It does look so good. For the Hurricanes Reverse Retro, it doesn't make sense as it is based on their current away jersey which began in 2019 and the orange NHL logo was long gone.

Those Kings jerseys are awesome. Love the purple and gold with the early 90s era logo. The Kings have never had a bad logo or jersey though. I say this as someone who isn't a Kings fan.
As a Detroit fan the last thing I want is black on a Red Wings jersey. They should follow in the footsteps of Montreal in respecting their incredible classic design
Was under the assumption that the grey in the leafs 2020 jersey was for the blue jays … or maybe that was just how I rationalized them using grey … but absolutely love this years leafs RR jersey!

I agree with you about the VGK retros. I have the 2020 and I love it. I like the 2022 (glow in the dark! Whee!), and I really like the black, but TBH I prefer the red (for the Wranglers reference).
The 2022 Vancouver Reverse Retro is my favorite. Had to get that one with the 2022 Detroit. I’d like to get the St. Louis and Toronto 2022 RR jerseys. I get Winnipeg is overusing the original Jets logo on alternates, but I prefer that logo over the later Jets logo. I get the jet is supposed to be a delta wing design and has the trail behind it, but the design of it always reminded me of a nipple from a baby bottle as a kid and cannot unsee it.
@@SuperStrik9 I do like the Leafs RR for this year, especially now that I got one. I like the felt crest, it’s something not many teams utilize, but the ones that do, do it right. Like Columbus on their cannon logo sweater. Probably one of my favorite Adidas sweaters even though I am a Wings fan lol. I’m looking forward to a Arizona 2022 RR that should be arriving tomorrow. I had to get quite a few this year since I missed out on all of them last time around and have a hard time finding any I like in a 52 or 54. I probably would’ve got more jerseys had I bought blank ones, but I had to get mine all customized because it’s nice seeing the fonts and designs some teams use for their numbers and letters that help add to the design. IMO they help add to the aesthetic. It’s funny because I live in an area in Indiana where hockey is not popular at all after living in Detroit for 30 years, and I always seem to get questions about my jerseys from curious older folks or people with no knowledge about the game in general. One guy thought the ‘22 Vancouver RR was a minor league team and how it was odd the number was only on one sleeve. Then he said “hockey is not a thing at all around here, you must be from one of those northern states.” After I told him I’m from Detroit and half of my family is Canadian, he asked me what the hell I was doing in small town Indiana 😂

In fact I plan on ordering a Gretzky Racers jersey along with a Ciccarelli North Stars and a Gordie Howe 70’s Whalers and Shanahan 90’s Whalers jerseys. I’ve got a Lanny McDonald Rockies jersey from them (ordered it without the name on the back) and the quality is pretty good.

The Leafs RR sweater is gorgeous. I don't get understand the hate it gets. I've hoped for them to release that exact sweater for two decades now. I'd love if they would brought back the white version of this sweater and made them their primary home and aways.
As a die hard NY Sports fan out of the New York metro area, Tri-State Area NY/NJ I did managed to get 3 Reverse Retro 2.0 jerseys of my local hometown teams, Rangers, Islanders, Devils. For the Rangers Reverse Retro jerseys I do like both but I gotta go with the 2.0 Reverse Retro jersey over the 1.0 Reverse Retro jersey because they added the red on the sleeves and also added their own blue on the jersey the 1.0 Reverse Retro jersey is ok but sucks they didn't add the red on the sleeves it looks like a plain jersey, for the Islanders I gotta go with the 2.0 Reverse Retro jersey over the 1.0 Reverse Retro jersey why because they bring back the Fisherman sorta the Fisherman logo looks so good in the Primegreen sucks that they didn't add no teal, no waves, and no Lighthouse on the shoulders really bummed about that the 1.0 Reverse Retro jersey is a copy of their home jersey they darken the jersey and switch the stripes orange on the bottom, white on top, finally the Devils it's kinda hard which one I like better but gotta go with the 1.0 jersey more love the green which everyone calls the Christmas jersey the 2.0 jersey is nice but trying to figure out what are they based off the Kansas City Scouts or the Colorado Rockies or both teams combined.

watching you try to decide which Kings RR you liked more was great. They are both excellent jerseys, for sure. The selling point for me, for the 2022 Avalanche RR, was the number font (which is sadly missing from your jersey). I don't know when Colorado abandoned the font they used when they came to CO in '95, but it's an excellent font and looks so, so good. I keep hoping someday they'll bring the original numbers back. (at least the 'C' and 'A' are still the old font on their regular Home/Away jerseys). and yes, do a poll! I love a good poll. :)
Love love this video. Those Nordiques and Whalers uniforms are pieces of art. The light blue Canadiens might be the finest uniforms ever in all of sport.

Autocorrect wanted me to say that I love taking pills. 😊 Anyway I like both of the Avs sweaters but I leaned towards the older one which had the Nordiques logos with the Avalanche color scheme. I was a Colorado Rockies fan the first time my uncle took me to a game when I was a little menace to society. And when they left for New Jersey in the middle of the night I was a Colorado Flames fan! Then the Denver Grizzlies came to town and kicked buttocks with the Avs coming the next year. I would think that the New Jersey Devils should be the rightful users of the old Rockies colors but that’s my opinion. Thanks for another great video my man. 🏒🥅🚨
The Canucks one is terrific, but I believe 2020 was the year they brought back the Skate jersey, and I obviously love that one, having started my fandom at the age of 8 in 1990. My parents were never fans and I was sadly homeschooled, so I had to figure all that out for myself. Everything of value that I learned, I learn on my own much later than I should have. I remember in the late 80s I had a Canucks t-shirt/pajama set with the skate, but I didn't know what it was all about. My dad just said it was a "hockey thing." He never explained what that was because he was never interested. Obviously, discovering hockey fuelled all my social interaction and gave me something in common with the outside world, so I have a fondness for the skate logo that goes far beyond 1994. I also believe that 1992 team to be the best I ever saw, 2011 included. They were so deep, especially on defence.
A few years older, and not home schooled, but just about the same for me. My parents did not like sports (but supported me playing) but I seemed to be the only hockey fan in the schools I went to.
@@csolivais1979 it’s a very lonely feeling. And when you’re disabled, there aren’t any hockey options. I can walk, but not for long. My dad used to fat shame me because I found it hard to find exercise options. I was a competitive swimmer and barely maintained my weight.
I’m an artist/ graphic designer and I had to pause the video for the new Lightning jersey. I just stared at it. From a design perspective, it should be laughed at, but it works. It shouldn’t work, but it’s beautiful. It’s the epitome of so bad it’s good.
Ehhh I think it would've been respected more if the base was black throughout as it would've complimented the scene of a actual thunder storm very well as right now the black sleeves look very out of place to the base white
On Vegas, the first was a throwback to the Las Vegas Thunder, while the current one is more of tribute to the city as it existed in 1995. Lettering based on the fairly new (at the time) Excalibur Hotel & Casino, and neon hadn't yet had it's swan song. I really wish you'd have shut off the lights and hit the 2022 jersey with black light to show it off.
A fun video comparison! Once again showing where tastes are the same (big wins for purple, dislike of too much grey), and where they very much differ as I like the gold/yellow jerseys of the Preds and Blues, as well as preferring the OG Bruins one compared to its RR2 version
I’d love to know what you think about the Sabres 3rds this year. Obviously not the reverse retro but definitely a reverse. I can tell you locally they are a huge hit here in Buffalo, they win in them and they remind all of us of the Hasek glory days. I own a late 90s original and bought the new one. They cleaned up the lining and sleeves and in person they truly are spectacular. I would love them to become our regular 3rds.
I'm kind of with you on Canes RRs. I didn't mind gray Whalers as a design, especially with some others going to legacy teams, but this time around the retro wasn't there, especially when the white version is still being worn. Really wish we'd have gone white or silver og black, but we also had that plain red and the white with red shoulders we could have flipped too.
As for Montreal Canadiens, you are right, it is a "Expos colour" not a "City colour" like they pretend. I live in Montreal and I have never seen that colour on anything city-related. But I did see the Expos wearing that a lot in my youth...!!!!
I agree with Shannon that I love the 2020 St. Louis Blues Reverse Retro better than the 2022 version. I do like the Predators 20 RR better because of the material used for the silver parts of the jersey and there is more silver to break up the yellow on the jersey. I would pick 22 for the Sabres because of the Goat Head as the main logo over the cross sabres.
I totally agree with Shannon on the grey in the previous retro Leafs jerseys. It should've been white. As a Leafs fan I'd love an 80's retro but I know it'll probably never happen because Ballard. I have a real soft spot for those jerseys because it's when I became a Leafs fan (86-87) as a kid born and raised in the Toronto area.
As a die-hard CBJ fan, I have to agree 100% Shannon....our 2022 one is fantastic. I can't stand our old red ones with that goofy logo, as well. Also, with the Sharks and the Blues jerseys, I have them tied. I love both jerseys of both clubs and absolutely cannot pick a favorite over the other.
I much prefer the pens black R&R that they use as their third jersey this year . Almost like a black out jersey besides the numbers and letters . Super clean with little hits of yellow
As a wild fan, I must say that when the new jerseys were released, thought it was kind of lame to just make a home version of the last RR, but they show up on the ice a lot better imo
I'm a Vegas resident & fan. I much prefer our red jersey over the glow in the dark one. I get people like the gimmicky & flashiness of it because "its Vegas", but it just feels too gimmicky for me. I might be in the minority on that, but ah well. That's just how I feel. and sure, put a poll up for the jerseys. Maybe it'll turn out I won't be alone on that after all lol
Will say it until I am blue in the face. The rangers should have taken their 85th anniversary “New York” Jersey and flipped the colors to make a cream-white version for reverse retro. I may be the only one who wants it, but my goodness do I want it.

I think part of the problem with the Lady Liberty jersey is that they did both a blue and white version for home and away so you can't really reverse it. The 2021 jersey is slightly different but not really enough. At least they did something different with the 2022 and made it the current colours. That being said they should have just done it in white and called it a day. I would give it to the 2022 jersey as well for the same reason Shannon did, at least they did something more different with it.
Anaheim is definitely a reverse retro. Their original design with current colors. I keep on seeing people say they wished it was the eggplant color..i’m like no then it’s just a throwback. Or when i see the Bruins should’ve done black..right because the logo would not be completely lost. I like 2.0 St. Louis more than 1.0, Senators 1.0 more than 2.0, Predators 1.0 more than 2.0, Blue Jackets 1.0 slightly more than 2.0, The Kings 1.0 slightly more than 2.0 & Sharks 2.0 more than 1.0.
Love seeing the side-by-side for each uni - as noted in the review, the 2022 Blues RR is... garish with the yellow, but I'm still happy with the novelty of seeing the prototype logo make a few appearances on the ice. Sidebar on RR items - has anyone had any luck or have recommendations for where to find RR hats? I've been looking for a fitted or snapback hat for a few of this year's RRs (Capitals and Jets, namely), but haven't seen them on NHL Shop or many other sites. Thanks!
LA with the Crown is beautiful. The Sabres demon Goat Head in their traditional blue and gold is nice. The Islanders with the fisherman makes me want to eat fishsticks. Florida's in the powder blue is sweet, and you could substitute a golf club for the hockey stick in late spring.
Detroit fan here. Kinda wish they just made black stripes white with detroit in red, then it would be a proper reverse retro. But they’re probably just testing to see fan reaction with black on a jersey. It looks fine, but a simple red base with white stripes would’ve looked a lot better imo.
Note about Calgary's reverse retro...the sleeve stripe narrows to meet the collar in the back, rather than being consistent as in the front, so to me it looks a little weird, almost reminiscent of the Flyers jersey

Toronto's 2020 Reverse Retros were disappointing for a number of reasons. But they didn't have to be. The Leafs had used a shiny silver on their shoulder patches before in the 90s and 2000s. They could have been alright if they want with that silver colour instead of a gross and depressing grey.

I agree that the 2020 RR for Buffalo is better, and it's amplified when you include the entire uniform, with the pants, socks, and gloves. Buffalo's in 2020 was a very nice combination, whereas the 2022 combo is wayyyyy too much white.

I WILL add two notes: 1) Not every jersey looks good with the orange NHL shield. 2) 2022 crests and shoulder patches are nicer since they moved to Primegreen materials. I didn’t take these two things into consideration.

The selling point for me, for the 2022 Avalanche RR, was the number font (which is sadly missing from your jersey). I don't know when Colorado abandoned the font they used when they came to CO in '95, but it's an excellent font and looks so, so good. I keep hoping someday they'll bring the original numbers back. (at least the 'C' and 'A' are still the old font on their regular Home/Away jerseys).

Autocorrect wanted me to say that I love taking pills. 😊 Anyway I like both of the Avs sweaters but I leaned towards the older one which had the Nordiques logos with the Avalanche color scheme. I was a Colorado Rockies fan the first time my uncle took me to a game when I was a little menace to society. And when they left for New Jersey in the middle of the night I was a Colorado Flames fan! Then the Denver Grizzlies came to town and kicked buttocks with the Avs coming the next year. I would think that the New Jersey Devils should be the rightful users of the old Rockies colors but that’s my opinion. Thanks for another great video my man. 🏒🥅🚨

The Canucks one is terrific, but I believe 2020 was the year they brought back the Skate jersey, and I obviously love that one, having started my fandom at the age of 8 in 1990. My parents were never fans and I was sadly homeschooled, so I had to figure all that out for myself. Everything of value that I learned, I learn on my own much later than I should have. I remember in the late 80s I had a Canucks t-shirt/pajama set with the skate, but I didn't know what it was all about. My dad just said it was a "hockey thing." He never explained what that was because he was never interested. Obviously, discovering hockey fuelled all my social interaction and gave me something in common with the outside world, so I have a fondness for the skate logo that goes far beyond 1994. I also believe that 1992 team to be the best I ever saw, 2011 included. They were so deep, especially on defence.
A few years older, and not home schooled, but just about the same for me. My parents did not like sports (but supported me playing) but I seemed to be the only hockey fan in the schools I went to.
@@csolivais1979 it’s a very lonely feeling. And when you’re disabled, there aren’t any hockey options. I can walk, but not for long. My dad used to fat shame me because I found it hard to find exercise options. I was a competitive swimmer and barely maintained my weight.

I’m an artist/ graphic designer and I had to pause the video for the new Lightning jersey. I just stared at it. From a design perspective, it should be laughed at, but it works. It shouldn’t work, but it’s beautiful. It’s the epitome of so bad it’s good.
Ehhh I think it would've been respected more if the base was black throughout as it would've complimented the scene of a actual thunder storm very well as right now the black sleeves look very out of place to the base white
On Vegas, the first was a throwback to the Las Vegas Thunder, while the current one is more of tribute to the city as it existed in 1995. Lettering based on the fairly new (at the time) Excalibur Hotel & Casino, and neon hadn't yet had it's swan song. I really wish you'd have shut off the lights and hit the 2022 jersey with black light to show it off.
A fun video comparison! Once again showing where tastes are the same (big wins for purple, dislike of too much grey), and where they very much differ as I like the gold/yellow jerseys of the Preds and Blues, as well as preferring the OG Bruins one compared to its RR2 version

I’d love to know what you think about the Sabres 3rds this year. Obviously not the reverse retro but definitely a reverse. I can tell you locally they are a huge hit here in Buffalo, they win in them and they remind all of us of the Hasek glory days. I own a late 90s original and bought the new one. They cleaned up the lining and sleeves and in person they truly are spectacular. I would love them to become our regular 3rds.
I'm kind of with you on Canes RRs. I didn't mind gray Whalers as a design, especially with some others going to legacy teams, but this time around the retro wasn't there, especially when the white version is still being worn. Really wish we'd have gone white or silver og black, but we also had that plain red and the white with red shoulders we could have flipped too.
I really want to pickup the Canucks reverse retro jersey, I love the style but unfortunately I just can't justify the price

As for Montreal Canadiens, you are right, it is a "Expos colour" not a "City colour" like they pretend. I live in Montreal and I have never seen that colour on anything city-related. But I did see the Expos wearing that a lot in my youth...!!!!
I agree with Shannon that I love the 2020 St. Louis Blues Reverse Retro better than the 2022 version. I do like the Predators 20 RR better because of the material used for the silver parts of the jersey and there is more silver to break up the yellow on the jersey. I would pick 22 for the Sabres because of the Goat Head as the main logo over the cross sabres.
I followed along and I personally gave the edge to 2020 16-15. I think both years had their share of amazing and questionable jerseys

I totally agree with Shannon on the grey in the previous retro Leafs jerseys. It should've been white. As a Leafs fan I'd love an 80's retro but I know it'll probably never happen because Ballard. I have a real soft spot for those jerseys because it's when I became a Leafs fan (86-87) as a kid born and raised in the Toronto area.
As a die-hard CBJ fan, I have to agree 100% Shannon....our 2022 one is fantastic. I can't stand our old red ones with that goofy logo, as well.
Also, with the Sharks and the Blues jerseys, I have them tied. I love both jerseys of both clubs and absolutely cannot pick a favorite over the other.

As a wild fan, I must say that when the new jerseys were released, thought it was kind of lame to just make a home version of the last RR, but they show up on the ice a lot better imo
I'm a Vegas resident & fan. I much prefer our red jersey over the glow in the dark one. I get people like the gimmicky & flashiness of it because "its Vegas", but it just feels too gimmicky for me. I might be in the minority on that, but ah well. That's just how I feel.

I think part of the problem with the Lady Liberty jersey is that they did both a blue and white version for home and away so you can't really reverse it. The 2021 jersey is slightly different but not really enough. At least they did something different with the 2022 and made it the current colours. That being said they should have just done it in white and called it a day. I would give it to the 2022 jersey as well for the same reason Shannon did, at least they did something more different with it.

Leafs this year were less clunky. Calgary's are both good. Vancouver and Winnipeg did fine.
Anaheim is definitely a reverse retro. Their original design with current colors. I keep on seeing people say they wished it was the eggplant color..i’m like no then it’s just a throwback. Or when i see the Bruins should’ve done black..right because the logo would not be completely lost.

Love seeing the side-by-side for each uni - as noted in the review, the 2022 Blues RR is... garish with the yellow, but I'm still happy with the novelty of seeing the prototype logo make a few appearances on the ice.
Sidebar on RR items - has anyone had any luck or have recommendations for where to find RR hats? I've been looking for a fitted or snapback hat for a few of this year's RRs (Capitals and Jets, namely), but haven't seen them on NHL Shop or many other sites. Thanks!

Florida's in the powder blue is sweet, and you could substitute a golf club for the hockey stick in late spring.
Detroit fan here. Kinda wish they just made black stripes white with detroit in red, then it would be a proper reverse retro. But they’re probably just testing to see fan reaction with black on a jersey. It looks fine, but a simple red base with white stripes would’ve looked a lot better imo.

Note about Calgary's reverse retro...the sleeve stripe narrows to meet the collar in the back, rather than being consistent as in the front, so to me it looks a little weird, almost reminiscent of the Flyers jersey

Toronto's 2020 Reverse Retros were disappointing for a number of reasons. But they didn't have to be. The Leafs had used a shiny silver on their shoulder patches before in the 90s and 2000s. They could have been alright if they want with that silver colour instead of a gross and depressing grey.
Rockies is great, but Nordiques is THE BEST Reverse Retro.
Minnesota's are absolutely beautiful too.

I agree that the 2020 RR for Buffalo is better, and it's amplified when you include the entire uniform, with the pants, socks, and gloves. Buffalo's in 2020 was a very nice combination, whereas the 2022 combo is wayyyyy too much white.
