Being "prepared" is about keeping your family safe during an crisis. That "crisis" can be simple like a power loss. It could be complete and widespread like a hurricane or snowstorm. Or personal like job loss or health crisis. Or chaos like a national emergency. Without power and food storage, just for a little while, that puts you and your family in the middle of panic situations that may not be safe. Finding food sources when grocery stores could be mobbed, or worse, people fighting over food. It could put you in situations where they dont have warm or cool shelter, or access to first aid or clean water. You dont need a doomsday shelter to be a prepper. Just store for a brief emergency so you arent at the mercy of others when you dont want to be out there.
