The elephant gave every indication of being angry and in Musth. To rev up as the guide with an ego bigger than his brain, was to challenge the Bull Elephant so much that those in the vehicle were put in danger. A good guide would have seen the signs that the elephant was giving and would have left.
No the guide did right. You don't reward the elephant by his behavior at charging the vehicle by driving away, then he will do it to all vehicles and next time might just make contact and hurt people. They gave him his distance only after he backed off, so he wouldn't think he can do this to other safari vehicles. The tourists are what is helping save and preserve these animals. By revving up engine that is saying to elephant, hey, you back off, we aren't bothering you or coming closer, so you back off and your not going intimidate me. Elephant aggressive behavior that is allowed to go unchecked is not good for tourist if money don't come in because of aggressive elephant that wants charge and push around it's authority

I do not know much about elephants, but what I know is they have very, very sensitive ears and hearing. I have had a couple of encounters with elephants, some of them have been relatively close. But I have never ever seen such a behaviour, such moves of an elephant. The roaring engine must have been horrible for him. You shouldn't be proud of those 20 minutes you've experienced.
The revving of engine provoked him. Hate to tell you that's not the way guides should be "communicating" with elephants. It's threatening to them. Don't know where you were but the video makes me sad that there are "trained" guides out there doing this.
Kerri Mello The revving annoyed me too and i am on youtube. And i would have stood my ground or made a mock charge with the jeep usually they back off. His backing up turned on his instincts to charge or give chase.
if he didn't rev it, it would of stalled more than twice during the 9 minute video. Nothing to do with provoking the elephant, just keeping it running so he can get away with his clients who paid tens of thousands to be close to those elephants. Stick shift vehicle, not an automatic that can idle in 1st gear.
Most people do not understand what it's like to be guiding in the African bush with foreign tourists on board... it can get hectic!! tanzanable why are u so dumb. Would you like someone to come into you space do whatever they want and if u get to close they can kill does that sound fun to you? Tf use ur mind please.
I've been on ALOT of safaris and had a few nerve wracking encounters with elephants, the guides always turn the engine off or get the hell out fast, depending on the situation. Never seen an elephant do that before 🤯
They don't become "a little bit aggressive" during musth. They are apparently pretty miserable, including having bad headaches (some believe this is why they push their tusks into the ground - trying to ease the pain). As others have said, this guide was disgustingly disrespectful to the elephant and the people on the tour. I'm glad no one got hurt, especially the elephant.
Janet Williams - The elephant was at fault. It was very disrespectful to the humans who built the road that it was intentionally blocking. It looked like the elephant was hungry and saw the humans as lunch.
I'm pretty sure he wasn't worried about "protecting" a 5000kg elephant. More like the innocent tourists. I get you love animals but this elephant was never in any danger but the INNOCENT PEOPLE in the vehicle definitely were. How about start showing other humans the same care you show animals
That was really scary, I don’t blame those folks for wanting to get as far away as possible from that bull in musth. I read about ellie musth after this and it’s a helluva thing. There seems to be two schools of thought as to why they press the base of their trucks on the ground like this one did. Some say it’s an aggressive act, mimicking spearing another bull or it’s because of the pain from the swelling of the gland between their eye and ear. A bull with 60x normal testosterone level and in pain is not an animal you want to be around, that’s for sure.
Don’t blame the ellie! If 6 strangers pulled up on my driveway and started rev’ing their engine, they would get the same reaction from me. The ellie was very polite at first and these tools didn’t respect that its HIS property! Leave the ellies alone and stop trying to vilify these beautiful animals. We betray them every day, so don’t expect a warm reception when you show up and behave like that.
Elephant: Come at me, humans. Humans: (stand their ground and rev the engine). Elephant: Fine. You won't come at me? Well, then guess who's coming at you? ME! 4:27 and onwards: He chases them away.
I'm only at the 1:53 mark, and I cannot watch more. That engine-revving, is pissing me off; and I can only imagine, what it's doing to the animals, this idiot is attempting to provoke. One day, he will torment an elephant who is in the peak of his must-period and they'll be stomped. Many, like me, will applaud the elephant; and then, wardens, will put-him-down.
Misleading title, It was deliberate effort of teasing the elephant who’s in Musth I believe. Not only this driver has pissed off this elephant this time but now even in future this elephant will always charge at vehicles.
The guide in this video is reckless. To sit there and constantly rev your engine at an elephant no wonder it got mad! Provoke much?If you watch Safari Live you will know how a guide is supposed to interact with a wild animal. Always respect that the bush is these animals home. We are the interloper!
An idiotic driver, guide and tourists. The next innocent people coming down the road might suffer grave consequences through this irresponsible behavior. Guides should not behave in this manner. He as revving the engine on purpose and should be penalized by the necessary authority

LOL 😂 she said, “Can we go faster please?? He’s yelling at us!!! “ All jokes aside though, I didn’t like when he kept revering up his engine to taunt the elephant.
That one woman was the only one that had respect for the elephant 🥺
The elephant gave every indication of being angry and in Musth. To rev up as the guide with an ego bigger than his brain, was to challenge the Bull Elephant so much that those in the vehicle were put in danger. A good guide would have seen the signs that the elephant was giving and would have left.
Exactly
@@midnightstarr5413 Very well said
@@midnightstarr5413 So money is more important?
OK let's see where does money come from & what gives it it's value?
I'll show you the wildlife is more important than money.
@@johnsergei Who hell said money is more important than wildlife? Better read what I said again unless your just a shit starter. For a poor country that DOESN'T have a lot money, let alone for the conservation of it's wildlife, then yes, tourists means money, and money is used for what???? Rightttt. What you going save the wildlife with stones? Or maybe throw rocks at the poachers of ivory, and what not, while the poachers return fire with real bullets? Go sniff someone else's ass till you can read straight
I feel sorry for that elephant, shame on those fools for taking pleasure in aggravating it ☹
💙
Amen!!!
Exactly. Extremely disrespectful. This kind of guide should be banned.
Those fools are what has been saving those "poor elephants" by the money tourists are bringing in that help conservation and protection AND in helping to protect against poachers. "Those fools" as you say, help arm the rangers with much needed fire power against poachers that are armed with semi automatic and you name it. You can't have bully teen adolescent elephants pushing their weight around and being aggressive because then you will have a problem when that elephant makes contact with other folks and hurt or kill people. Left unchecked would be disastrous and that animal would be put down. So yea, I don't call them fools. I say thank you for their part in helping fight against poaching and conservation of Africas wildlife
I know, right?! They invaded his home!!
"Can you go faster." LOL The driver should have already had the truck turned around the opposite way instead having to back up thousands of feet first
Seems like you were provoking it too me... was it too much to just watch it without making all that damn noise?
imagine if the jeep engine stopped working
They sometimes do.
GET OUT OF HIS WAY!!!
I wonder how often they’ve had an engine just completely conk out in those situations?
Many times
I know what I’d have done if I were the patient elephant, he sure was very patient with these idiots
When I came across a hyena on a pee stop in Chobe, Botswana, about 2 meters behind me, with my pants down... I was more worried about the tourists out of the vehicle back at the bus that I just jumped up and ran shouting "hyena hyena"
Absolutely agree! They should be banned from ever going back into park, much less taking people with them. Then innocents come along, after that teasing, get attacked and then poor animal gets put down. Aholes!
@@pattytrollip2473 .
The guy in white hat said "just chill" 🤣. Can he say the same thing laughing when the elephant is in front of him 😂
He's tusking the ground.. One of the behaviours of a musth elephant
Staying that close to an elephant in musth strikes me as very stupid.
One must not underestimate the power of an Elephant 🐘 you have good decision to turn back 👍 enjoyed watching the Video.
These guides enjoy scaring the guests - what lodge is this ? IT NEEDS to go out of business
😂 agree

The driver knew what the elephant was going to do but waited around for him to charge. This was irresponsible.
He must be a new person because you can't make a car sound like that around most animals. Need to be quite around the animals
tHey stuck in the mud.rain, slippery road. The driver /guide was silly.Had to back up faster and earlier! Not to irritate the ellie bul in musth ! @@zaitunjumakeji4120
The elephant showed them a death plunge a the beginning, he wasn't playing games with them, I've never seen them do that before show them he wants to kill them.
Once on the news years ago footage of a rogue circus elephant drop to its knees with its forehead on his handler on the ground and pop him like a grape. The footage was removed from the air. It is a common modality in elephant characteristics. It was stunningly awful.
These men will get you killed and will be laughing telling you to chill just before the elephant kills them. Yep, fools they be!
Its 2 late for that….A fight MIST HAPPEN HE IS A PHUCKING BULLY and always throws rocks and hide well thats history bc HE SENDING THEM CHICKS my way……Idk them but they all think they know me lol yeah ok we shall see folks we shall see 💯
Photographic trips alter wildlife. That elephant thought he was facing an adversary. He behaved accordingly.
Will the person that shot this video and posted it please tell us what park you were at and what tour guide company you had. Would be greatly appreciated. REALLY.
Que ignorancia el animal enfermo y los estupidos riendose
Elephant should’ve smashed their vehicle and let them walk back to where they came from at a hurried pace with him behind them. Irresponsible to say the least!
Tourists shouldn't think that what want to experience is the most important thing.
It's about respect and preservation.
He was acting soo good...nominate for oscar..
Why stupid people want to make Elephants angry.
Mineral harvest - Why is the elephant so stupid as to harrass humans? Humans can easily kill elephants! This rougue elephant should be destroyed.
tanzanable why are u so dumb. Would you like someone to come into you space do whatever they want and if u get to close they can kill does that sound fun to you? Tf use ur mind please.
He minced no words in telling you to move out, but you kept revving and welcomed the charge... cheap yet costly thrills.
Stupid actually
I've been on ALOT of safaris and had a few nerve wracking encounters with elephants, the guides always turn the engine off or get the hell out fast, depending on the situation. Never seen an elephant do that before 🤯
Wow. What a magnificent site. What I wouldn't give to see one in the wild from a respectful distance.
ya blow your engine up while pissing an elephant off!just leave him alone..damn!
This is why certain humans take the joy out of living for many species.
I totally agree!! Ignorant people trying to be so clever. The elephant is actually laughing at them. He knows they are at his disposal😊
American tourists : "We want to see elephants....Oh, that elephant is coming... He´s still coming !!! ... You have a gun, please ???"
the driver should be fired after this. you are there to protect animals not to do this to them. it's not funny at all
amen this pisses me off hope the next time their car stalls kill the whole damn bunch
This elephant wasn't even in any danger. Just stfu
@@harolynallison4161 Well no bc then the animal would probably be hunted & destroyed. But I hear ya...
Please more respekt for wild animals !!❤️❤️🇩🇪🇩🇪
Don’t blame the ellie! If 6 strangers pulled up on my driveway and started rev’ing their engine, they would get the same reaction from me. The ellie was very polite at first and these tools didn’t respect that its HIS property! Leave the ellies alone and stop trying to vilify these beautiful animals. We betray them every day, so don’t expect a warm reception when you show up and behave like that.
I wish people would just LEAVE GODS CREATURES ALONE.
Leave the animals in peace. They are in their natural habitat where they belong, not hurting anyone. Can't we just let them be?
Elephant: Come at me, humans.
Humans: (stand their ground and rev the engine).
Elephant: Fine. You won't come at me? Well, then guess who's coming at you? ME!
4:27 and onwards: He chases them away.
The White girl is Hilarious. She said, "I'm Scared", with No Emotion
Lol she was scared
🤣
I'm only at the 1:53 mark, and I cannot watch more. That engine-revving, is pissing me off; and I can only imagine, what it's doing to the animals, this idiot is attempting to provoke. One day, he will torment an elephant who is in the peak of his must-period and they'll be stomped. Many, like me, will applaud the elephant; and then, wardens, will put-him-down.
he's in good mood,he's inviting you to play with
The tourist have got their money's worth !!♡!! Lol !!
Leave Elephants alone.
What drama queens if you're that scared you don't need to go on safari
Misleading title, It was deliberate effort of teasing the elephant who’s in Musth I believe. Not only this driver has pissed off this elephant this time but now even in future this elephant will always charge at vehicles.
You sought out a safari experiece. I'm quite sure the expert guides knew their job and where the elephant was.
The guide in this video is reckless. To sit there and constantly rev your engine at an elephant no wonder it got mad! Provoke much?If you watch Safari Live you will know how a guide is supposed to interact with a wild animal. Always respect that the bush is these animals home. We are the interloper!
The lady said : I am scared I don,t want to see him, hahaha , it,s funny to hear what she said
He looked like a playful showoff. But very dangerous.
That elephant thinking, stupid humans you want to take me on. BRING IT ON AND SEE WHAT YOU GET. They remember everything including you.
This should be titled Idiot Guide vs Elephant
Anyone who takes patrons on a tour should know that you don’t make noise especially if the animal is in musth
An idiotic driver, guide and tourists. The next innocent people coming down the road might suffer grave consequences through this irresponsible behavior. Guides should not behave in this manner. He as revving the engine on purpose and should be penalized by the necessary authority
That was a big male, he was ready for mating and you disturbed his hunt for a female.
That's why he was aggressive and charging - and I would have done the same if in his shoes...
And the aggressive reving did not help...
@@deliawright8626
"reving" ??
@@CRN-68 Yes. It's the infinitive form of the verb to 'REVE', meaning to repeatedly depress the accelerator on a paused vehicle's engine, with the express purpose of irritating a wild animal. 😜

That driver is irresponsible. He knew the mental state of the elephant yet put his passengers in harms way. What would he have done if his vehicle stalled or failed to start?
I think the elephants have been so decimated by trophy hunters that they will never trust humans in the wild again.
Well he showed them who was BOSS.WEll done ellie the elephant.you showed them humans xx
