue, and with the help of this video, I was able to fix my TV. Thank you so much. You saved me a lot of money.
    Note to first timers: At around the 2:33-2:34 mark, the guy appears to unclip something. This took me a while to figure out what as he does it quickly, but if you look at the part where the ribbon goes in, there is a black/brown piece that looks like a part of the PCB and which can't move, but it can. That is what he flicked.
    Also, careful when reassembling. I unfortunately damaged the TV a little (really a tiny bit, so I'm not too upset) when I but the plastic frame back on after having put the black LCD on. The LCD is obviously very senstive, so if you put too much pressure, it will damage the TV.

      I need to write my disappointing end result. I ordered LED strips from Aliexpress. Came in 3 weeks. The led spacing and diameter was different, amount was same. I had to cut new holes to the bottom white "paper". Everything else went ok. Upon assembly I noticed that I had cracked the corner of the LCD few centimeters. Once assembled - nothing. Red led at bottom turns on and flashes some code, but nothing on screen. I tried to go back and check LED connection but screen cracked even more.
      I don't know where I made the mistake. Maybe I damaged the panel cables when removing them or maybe all 3 strips were broken (hard to believe).
      Advice for others: Be extra careful with the panel. Prepare soft place were you will put it during backlight replacement. Extra pair of hands would be good. Even 43" is pretty flexible. Bigger size panel management would be horrible.

      @@muhamedtrimi7820 Thanks for your reply. I didn’t get a notification for your message. I still have the TV as have put it to the side to have a look at another time. I will re-evaluate the LED Situation again and ensure that I did buy the correct lights. They looked the same as the ones that were removed. They had the same quantities of LEDs and the alignment holes were in the same positions along with the plugs being the same too, so I don’t know. I’ll have another look sometime. Thanks again.

    Thank you for this video, very encouraging me to repair my 43" for a few bucks instead of throwing away 99% well-working components. Just one question : is there a step in the process i should be particularly careful? It seems easy looking at you, but I worry breaking some else part trying to fix one. Thx

      Be careful taking the frame off that holds the screen/filters etc. I broke a few clips off cause it was so tight but other than that it was smooth sailing. Follow the video step by step.

      Hello, yes Weller is for more heavy jobs, its my first professional soldering station it does great job in past and tips super cheap, now Im using JBC its expensive and tips extremely expensive for more precision jobs.

    • @MrAtesz33
      @MrAtesz33 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello. I also used a Weller soldering station for my work, type WSP 80. I have also been using a JBC soldering station for about 7 years. Very good, I like it. You can quickly change tips while soldering. It's great that it switches off in sleep mode when I'm not using it. This protects the soldering tip.
      After that, it reaches the set temperature very quickly. A knife type tip is very good in most cases. It's not cheap, but it's worth the price. In Hungary, JBC stations are also used in the Samsung television factory. I repair televisions.
