One is suction and other discharge pipe, suction is cold(big) , discharge is hot (small). So never put both together. It will be inefficient.

make sure where the capilary tube loaction is...if inside the outdoor unit...insulate both pipes will be no problem...if the capilary outside from the outdoor unit...just insulate one pipe

Seperate, suction (big) pipe is cold and return ( thinner) pipe is hot. Insulating them together will result in heat transfer and hence inefficient.
