And 9 months later after this interview, he has become the World Champion now and made history for Singapore to win the first ever gold medal in World Championship for any sport. What an achievement!
Ngl he looks very nice, humble, and cute at the same time here tho. If he stay focus and improve with his games in 2022, I’m sure he will be on the top 10 or maybe top 5 really soon.

I am 70. I have many friends of 1940s and 1950s born in Penang and Kuala Lumpur but they are Singapore citizen decades ago. So it is just fair and right to say: Loh Kean Yew born in Penang and Singapore Citizen. He is by citizenship a Singaporean like all my friends. He kissed the Singapore flag rightly as my friends kiss Singapore flag all their life. My grandfather and father came from China. We became Singapore Citizen though born in China. We kissed the Singapore flag though born in China.
As a Penang Lang, we must congratulate you, Great Job !

He served NS in Spore and look how he showed the world the Spore badge on his shirt when he won the game, he feel proud to represent Spore although he born in Malaysia. He is definitely Singaporean now... Majulah Singapura 🇸🇬

Kenapa perlu salahkan BAM sedangkan dia tak pernah join bawah BAM. Masa dia 13 tahun dia sendiri buat keputusan untuk join sekolah sukan singapore. LZJ diserapkan dalam BAM pun masa 2015 lebih kurang and LKY dah pun start belajar kat singapore
The problem of brain drain in Malaysia is nothing new, thanks to all the backward policy makers and the people who puts them in charge. Anyway, happy for LKY and hope he continues to shine.

i never thought i would see another near perfect MS player after LD retired. Then i saw LKY beating LD in 2019 thailand master in 2 games, both coming far from behind. I knew LKY is special and already has the skills and mental strength to beat LD who is already legendary in skills and mental strength. Then i didn't see much of LKY in 2019, 2020, and first half of 2021. When i saw LKY came close to beating axelson, OG champ at 2001 denmark and INA open, i knew LKY is for real. After beating axelson in round 1 of the WC, i knew LKY will get the WC title.
