    A lot of people have problems with not just their jerseys but just their apparel in general. Colors fade, emblems and numbers fade or fall apart quickly

      Fanatics apparel is complete garbage. I keep hoping but every item I buy looks terrible in a matter of weeks.

      I'm in my 40s, and a Fanatics Blue Jays t-shirt has been one of a handful in my life that developed holes in the arm pits. And it was after a couple wears/washes.
      Any other brands, including fast fashion "low quality" have lasted much longer. Never again with Fanatics for me.

      Two washes on my fanatics shirts and the letters and number already have multiple cracks. And this is knowing their shit so light wash on cold and mostly air-dried.

    As a hockey and nhl jersey fan myself, this was an awesome video. From my experience When washing my nhl jerseys, i've always used put my washer on gentle cycle, cold water a little of your favorite laundry detergent and then let the jersey's air dry.They come out perfect every time. Would love to see a video of how you would take proper care and maintenance of your jerseys. Thank you a lot. Love the channel!

      Air drying is critical to keeping them look as good as possible. I usually hang them on a dresser drawer and then put a fan on them.

      I basically do the same as you do but I add two tablespoons of cleaning vinegar as it seems to help and neutralize the detergent smell.

    Pro tip: Dry clean your jersey’s, don’t wash. It doesn’t remove signatures aswell.

  • @huskyunchained
    @huskyunchained 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

    I removed the crest from my Starter jersey because of the bubbling issue. Discovered that they use felt behind the logo to give it that puffy look/feel. If you wash those jerseys in a machine, the felt moves around behind the logo and bunches up. You can't iron that out, but you can fix it if you remove the logo, fix the felt behind it and stitch it back on.

    Oh, the current Mitchel and Ness, they look okay in certain pictures, but in person, they are as bad as or worse than some fakes I’ve seen. I saw a Hull Blues clown jersey by them at the team store, and I could write a dissertation on all the things wrong with it. And they were more expensive than the CURRENT NHL jerseys.

      Exactly why I didn't buy the '06 Brind'amour jersey they did. Jersey looked OK, but the crest, numbers, nameplate, and patches were cheaper than anything Reebok did. And they wanted $250-300 for that thing.

    When I lived in LA, one of the coolest things I did was had custom jerseys made for a Beer League team I founded. The jerseys were made by Bobcat Athletic, who at the time had the contract to make jerseys for several NHL teams, including the Kings and the Lightning. Bob was an awesome guy, and the quality of the stitching was superb. My jerseys got delayed because he was making jerseys for both teams playing in the playoffs, so he never charged me for the work (only the materials). Absolutely stand up guy. If you're in LA and need jerseys, check out Bobcat Athletic, I heard Bob is still making jerseys.

    Not a jersey collector, though I have a couple, but just wondering why, if the "authentics" are supposed to be the same as worn by NHL players in NHL games, they can be worn and washed 82 times a season in NHL games, and take the beating they get in NHL games, without falling apart, but if a fan buys one and washes it a couple of times, it does fall apart.

    • @RRaquello
      @RRaquello 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@fantasticvoyage262 So that means "authentics" really aren't authentic. I always took "authentics" to mean exactly the same as the players wear, in games which is why they were so expensive. I guess not.
      I have one "authentic" that really seems to be authentic. I got it out of pure luck because I was in Boston shortly after the Gardens closed and they were trying to get rid of the stock in the fan store. I found a Ron Francis Pittsburgh jersey for $25 and it was so beautiful I bought it even though I'm not a Pens fan. I mean, for $25 how can you go wrong?
      It had the fight strap and embroidered letters & patches on the shoulders, but I've never washed it because I've never really worn it. Maybe once or twice in 30 years. So I don't know how it would stand up to washing.

    • @fantasticvoyage262
      @fantasticvoyage262 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@RRaquello Correct as far as Adidas goes. Everyone before them made the on ice jersey that the players wore. But Adidas refuses to sell them. The semi authentics they make are still fairly good quality. But not what the players get. Fanatics will sell pro stock this year.

  • @fantasticvoyage262
    @fantasticvoyage262 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

But both my Adidas and my Fanatics ones somehow have had issues with peeling numbers and peeling A’s, and that was before I washed any of them. My mom’s Adidas one had the same issue. One thing you have to be careful about with some older CCMs is everything is just glued on so age can weaken that stuff, i had a jersey i had to iron the shoulder patches on pretty often.
    Some fanatics jerseys are definitely nice than others the ottawa centennial i had as well as the calgary heritage classic have good logos on them but i know with the breakaways thats more of an exception than anything, I'd like to grab tampa's new alternate because it seems like it would have similar logo work.

    The Orioles traded for a pitcher at the deadline.
    His second time pitching for the team and his fanatics jersey was falling apart mid inning. I cannot wait to watch the disaster we have with these cheap ass jerseys in live play for a contact sport

    Pretty much all my jerseys i own are Adidas but i do have one reebok and one ccm.
    But i do have probably the fakest looking jersey of all time. An "adidas" nashville predators jersey.
    The logo looks like someone took it and flattened it in adobe, The sleeve numbers are tiny, and the fight strap is Iike half an inch long, and the only reason i bought it is because i wanted a Subban jersey with the 2017 patch and it was one of the first ebay results. But adidas didn't make the jerseys during the 2017 finals, reebok did. So i have the ugliest fake Subban adidas jersey with the 2017 finals patch.

    My local Lids sells an Adidas labeled Throwback 1980s Leafs jersey (the ones with the sleeve-length stripes), with SUNDIN 13 on the back. Sundin never wore that jersey, even! Not even for any sort of heritage, rhrowback, or even alumni game!

      Yeah, the Montreal Canadiens, New York Rangers (post 1929), & the Detroit Red Wings (post 1937) are definitely the exception to old school (pre Original 6 era) designs being hopeless.
      That being said, the Seattle Metropolitans design is a lot better than the Philadelphia Quakers design, any of the Pittsburgh Pirates designs (especially the 1929-1930 one) & the Hamilton Tigers designs (especially the 1920-1921 one)...

    With your massive jersey collection do you have a way to keep track of them. Example by leauge, division, home/away, numbers? I have a t shirt for every team and have them sorted alphabetically and divisions
