The Capt. of the boat the band went out on is the son of the last survivor of the Bismarck. The name painted on that boat is Primo Victoria, which is the name of the first Sabaton album released, the title track is about D-day at Normandy. The Bismarck had sunk the British battlecruiser HMS Hood, only 3 of 1418 survived. You ask for another top Sabaton song, Christmas Truce music video is one. The oldest was shot on Christmas Eve 1943 by a low -flyer in Oslo Norway. It is located there in the hero cemetery with a view of the fjord. My mother died 3 years ago and I was alone. Through my late friends Bernd "Nossi" Noske and Bruno Frenzel and Horst Stachelhaus from the German rock band Birth Control, I already stood in front of and behind the stage with the biggest of the bigest. So this song pretty much sums it up. Bismarck was a German Warship and it was never supposed to sink. It was one of the strongest Battleships during WW2. As Sabaton says, “It rules the Seas” as it did!
Did you notice the pocket watch?. The youg sailor was given the pocket watch by his captain he swam to the enemy handing himself in to capture. The man at the dock who hired the boat to Sabaton has the pocket watch probably passed down by his father?.

Both Bismarck and Tirpitz were over 50,000 tons when loaded. Then the Japanese Imperial Navy in the Pacific had their own Super Battleships called, " Yamato," and "Musashi." But those two Battleships were even larger then the Bismarck and Tirpitz, like little over 72,000 tons when loaded and also with the largest Naval Guns (18.1 inches) that were ever used in the South Pacific in World War II. Then the US Navy was about to create their own Super Battleship to counter Yamato and Musashi, with Montana Class Battleships, the first Montana Class Battleship would have been called, "USS Montana." "The Balad of Bull" is a great (slower) WW2 song abt an Australian Soldier in the Pacific who saved the lives of a # of American Soldiers. "Dreadnought" is a WW1 Navy song abt the Battle of Juttland. "The Last Stand" is a banger abt the Sack of Rome in 1527. "Blood of Bannockburn" is a banger abt the English/Scottish Civil War. "Wolfpack" is another good WW2 (Battle of the Atlantic) song abt the British Royal Navy & German Submarines. "The Unkillable Solder" "The First Soldier" & "1916" are great. BTW, every couple of seconds the visuals tell another piece of the story of Bismarck's first and only sortie. Like, even when their boat is flown over by a flying boat, yeah, that happened, the Brits nearly attacked a different boat after a recon flight mistook it for the Bismarck. Even such details as the ship flipping over and the turrets falling off... yeah, although the Bismarck was found on the bottom upright, the turrets were at a distance, so at some point it flipped over.

This video and the song primo Victoria video where done by a small video game company the gaming company was looking for a way to introduce the ship Bismarck into its game they asked sabaton if they could come up with a song and in turn they would help with the production of the music video the gaming company later did the video for primo Victoria and gave sabaton their own premium tank in the game... The gaming company is Warr gaming and the games are world of tanks and warships enjoy

This video was like a finger of God and I started my search again. What was impossible in GDR times now became true. I found the name of my uncle on the crewlist of the Bismarck. For this I am grateful to the guys from Sabaton forever. After 80 years they completed my family and gave my uncle a worthy obituary. I will never be able to visit him, but I know that at a depth of 4600 meters he found the last rest with his comrades and all those who fought there to the bitter end. As Sabaton says: "Connected by iron and blood." Friend and enemy, because in the end we are all the same, we are only humans.

You definitely asked a tough question it's hard to pick a song from them when they have so many good ones. Twilight of the thunder god they did an Amon Amarth cover or inmate 4859 which is a true story. Fantastic job on this I have heard of the Bismark but didn't know much about it
So this song pretty much sums it up. Bismarck was a German Warship and it was never supposed to sink. It was one of the strongest Battleships during WW2. As Sabaton says, “It rules the Seas” as it did!
Did you notice the pocket watch?. The youg sailor was given the pocket watch by his captain he swam to the enemy handing himself in to capture. The man at the dock who hired the boat to Sabaton has the pocket watch probably passed down by his father?.
So more history facts, Bismarck was not the only "Super Battleships," Tirpitz and Bismarck were the same class of Battleships (Bismarck Class). Both Bismarck and Tirpitz were over 50,000 tons when loaded. Then the Japanese Imperial Navy in the Pacific had their own Super Battleships called, " Yamato," and "Musashi." But those two Battleships were even larger then the Bismarck and Tirpitz, like little over 72,000 tons when loaded and also with the largest Naval Guns (18.1 inches) that were ever used in the South Pacific in World War II. Then the US Navy was about to create their own Super Battleship to counter Yamato and Musashi, with Montana Class Battleships, the first Montana Class Battleship would have been called, "USS Montana." But both Yamato and Musashi got destroyed, and WWII ended, The US Navy scrapped the project.
Facts about Hitler and Kriegsmarine's plans for the Battleships. Before Bismarck and Tirpitz were planned to be built, the Kriegsmarine's planned to create bigger and more powerful battleships that were bigger than the Bismarck and the Tirpitz, with bigger naval guns like 20 inch Naval Guns.

For your nxt songs (there's a lot of material out there)...As an American, I'd recommend WW1 songs: The Lost Battalion, 82nd All the Way, Devil Dogs & Hellfighters. "The Balad of Bull" is a great (slower) WW2 song abt an Australian Soldier in the Pacific who saved the lives of a # of American Soldiers. "Dreadnought" is a WW1 Navy song abt the Battle of Juttland. "The Last Stand" is a banger abt the Sack of Rome in 1527. "Blood of Bannockburn" is a banger abt the English/Scottish Civil War. "Wolfpack" is another good WW2 (Battle of the Atlantic) song abt the British Royal Navy & German Submarines. "The Unkillable Solder" "The First Soldier" & "1916" are great. BTW, every couple of seconds the visuals tell another piece of the story of Bismarck's first and only sortie. Like, even when their boat is flown over by a flying boat, yeah, that happened, the Brits nearly attacked a different boat after a recon flight mistook it for the Bismarck. Even such details as the ship flipping over and the turrets falling off... yeah, although the Bismarck was found on the bottom upright, the turrets were at a distance, so at some point it flipped over.

Always look for the blonde hair and beard in videos or live performances,as Sabaton has had replacements there over the years. I think Hannes has been there over 2 eras at least with the band,if i remember right. If i mistace his history with another drummer in another band,i apologize. I might be thinking of Evergrey.
