Back in the early 90s I reloaded for my .308, and I came up with a load that that gave me a five shot one hole group at 100 yards. My rifle was a Remington Model 700 BDL hunting rifle. I still own that rifle today, but I no longer reload.
I bought a Remington 700 in .243 at Wal Mart years ago, less than $400 including the scope. It was my first rifle and still my favorite, a real tack driver.
I’d say you’re already dialed in for that shelf bought round. Deer season is coming up quick. Set the box used aside and don’t touch the rifle until then.
I just ordered 500 rds of it and found your video after the fact. When your learning how to sight it scopes ect you use a lot more ammo. Lol. Looks like good stuff for sure. All 3 out of my 4 riles are. 308.

Then consider the embarrassing and inaccurate performance of that fancy pants / $200 a box plastic ammo that you tested a week or so ago. No contest, primo results for the out of the box 308 Norma and an overall saving of $140 -170 in the process. Case closed, that plastic and alleged "precision" fancy pants ammo is little more than a marketing fantasy and / or con job. Again, great vid ✔✔✔

Norma ammo is damn good hunting ammo for the price across the board in different calibers....have never tried it on my chassis Rem 700 though. Generally I shoot 168 gr Fed Matchkings. I have some .308 Norma at this time and will give it a try. Thanks Hoot..

This particular Norma ammo, did not work well in my Ruger American. Now, the Norma Dedicated Hunting, 150 gr. in .308, different story entirely. Unfortunately, they have discontinued the Dedicated Hunting projectile.
Boy, that 700 sure doesn’t look like the one I bought 22 years ago. That’s pretty sexy. A precision rifle is my next buy. I’ve been looking at the Christensen Arms MPR, but that one is going to take a lot of begging with the wife. Gonna have to hope the home I’m building comes under budget. Maybe this one would require a little less begging. 😂 Looking forward to your 1000 yard shots with that baby!
@@davidedwards8940 yep, Ruger does have a nice one. Savage has one I like as well, the Elite Precision model. The Tikka T3X Tac A1 has also been on my watchlist. If it were up to me, I’d live in a mobile home and buy them all, but the wife wants a silly house 😁
What's the barrel length on this one? I'm busy with a 7.62x39 Howa project and trying to decide how short I should go with the barrel, purpose will be a general plinker and pig gun. No barrel length restriction where I'm from so thinking 11".
I was hoping to see the true velocity group like that. The Norma seems to outperform it. So after your reviews of the true velocity and paying $10 a shot what are the advantages of true velocity?
I bought a Mossberg Patriot .308 a month ago and have never shot it yet. It has the 1:10 in twist. I've been buying these Norma Whitetail 150 gr. ammo at my local Academy because they are relatively cheap and available most of the time. Before I deep into buying these ammo by the thousands, are these good ammos for my rifle ? Thanks in advance .
Are you worried about consuming lead in game from using lead bullets? I've switched to only copper bullets after reading a few alarming write ups and study's.

I’m not positive, but they appear to be a traditional cup and core soft point. I have some in 6.5 CM.

@@ngirardo86 my groups were off by 3" between using a lead sled and shooting off a bipod.
Stringing shots are usually a bedding issue. Maybe an action screw is loose, assuming this is a fully floated barrel.
I tried Norma whitetail in my new 6.5 and best I could do was about 1.5”. I don’t handload so time to try something different!
