Honestly Magnus, I don't watch you to watch the hard boulders or the easy ones, I watch you because you're damn good content, and a great guy. Your attitude and just general take on everything you do is always so awesome, and I'm fairly sure I'm not the only one here that thinks that! Make videos about what you want to do, I'm pretty sure most people will still enjoy it!
Like many others said, yep, it's about you, your personality, your way of communicating :) I personally don't care if they are hard or "easy" boulders :)
I agree. I think watching talented climbers break down easy borders with efficient movements. Is better contant than watching difficult climbing beyond comprehension.
Magnus, most of us are here because of you. It’s like spending 20 minutes with an old friend. You could make videos on how to tie shoes and most of us would still watch. I’m 59 and have started looking at climbing gyms near me. Your videos are inspiring!
Lol this comment summed it up so well. We love Magnus as a person and even easier climbs (for him) would be so inspiring to see because he would breeze through them
It's a lot more interesting to see you work out a problem you're having trouble with than just see you fly up a route with no issue. The thought process and problem-solving is fascinating and educational. Sure, it looks impressive to see you flash hard problems, but that gets old after a while.
The routes don't have to be difficult though, but make sure to walk us through how to solve them before you do them :) Let us into the mind of a climber :)
As a beginner climber I love these climbing centered videos so much more. I also appreciate you showing that your still challenged by climbes/ have bad days as well ❤.
Completely agree with that, the other videos are nice for a change but it's the climbing I'm here for; and seeing that Magnus has bad days too makes me feel a bit better about my insufficient skills. 😀
I already had a lot of bad climbing days, also weeks. Now I changed to 2-3 weeks (young people 3 weeks) of full (training) loading and after that a week with half loading to avoid the break downs. .
As an athlete who developed a chronic disease, listening to my body has been the hardest lesson. As an athlete, you're used to "if I take these steps, train this way, etc. my body will do what I want it to". But sometimes, that just isn't the case. Good to hear you gave yourself a break when your body needed it
Can you point to any toxic stuff you may have been exposed to that could explain your disease? If you're an athlete, I assume you made sure your food and water was good. Did you take any pharmaceuticals? Antibiotics, shots, etc.? Other than that, are you exposed to high levels of radiation, like a apartment building with tons of wireless connections, smart meters, cell towers, etc.?
@@noone3734 I am also a professional athlete. Here’s the thing though, my Grandfather smoked his whole life. I was about 10 years old when my mother said to him, 'If you ever want to see your grandchildren graduate, you have to stop immediately.'. Tears welled up in his eyes when he realized what exactly was at stake. He gave it up immediately. Three years later he died of lung cancer. It was really sad and destroyed me. My mother said to me- 'Don't ever smoke. Please don't put your family through what your Grandfather put us through." I agreed. At 28, I have never touched a cigarette. I must say, I feel a very slight sense of regret for never having done it, because your comment implying that wireless connections and shots cause chronic illness gave me cancer anyway.
I'd love to see more pure climbing videos from you, with other people, alone, hard grades, easy grades, technique explanations, breakdowns and anything in-between!
I’m not a climber yet I love watching your videos. I think what draws me to your channel is the effort you put into everything you do. It’s super inspiring. You make everything look so easy and you are so humble about it.
you should try! have been climbing on and off for a while but have introduced some friends to it who have never tried it before and most of them have bought memberships to climbing gyms :). Its not super intimidating and theres always lots of easy but still fun climbs you can start with. You would be surprised how much progress you can make in a few sessions
Most days aren't our best days, so it's actually really nice to see you like this and it motivates me and others to don't fell bad when we can't finish our reps.
I agree I’ve had a few climbs in my gym below V4 that I’ve really struggled on the past few weeks and it makes me feel stupid but sometimes climbs are just hard set or don’t suit us as individuals, but it’s reassuring seeing someone like Magnus having the same predicament
I can confirm that "easier" routes are also very interesting since we (I at least) can relate with that more, so please keeping shooting videos even if they're not your hardest routes! I myself climb 6B now. So videos about theses are definitely not boring or whatever :). Thanks for all your amazing content! I am always very eager to watch your new videos! :) Started climbing because of you.
"You guess we don't watch you because you're not the best?" That's heart wrenching man. I don't watch your videos to see what the best climbers are capable of, I don't climb so I wouldn't even recognise that. I watch your videos because you're an interesting and very charismatic person. You're down to earth, you go out of your comfort-zone, you're authentically yourself. Those are traits I'm working on myself and that makes you worth admiring. Life isn't always about performing your best, it's also about how we perform during our worse. Keep doing you and ill keep following.
I think the majority of climbers/his audience are probably so far off from magnuses abilities that they cant even comprehend how difficult some of the routes he does are, or the finer points of the technique that make it possible. So watching someone whose the best at climbing isn't what we are here for. Its hard to relate to the best climbers in the world, if you go to alex honnold or adam ondras youtube channels they have less subscribers.
@@terribleted9529 I agree with the general sentiment, would just like to add that the primary reason for Magnus having off-the-charts sub count has most to do with the fact that he started really early, and commited his usual 200% to it. His channel is way older than Ondra's (and for example Alex Megos' as well, as an example of another world-class climber whose content I enjoy watching).
I prefer your climbing videos over the other content. I realize you might not get the same amount of views from a pure climbing video, but i hope you get enough. Just know there are plenty of people who appreciate it. Doesn't matter what grade you're climbing at. I love watching technique, projects, route setting, collabs etc.
His climbing videos are what I enjoy most, really. I always make sure to like and comment and usually watch them fully. But then you see the more flashy videos with random challenges get 4x the views and why should he not more of that. I do wonder if those videos get the same amount of people watching the whole video though.
Videos filmed on 'off days' are super relatable. I recently took a couple weeks off from covid and felt like shit struggling a few grades below my usual. It's kind of nice seeing "big climbers" go through that side of things too as a reminder that it happens to all of us but you'll bounce back soon enough
Absolutely loved this video. I’m a beginner climber and love watching the videos, even though I could never climb that high of grade. I always appreciate seeing easier grades being climbed. Maybe that’s why I also enjoy when Marte climbs because she does lower grades that is really relatable too. I liked how real you were. Great job, Magnus!
You may not be the best climber in the world, but you are our favorite climber in the world, your positive attitude and gnarly grinding work ethic are addictive.
i am not a climber. im 44. you are entertaining. you make everything look easier than they are. you are humble. you are driven. you have done some of the craziest challenges like the military ones and the marathon. you are wild. it's all taxing. i say do what you love and film yourself doing it.
I watch you for your personality, you showed me people in this community are open and friendly & encouraging. Cheering your friends on during a climb, bringing in new climbers, giving advice. Post what your heart desires, we're here
I'm not a climber, so everything you do is really impressive to me lol. I like watching your videos because I feel the insight into the world of climbing & bouldering viewed through your eyes is enlightening - your thought process in how you talk about approaching a problem, the different movement needed for different types of walls, the mentality around climbing etc. It's just cool to watch someone in familar territory calmly break a problem down into a solution :)
Thank you for the vulnerability you brought to this video. Always love to see you climbing, and it is inspiring to see you get back on the wagon after a break. Its helpful to know that even very talented and strong people can go through this as well.
Magnus you're the guy that got me into climbing. Your videos are so much more than hard climbing. Your videos are pure entertainment. We watch you because your videos are comforting and they give us joy. You're the only youtuber than I still get excited to watch. Everyone loves you. You're a great guy and no matter what you do your fanbase will always support you. To be honest magnus I don't think you see it because you're very humble but you're still so much stronger than like 99.9 percent of climbers. Your personality is so admirable you could make a video about eating cereal and you would find a way to make it entertaining. Through climbing I've learned so much about myself and you're a big part of why I started to climb.
yes !!! i also got into climbing not bc magnus climbed hard but bc he made it seem more accessible by climbing w a variety of ppl. he just made climbing seem so approachable w his personality and thats what i love!
Same, I agree and was also inspired by magnus, recently learnt to belay, love boulders, it's a very friendly community here in the UK, everyone i'v met is happy to help, give advice and guidance. It's a great hobby and burns me out physically which is win win 👍
Magnus is so concerned of what others think of him. I look forward to the content he makes when he lets go and is free. We’re here for your presence, nothing more. Good luck my friend
@@fallenangel5268 It's cringe to give others words of encouragement? I get being an asshole is more commonplace now, but apparently being a good person is now a negative thing
@@derpyduck5088 Nah, it's not. He just doesn't have the maturity or self-confidence to be able to recognize and appreciate genuine encouragement and support. My understanding of Gen Z is that they ridicule each other for standing out even a little bit. It's highly encouraged to not deviate from "the norm", and empathy / showing kindness / showing vulnerability are not the norm in many environments. Fuck if I care, tbh. That's no way to live life. They'll grow up eventually, and hopefully realize that rejecting individuality and the traits that allow us to connect with other humans is a great way to spend your life alone and miserable.
@@fallenangel5268 Only thing here that's cringeworthy is you. Laughing at supportive behaviour doesn't make you look cool, it makes you look like an emotionally stunted insecure chimp. You're not going to impress anyone in the real world trying to act like a playground bully. Over time, ironically, it'll get you isolated and ridiculed - deservedly so.
Yeah this. Normally breaking the fourth wall makes me super uncomfortable but with you, because of how you come across, it really works and is calming. Makes me feel like a climbing friend in the gym.
One of the most inspiring videos I've seen from magnus and have been watching for a long time now. Inspiration is about relating to someone, seeing magnus really struggle with whether or not he is performing well enough to share to people might be the most relatable thing to any athlete, artist or musician out there. I hope he shares more of his struggles and "failures" (as he may see it). To me this was much more profound than just solving hard boulders, share your journey, not just the treasures you attained along the way.
You're correct man, we're not here because you have to be the best. We're here because of you being a cool guy. You're climbing because you're getting the most out of yourself, today! And maybe today is worse than yesterday, but that's ok. You got the most out of it without destroying yourself. Nice going, great to see you back, looking forward to more vids like this
We/I like watching you pick apart a climb. It is the technical aspect. I am not a climber but when you break it down its fascinating. Thank you. The fails are part of the success. Heavy breathing means you are working. Show your stuff. Have fun. Always have fun.
I came across with a video the other day. An annoying sports journalist asked an athleete whether he considers the year a failure because his team didn't win the championship. The guy asked because that Michael Jordan won 6 titles with the Bulls, are the other seasons a failure? No. He said there is no failure in sports, it's a path to become better. So don't feel that your audience will think less of you if you film "easier" problems or you don't manage to solve a problem. As many said we are watching you for your personality, your drive for quality and excellence. Thank you for what you are giving us!
''For we are naturally disposed to admire, more than anything else, the man who shows fortitude in adversity” - Seneca. Thanks for the videos Magnus. 💙
I'm not even a climber and you've made me interested in climbing and you're a very fun and chill guy to watch. I'd watch any of your content doesn't matter if it's climbing or not.
Hey Magnus! I myself am a beginner climber, I’ve done a chunk of V3s, but zero V4s. For me it’s interesting to see you climb anything above 6a, can’t speak for everyone but I don’t think you need to do 8a and whatnot all the time.
Magnus, you are a real fkin dude. Your personality is magnetic, your climbing is fun to watch, and you always share interesting things about your process and climbing in general. Keep making videos as long as you feel inspired to. I promise there will be many who love them, even if they aren’t optimized to get the most clicks.
I love seeing you try new routes for the first time, communicate your struggles, and strategize how to get past it. Its a shared experience we all go through. My climbing group is 4 people and with different specialties...mine is actually slab. I use the one leg squat very often on slabs.
Good to see you're back! You were my main reason I began climbing, I only started about two months ago but the community is one of the most helpful and kind I know of. ❤
This video makes me feel a lot better about myself! A few months ago I traveled from the US to Norway to visit a friend and during my day I spent in Oslo I spent like 6 hours at this gym waiting for my hostel check in time (my flight got in quite early in the morning, the staff thought it was funny I was in the gym 90 minutes after arriving in the country lol) and I had a really good time hanging out with your staff and climbing all over everything (I forget his name but shout out to the Canadian guy that works there, he was awesome and really helped me learn a lot about Oslo and helped guide me to my hostel later!) and I know exactly which wall this is, it's on the top floor on the other side of the room from the Kilter board. I had a really hard time with all but one of the boulders I tried on this wall which frustrated me as normally I quite enjoy slabs! Makes me feel way better to hear even Magnus finds this section hard too haha. I love when you film here because it always brings back good memories from that amazing trip!
We love you, Magnus. Do WHATEVER you feel comfortable with. We will love the content. Not cause you're the best or not. Cause you're you. Your audience fell in love with YOU. Not your skill. We will support you no matter what. I appreciate your hard work producing content for us.
Love watching you no matter how easy or hard the problems. I am nearly 50 with a back injury that left me unable to work and have just started bouldering with my 17 year old daughter who climbs at a level around 5+. Watching your technique has helped me greatly and after a few months I am climbing at a level of 3ish. Thank you for all your help and inspiration.
Watching someone return to a something after a break, make mistakes, be vulnerable and eventually succeed is super inspiring. Especially when it’s something that they love. The beauty of it is that this applies to all types of skills, not just climbing. Thanks Magnus.
I honestly just get a lot of joy out of watching someone send a problem they liked and found interesting, no matter the grade. Also I'm new both to climbing and your videos and have watched quite a lot of your content for inspiration over the past few weeks! It's been a fun ride watching your adventuring and editing style improve and evolve into its own unique identity over timeline of your video releases =)
thank you for all your content and this video! your "out of shape" is another man/women's "holy shit thats possibly?"! for real: i started bouldering 7 months ago and found your channel pretty fast. i binged most of it and loved every bit of it. from climbing with alex, to testing boulder, to this "simple" climbing video, its always "inspiring, motivating or educational", as it should be! i would love some more videos in the style of this. and if you ever visit germany we'd love to show you around our country and boulder halls :)
Magnus, man. When your at your worst you're still better than probably 80-90% of your viewers. We're watching someone really good at climbing enjoying climbing just because it's climbing but also communicate well and entertaining about what's going on. Your open dialogue about what you're doing or did. And also teaching others to climb for the first times and your collaborations.
As a non-climber, I still have followed you for years. Sure, watching you solve the hard problems is fun, but just watching you be great at what you do is why I stick around. And your positive attitude regardless of challenges is contagious.
I think it’s safe to say that you are one of the biggest reasons I got into climbing. I remember when I started 7 months ago, I had my friends motivation and everyone in the climbing gym. As I dived in my discovery on how to become better at climbing I came across your channel. It helped me with tricks, and overall patience that even the best climbers in the world, have bad days and are human just like me. I love every video you upload. And will be amazed by climbs. Easy, or hard it does not matter to me. Thank you for being an inspiration man!
Thank you for trusting your audience enough to share this. This has been one of my favorite videos of you to watch. It makes you more relatable, and helps me motivate through my own high-gravity days.
Knowing your condition when coming back is really essential. It can be really hard to swallow the pride that you have developed after practising so many hours and see it getting ruined when you cant do something you could do easily. Know thats its a part of the process and you will be fine
Magnus you may not be the best but there is no doubt you are a truly elite athlete no matter how you cut it. We watch you because you are so talented not only in your passion of climbing but also in your passion of creating. You are one of the most humble people I have ever followed. You’re a true inspiration Magnus I do hope you cut yourself a break once in a while. You deserve it my friend.
Honestly I haven't been watching as much of your recent videos. Now I understand why you took the break, but I enjoy watching these older style videos. No matter the grade that's climbed I feel like I'm getting better at climbing just watching. Keep up the good work!
I watch you to see someone who is freakishly good but also trains in a 'regular' gym without a bunch of hyper specific rituals, equipment or fancy sponsors. It's relatable but also not, it's in that cool in-between territory. I also like your unfiltered competitiveness. Stuff like 8:52 where you're candidly admitting that people's expectations affect your self assessment is so honest and I feel like most athletes have that, even though they might try to sell a "only compete with yourself" mentality. Also your production quality is ridiculous. Like you're an objectively skilled youtuber besides a climber.
I’ve missed 3 straight weeks of training due to a stomach flu, a busy work week and now just getting over a cold. This video couldn’t be better timed for me! And as for what climbing I like to watch from you? All of it! Yes I’m subbed to Stefano and Adam and Will and Shaun and I love seeing the hard stuff, but I also love seeing the variety that I get with your channel. Even when you aren’t climbing I still enjoy watching you, you have great camera presence and really fun “youtube-ish” video themes that most other climbing channels don’t have.
Definitely appreciate watching you climbing at any level! It’s nice to hear both the good times abs set backs because it makes the videos feel more relatable.
It’s true, of course it’s awesome to see you crushing hard boulders like it’s nothing, but for intermediate climbers like me I feel like I learn so much from watching seasoned climbers do boulders that are more accessible to me. It’s even enjoyable to watch climbers struggle, because you gain insight into the thinking process and can cheer them on like your bouldering buddies! The proof is in the pudding! - there are so many more female viewers when Marte is climbing cause we can relate!
Hey! You are awesome and a huge inspiration - i think alot of people watch you because of YOU. Your attitude, energy - the relatability and your down-to-earthness - and then combined with a sprinkle of awesomeness and strength. Keep just being yourself - you can do V1 bouldering video and beginners would love that - and i am sure that more advanced climbers would also enjoy - and you can always challenge yourself to see how difficult you can make that problem !
Honestly bro we are for you and you’re content. I love any type of boulders or content you make wether it’s easy or hard boulders. You’re content is amazing and really fun to watch. Love watching you boulder and seeing your thought processes and thinking to myself what the hell how did he make that look easy. Love you man and you’re content!
It's how you explain, how you test yourself, how you make us viewers feel a part of your world, even if for 10-20 minutes. A grade isn't important, they're variable anyway. You are consistent in your style and personality. You are able to laugh at yourself. These make you very watchable. We admire your athleticism, the effort, the work you do put in, but we watch for your personal style and the way you invite us in. For that I thank you and continue to watch.
I also watch your other videos but I just absolutely love your relaxed and chill solo climbing sessions. And there it doesn't matter if you climb 6, 7 or 8s, it is just the whole atmosphere and your personality that makes those videos so great.
I didn't climb for 3 weeks cuz of exhaustion and nerve pain, climbed again yesterday, went from v5-v6 to v3-v4. Felt like I lost all the progress I made in 5 months in as little as 2 weeks, but hey, I see I'm not the only one in that situation!
Taking regular deloading weeks is the best thing you can do to give your climbing longevity. Just train other climbing related stuff during those, like core workouts, streching etc.
I want to thank uou, Magnus fir your educational, inspiring, entertaining and Delightful videos!!! As a 63 yr old nurse, you've shown me a new world out there and that fine respectful people are around as well. You're certainly a fine young fella and thanks for the ranges of difficulty/countries ... Be well. Watching from Maine, US.
It is correct, we love to see the challenge and relatable too. I think the more important thing is to hear the problem solving and then the execution. That is very good. Like the 360 move, to talk through it. To hear you had a problem with it, then the steps to get past the hold up. Keep it up
Honestly, it's more about the aesthetics of watching a good climber tackle problems that I wouldn't even dream on doing. Also sharing your experience is really valuable.
As a climber pushing v8, I love seeing your hard climbing videos to see how you solve problems. That said, I enjoy every video you put out cause they’re well made and you’re entertaining!
Glad to see more climbing content. I hope the pressure of an audience and being an amazing climber doesn’t take away the joy of climbing. I think the reason people watch you isn’t because they think you’re the best climber but because you are among best AND make unique entertaining content. Other climbers don’t
While I'm not a climber, I deeply appreciate and inspired with your passion and effort evident in your content. It's truly enjoyable to witness, and I also admire the physical strength and physique of climbers. Ultimately, it's my genuine enjoyment that keeps me engaged.
I legit started climbing because of you , I had an injury on my right hand ring finger and I can’t move it and I’m having it removed soon but I got into calming because of you, also you always made it about climbing not about what’s the hardest thing to climb but it’s about the passion and love you have for the sport and you don’t just don’t one style or one thing you keep it nicely spread 💯 keep doing what you doing as you inspire me 💯🫶🏻
Yea, being relatable and authentic is the key. It really doesn’t matter if you are the best in the world. We love to see your passion and creativity shine through in these videos. I had chronic fatigue and depression after a bad bout with covid. Took me a year and a half to get out of it. Your videos were the catalyst to me getting in the climbing gym and starting to make real progress in my health. Always great to know what your boundaries and to listen to your body. Thanks for all you do Magnus!
This video really makes me love climbing even more… im sitting at home, watching this video and all i want to do is climb… i normally don’t have this feeling that extreme when watching your video’s but maybe it is because this more realistic view of climbing and the real effort behind it that it takes makes climbing suddenly way more accessible… I really enjoyed this video magnus!
I want more of these vids - super chill, explaining exactly what you're doing and what your thought process is, and progression. Failures are more interesting than successes.
I can't speak for anyone else, but I watch your channel because of you. I am not a climber so I tend to prefer the "collab" style vids where you are teaching others to climb, or learning a new skill yourself. Having said that the pure climbing vids are still great as well. Its your honest approach to everything that really sells these vids. You come across as totally genuine. So keep up the good work and if its just you climbing a set of stairs then rest assured I will still be watching :)
This video came at the perfect time for me. I have been taking it easy recently because my finger started hurting quite bad and I didn't wanna cause an injury. It's been brutal to take a step back from climbing after going so consistently. After what you said though, I feel like I'm making the right call, and once I get back to climbing it's gonna be worth the wait.
Ouch! 🙂 I climbed there earlier this week, the Slab of the Week was one of the easiest I've seen, but I still fell on the final move (I'm fairly short, so the reach over left me out of balance). It is very humbling to see you do it no hands! Keep posting content like this Magnus, we all appreciate the effort you put into making these videos for us!
Great to see the pure climbing videos again! This remains the real reason for watching your chanel for so many years. Very interesting to hear you had a minor injury, while you always said you had very few to none injuries in your climbing career. Would be very interesting to hear how you coped with being injured (even minor), what it did to you as a climber and what you did to recover (apart from rest. Never see you using any tape or something like that. Thanks for the great content!
Genuinely I just like your honest and down to earth vibe. I never feel like you're playing it up for the camera, and you're always quite descriptive whether your approach, motive, lessons, etc. I learned a LOT when starting out from your videos specifically and I don't think that ever stopped. Also, as someone who popped my shoulder on the wall a couple months ago and only just started to get back into it, it's also humbling and encouraging to get the reminder that rest is best, even from one of the truly skilled concerts like you. I don't like being static, but I definitely need to be better about that lesson
I'm not a climber, but I found you while I was doing some bouldering a while back. I watch your climbing content because I feel in awe knowing how difficult even simple problems can be for normal people like me. I watch the rest of your content because of your personality and commitment to difficult challenges. I find your way of approaching these very inspiring and if I can apply even 5% of your commitment to my daily life then I will see massive improvement. Plus, you're such a likeable and down to earth guy, and your video editing skills are incredible!
Magnus! I loved this video so much. Not only it is more relatable to me as a beginner climber, but also the way you share your ethos and concerens make me feel like as if I was listening to a friend. Please keep making videos like this! Thank you!
We watch you because you bring brightness, your genuiness, and your passion. This video of what to do when feeling weak is actually super helpful. More please ❤
Magnus even if you are not the best climber in the world, you are one of the best in the grand scheme. You're an incredible athlete, you constantly try cool but incredibly difficult things and you are a genuinely good human who people enjoy because of who you are. Love the content and that's why I subscribe.
I do not climb, but what draws me to your videos is I love watching people do what they are passionate about. Hard climbs, easy climbs, or something completely different, as long as you bring that passion and personality, I will be watching.
I’ve never climbed in my life. I have no idea what’s hard or “easy”. I watch you bc you’re a great guy and you are really entertaining and you make really nice videos… Don’t worry We’ll be there
You inspired all of us to climb, now its time for us to inspire you! I will still continue watching your videos no matter the type of content you create as long as its what you love!
you dont get to almost 2m subs doing hard climbs, you get there by doing great content and personality. Your most viewed videos also show that people care the most about that. Many people started watching you without having climbed before, so they cant even tell a difference that much. I often play your videos without even looking at them because listening to you is relaxing. Dont feel pressured to do hard climbs and keep up the great work
Hey Magnus ! You don't have to fear our judgement. We are NOT watching you to judge you at all (in this matter, you're way better than most of us would never be). We are here because we appreciate the quality of your content, what you do and who you are. Your dedication is what leads us to support you in return. I even remember the good old days of the numbered vlogs (and the voiceover mode which was very instructive). You're not the best climber ? We don't care :) You're the best in who you are as a person, for being yourself, for being true, to you and to us :) Even in the weak days, we stand 😁
Hello : ) I find it really nice that you show your process authentically, like all your different levels of energy in climbing. I think it’s really good to see this to understand that this is normal for everyone. Even more for me as a woman, as my energy level changes even more during the cycles. I personally find it nicer to see very strong/talented/fit people as the humans they are and not only their best achievements. I climb as well, and it’s valuable to see the process to achieve something. And also to see that you take care of your body. So thank you a lot for showing : ) I wish you all the best & lots of nice places for adventures!
Honestly, dude. I watch your content because of your love of the sport. Whether you're doing hard problems or easy ones, watching you climb at all is great. You share your thoughts in an interesting and genuine manner and your enthusiasm for climbing is infectious. What matters to me is that you're taking care of yourself when you need a break and having fun regardless of how in shape you feel. Keep climbing, Magnus. We're happy to be along for the climb :)
Min 12 år gamle sønn startet å klatre pga av deg. Og jeg blir motivert og det beste med deg er at du er deg selv og virker som en faen så fin fyr. Stå på! :)
I actualy watch you because i like your mood and the way you try your hardest. You’re inspiring and your videos are really well edited. Tbh i just like to Watch you climb anything, that can be hard, fun, easy, whatever. I used to watch your first vlogs and i loved to see you train in different ways. Lead, bouldering, just training,… you’re just talented for making those videos! I hope you’ll keep enjoying doing this for a while, and please do anything you like, that’ll always be interesting in my opinion
Love to watch your content for you being just you! Honest, down to earth, modest!! You are great! The best channel to watch, whether interested in climbing or not.
Honestly Magnus, I just watch because I like you as a person! And it's as much a pleasure for me to watch you flash hard boulders and experience your joy as it is to feel your frustration with you working through easier ones, as you think aloud. Really, it's just nice to see and hear from you! Hope and pray you are well. 😊
I completely agree.
Yep I’m just here for good climbing content, and this is the best I’ve found
Exactly how I feel too, and why we'll always be here for his videos!
Completely agree with you!
Yup. I mean, I know I'm not the only one who watches his non-climbing content, so easy/intermediate/hard is irrelevant.
Like many others said, yep, it's about you, your personality, your way of communicating :) I personally don't care if they are hard or "easy" boulders :)
I think he should try ka chava
His "easy" boulders ... 🥴😜
.
bro all the things he calls easy are impossible for me 😂
That's right, as long as you drink AG1 it does not matter. 🤤
Start climbing we all believe in you
I'd watch a shoelace video from Magnus for sure
You should definitely start climbing, it's such an inclusive and rewarding sport.
So accurate
Now I changed to 2-3 weeks (young people 3 weeks) of full (training) loading and after that a week with half loading to avoid the break downs.
.
Agreed! Still love the high level ones (inspiring), but these are educationally inspiring
@@noone3734 Put on a tinfoil hat and shut up.
@@FishOnRock I was about to write a similar response to this guy but yours cannot be beaten. 🤣
@@FishOnRock lmao what a fucking w response
I'd love to see more pure climbing videos from you, with other people, alone, hard grades, easy grades, technique explanations, breakdowns and anything in-between!
Your transparency is inspiring Magnus! We’ll always support you on your journey of self improvement and self discovery: :)
Love the type of content where he talks about it with passion and it's just him without the public...a lot more comfortable
I’m not a climber yet I love watching your videos. I think what draws me to your channel is the effort you put into everything you do. It’s super inspiring. You make everything look so easy and you are so humble about it.
same
you should try! have been climbing on and off for a while but have introduced some friends to it who have never tried it before and most of them have bought memberships to climbing gyms :). Its not super intimidating and theres always lots of easy but still fun climbs you can start with. You would be surprised how much progress you can make in a few sessions
I started 5 months ago 3 days a week since
Hey man I’m just starting to! If you’re in the SOCAL area reply I love climbing with new people
@@compost4life287 where is SOCAL I'm in New zealand
This comment deserves more than a thumbs up. While having a nice max grade is cool and all, I really enjoy the human side of this channel
"Life isn't always about performing your best, it's also about how we perform during our worst." i need to remember that
@@terribleted9529 I agree with the general sentiment, would just like to add that the primary reason for Magnus having off-the-charts sub count has most to do with the fact that he started really early, and commited his usual 200% to it.
10000% agree!! i love magnus' climbing content
those long "climb everything at the gym" that he uses/used to celebrate view milestones, mmmm... * chef's kiss *
Looking forward to the 2M-'trespass' !
Same
His climbing videos are what I enjoy most, really.
Perfectly stated!
At least he managed to climb on TH-cam 😄
gnarly grinding work ethic, yup, spot on!
i am not a climber. im 44. you are entertaining. you make everything look easier than they are. you are humble. you are driven. you have done some of the craziest challenges like the military ones and the marathon. you are wild. it's all taxing. i say do what you love and film yourself doing it.
I watch you for your personality, you showed me people in this community are open and friendly & encouraging. Cheering your friends on during a climb, bringing in new climbers, giving advice. Post what your heart desires, we're here
I know right!
Kinda cringe ngl
@@fallenangel5268 It's cringe to give others words of encouragement? I get being an asshole is more commonplace now, but apparently being a good person is now a negative thing
@@derpyduck5088 You have issues my friend and need validation to feel stable =)
Love the casual bouldering Magnus-talking-to-the-camera videos, like the old days! ❤
Yeah this. Normally breaking the fourth wall makes me super uncomfortable but with you, because of how you come across, it really works and is calming. Makes me feel like a climbing friend in the gym.
I just love watching you climb because you seem to love climbing and having fun doing it. You being so strong and good at it is just a nice bonus!
Yes, this!
Glad to have you back to climbing! You got me into climbing back in October, obsessed now!
Couldnt have said it better
started about the same time and glad to see a new vid as well, doing 6A so far so yeah, these look more relatable than his other stuff
I missed this videos so much! Thanks for the video Magnus :)
I appreciate your hard work producing content for us.
yo man big up this was a real video must of been hard to upload, mad respect, this was a super relatable video
I honestly love watching the lower grades! As someone who struggles hard on V4-V6, they are super relatable and helpful to watch
Bro he's literally world class, like top 100 in boulderers world wide. He's 99% all of the time
Magnus is the best damn climber I've ever seen, His style is unique and his pace is fun to watch. This is the peak of youtube climbing
As a non-climber, I still have followed you for years. Sure, watching you solve the hard problems is fun, but just watching you be great at what you do is why I stick around. And your positive attitude regardless of challenges is contagious.
Hopping straight on a V12, absolute animal. Magnus is and always will be a machine!
Magnus at his worst is still way better than me at my best
We watch because you have some of the best climbing content out there!
Getting back is always faster than the first time. Dont worry about it, have fun.
Nice video magnus, it definitely takes me back to your earlier videos.
watching Magnus always makes me feel better. you are such a big inspiration for me!
Ouch! 🙂
I climbed there earlier this week, the Slab of the Week was one of the easiest I've seen, but I still fell on the final move (I'm fairly short, so the reach over left me out of balance).
It matters not how hard the problem is, it only matters how hard you try 📈 Thank you Magnus~
Rubbish. That's loser speak.
So glad you're back making climbing videos! I recently went back and watched all your old videos and that got me into climbing after 6 months ago
You are one of the best climbers out there, keep on training and never give up!
I watch you bc you’re a great guy and you are really entertaining and you make really nice videos…
Don’t worry
We’ll be there
You, mate, are my inspiration to climbing. Seriously.
Love the content, hate the pain, wish you the best.
We don't care :) You're the best in who you are as a person, for being yourself, for being true, to you and to us :)
Even in the weak days, we stand 😁
You don’t have to be the best in the world to be amazing at something, and that you certainly are. Enjoyed the video, got me pumped to climb.
