What's the difference of pulling it in the winter verses spring. Is it the flavor or sweetnes? I'm so excited to try this! We've got some growing wild here in Oregon which is surprising to me. I didn't think they grew onver here on the West coast.
Thank you for the video, I recently just found some. My dad was telling me he used to harvest sassafras when he was younger so when I seen the leaves, I knew I had something good.
Local honey tastes real good in Sassafras tea. & I'll leave the root in the tea pot to cold brew to get stronger, tasts more like uncarbinated root beer.
Never know you couldn’t drink a lot of it… as a kid my grandfather would make big batches and put them in water bottles and I’d down at least 2 bottles a day 😂😂
You forgot tip#1, make sure to wear camouflage while hunting sassafras. Otherwise you may spook it! Great video thanks for the info
I've used sassafras before but never pulled any in the spring. Mine was always in the winter

Great video, thx
And my sassafras root is an orange red
The sassafras I harvest is always located near a pond..Or gravel pity
One shouldn't harvest anything next to the road the county uses chemicals....
Got that, but not on these gravel roads here in this part of the country. Thanks for watching.
@@meandyououtside gumweed???
Did you buy that tree from the owner? Or did you steal it?
It's on the side of the road...
