Honestly. Megami Tensei 2 is the most hardest to find it’s original OST, even an extended version. Like, only a few tracks have been posted on TH-cam separately, let alone its original famicom versions. Sure the SNES renditions from Kyuuyaku Megami Tensei are there but the NES does it better. Someone please upload an extended version of all the tracks please 🥺

I like devil survivor 1 music but I can appreciate why someone wouldn’t, great tier list overall imo
devil survivor ost is pretty good, but it gets annoying on the ear after a while, especially the battle theme.

As someone who has the P5 soundtrack as my favourite ost of all time, their placement makes a lot of sense. The soundtrack's pretty different from SMT OST's.

I agree with pretty much everything except for P3, the good tracks like changing seasons feel like a splash of cold water they're so good. The ambient/ story tracks are weak tho

While I can see the general opinion on Redux new OST being bland and all, what your opinion on Womb of Griefs dungeon theme, specifically? I feel like I need to ask because it was probably the only song in both the original and Redux that stuck with me (outside of battle themes).
One of the determining factors we had was remixes, arranged versions and how much new music was in the game. I think Womb is not that strong and a little off the vibes from the original, on it's own it's a fine song but not in the context of the game for me

Like my 15th time I watched this. I disagree with so much but laugh like every 2 minutes because the dynamic y’all had was great. Devil Survivor 1 sounds good in the og or Overclocked. I’m so not into whatever the fuck Meguro was doing with Strange Journey despite loving orchestral. Hopefully he tightened his shit up with Re:Fantazio.

Some of shoji meguro's best work for me is the first raidou game, strange journey and both digital devil saga games. I would consider nocturne but i have to agree with what you guys said. A lot of the good songs from nocturne are just ruined by just the addition of unnecessary instruments or sounds. Staff roll is completely ruined by that electric guitar and songs like normal battle ~town~ are ruined by that terrible ass voice that sounds like a dog barking
Nah it has its place with the town battle and the battle themes as it is unique but I can see most disliking the OST, it is an aqirrured taste
Personally, Pull the Trigger from Persona Q2 is my favorite megaten song

Y'all did DeSu 1 kinda dirty, sure its not all bangers and there isn't that much of it so it does get repetitive, but Demon of Darkness and Deep Night alone keep it out of D imo. Garuda is also not offbeat at all idk what that was even about. Its in 4/4 so its not hard to count and I did it just fine. Sunset is also pretty nice.
Bro arcsys music does not sound the same. Gear does not sound like blazblue, which does not sound like p4au. They do a good job of differentiating them.

Solid C tier, only tracks I find memorable is the Level up theme, the reinterpretation of the nocturn track that plays during the demi-fiend boss fight and nothing else.
TMS is the best of the SMT game's I've played and the soundtrack for encore should be in s teir
