@justforFUNdayNIGHT i do believe he is aware of how to make power. he is experimenting with several different motors, and often is searching for an unrelated problem. hence the "chaotic" setups :)
I'm a huge fan. I've been watching your channel since you built your very first Dino and a motorized bicycle with the cheap engine kit. You're truly my hero. You do all the things I wish I could have done if I had more machines, unfortunately now I'm homeless but I'm saving up all the money I can to come and see you at Bonneville. I'm in Los Angeles California, so I've got a little bit of a track to get there, but if you can come all the way over here, then I can. Get all the way over there.
A refrigerator repairman was called to fix a mans noisy refrigerator. The repairman stared at the refrigerator for a moment, felt around the corner, grabbed his hammer, and gave the refrigerator a whack. The noise stopped. The repairman looked at the owner and said "it appears to be fixed, that will be $500". The man, in a very surprised tone "but you only hit it with a hammer". The repairman said "yes, but I know exactly where to hit the refrigerator". I hope you break the record and will be watching. Bonneville Salt Flats are a 12 hour drive for me and am considering the trip. Good luck.
"Whack the refrigerator" lol. 12hr drive! If you can make the trip, then go!. He could do with some believers and support. Expect it to be crazy and chaotic. Win or fail, his attempt will go into the history books.
@@snakezdewiggle6084 I believe in Alex ..... I may go .... not sure, we have just one (running) car. There are land speed racers all around me. I live not far from the shop of Pete Aardema and Kevin Braun that will be in Salt Lake. They just set a few records at El Mirage. We'll see - it would be cool for sure. th-cam.com/video/ftUCZeZXsUg/w-d-xo.htmlsi=_WmUB6wH4LyI54L7
Everytime you used the vacuum while machining the exhaust bracket, all I heard was you going WOOOOOO! and it was the happiest thing I'd heard all day. You cant convince me that it was the machine and not you.
The expansion chamber brackets should not be welded directly to the chamber. A plate skin should be welded to the chamber then the bracket welded to the plate skin. Ask me how I know. Good luck.
good luck ! i been a TIG welder sence 1985 ! dig a groove in the crank & pin fill it with weld i think it will hold BETTER / just a sugjestion not trying to tell you how to do the job 1 ! i mess with old McCulloch Karting engines love the 2 cycle ! GOOD LUCK AT THE RACETRACK DBN
Old machinist trick here, when you machine steel parts with those long microscopic sheavings. Try to not rub your hands, and put a generous amount of hand or dishwasher soap on your hands. rub them very lightly and rince with COLD water (cold water closes the pores of the skin) This seems to lubricate the to be splinters and guide them in the drain instead of your skin. worked for me for a couples of decades. Keep up the good content!
Seen the rest of the video you kept the sensor in the same spot I love how you built that case and everything is nice work. I live in California it'd be nice if I go to Bonneville but I am disabled I can't travel so I love watching the show Good luck
After watching for a few years, you've inspired me to get back into mopeds for the first time in 20 years. I'm now building up a moped to go on cross-Europe trips with, It's going to look ridiculous with the top and side luggage cases. I'm tuning it for low end torque and fuel economy instead of top speed, so I stay within road-legal limits. I don't want it to get confiscated when I'm over 1000km from home. So far it's been fun.
@@jediknight1294 I have a AM licence, which may not be something every European country has, and is specifically for under 50cc and vehicles with a max construction speed of 45 km/h. Also the moped will be registered as max 45 km/h, so having it be able to go over that is asking for trouble with police, especially as a foreigner I can't count on any leniency.
Getting something in your eye is a matter of odds & bad luck! I’ve been at home and had a piece of metal come off my shirt into my eye welll after I left the shop!
Now that you're welding it when you go to Bonneville take extra ones if you got it and if you put the sensory inside the case you might want to take an extra case with the sensor it'll be hard to get to it if that sensor fails you probably know that I love the work you're doing curious why you run the motor upside down plus I hope you break the record Good luck I really mean that
I would be concerned about the magnet pickup as the strength of a magnet decreases with heat. So, if the crank gets very "warm", the sensor may not reliably give you TDC.
i bought a huge N52 magnet to pull out the steel shavings from my arms and stuff after grinding...dont know if i would put it near my eyes though. Love the content and excited for the speed week video!
I remember ny Dad having some matches with a loop of horsehair attached one end, to drag across his eyeballs. I got swarf stuck in my eye once, plucked it out and thought no more about it until i'd been out drinking. The eye was constantly streaming, so I left and got a friend to drive me to hospital. Waiting 0for the anaesthetic drops to work, the doctor left to grab something... and when she'd returned 20 seconds later, I'd fainted, fallen off the chair, and bitten my toungue! 😅 Good Luck Alex, let it fly!
Funny and shocking how similar our design language is in our minds. That exhaust bracket you made has the exact same look as a piece I made for a trailing arm on a vintage American car. I'd have to show you a picture!
The pin can only rotate over it's center, so a tack on the edge of the pin will sheer off if there is any rotation, in other words the pin can't hinge across the tack line
@@abyssmanur3965 Ahh... I see what you mean now! I misstakenly thought you you meant two tacks as in total on the pin (both sides) and that it would hinge across those. Thinking about it some more he might have done 2 tacks to allow for some movement o purpose, so that it is still possible to make some adjustments after welding it.
I've had metal shavings in my eye twice. Used a magnet for 2 days each time to try to pull it out without success. Took a couple seconds for the eye doctor to get it out both times
I had the metal burrs in my eyes one time. Woke up next morning both eyes glued shut and BLIND. Scared as hell but after ER and drops I was OK. Can't be too careful with your eyes!
My eyes are pretty good at expelling stuff. I've had luck with a saline soaked q tip knocking a piece loose and I've used a neodymium magnet in a sterilized sandwich bag to get a piece before too. I still had to go to an eye doctor one time though.
25 July. Seen the problems your having with the pipe cracking. A Header flange with springs and a slip on pipe may solve the cracking. Also have you experimented with increasing the length of your stinger, I read somewhere years ago there is a formulas , I think it was length is 12.5 x diameter, (happy to be corrected ) may be 1 or 2 more horsepower gains there. Good luck and great work.
Not one for commenting much. Good luck at Bonneville and hopefully you can set a record. But the metal splinters in your eye usually normally take about a week plus a lot of eye drops to get out. A lot easier to go to the doctors.

btw if you are thinking about turbo piston systems, its easier to make a full turbine engine instead of adding any pistons. also if you want to read the rotation position, you can use a strip of metal like a resistance gauge trimmer.
the crank flywheel trigger even though it is weight is usually setup to offset the other side of the crank/ e.g. the clutch chain side so removing the end-to-end balance . so, it's like this 20kg magneto ----------40kg clutch i wonder what bearing going to wear out first. that's not even a rod & piston in the mix. balancing should be done with rotational mass and longitudinal mass. the perfect balance is when everything runs at peak material integrity straight as possible. no deflection what's so ever. now to figure that out have fun haha
i've had to have rust rings ground out of my eye 2x, was wearing eye protection both times... sometimes the stuff bounces off the back side of the safety glass and into your eye...
