      I’m still working on figuring out the cover. Right now I’ve been cooking with a meat thermometer to ensure temps

    First thing popped into my head before you ever mentioned it, was no cover. But that is a very unique, portable design. Up date us on more cooks without the cover

      So I actually got a really nice Bluetooth meat thermometer for Christmas and it is solving that problem big time. Of course there are all sorts of lid covers with handles as options but haven’t used one yet. I think high wind would be biggest problem with something like that.

    Hello from Ouray! And, Happy New Year to you!
    Our Outdoors RV travel trailer finally arrived! We are heading on our first trip at the end of the week to get to a warmer climate to do a solar install. The Dry Campers will be doing that down in South Padre Island.
    We are part time frequenters. By that, we will do 1-2 week boondocking trips monthly in CO and the immediate surrounding states. We will do this while I still work.
    So, we are in the market for a grill. I won’t use this upcoming trip as a gage as we will be relocated during the day while they do the install. But, I would like to get one for our first, for real, boondock trip; which will be in February.
    Have you used a Blackstone esque type grill that is a griddle, in the past. If so, was curious on any of your feedback for a comparison of grill vs griddle. Or, does the nomadiQ have a griddle attachment?
    (Edit…I see your griddle link)
    I really liked your review of this model. Thank you for sharing it!
    Safe travels

      Hey!!! Thanks for watching. I plan on buying the griddle attachment for myself for cooking certain foods but I have a blackstone as well that stays at home. I’m just not that big of a fan. I prefer the regular grill for actually grilling. The griddle is great for certain foods and that’s why I’m going to get the attachment but I’ll be able to do grill on one side and griddle on the other.

      @@WhyNotRV hi there. Thank you for that input. I think what we will do is get a trip or two under the belt and see what type of cooking we wished we were doing outside. Fortunately, it is the winter now and it would be too bad cooking inside, aside from the moisture.
      Thank you very much, again. Those Blackstones seem to be the TH-cam rage currently. You just highlight to keep your options open and to go after what satisfies the requirement.
      Safe travels!

    What do you think of the grill now after 5 months?? We are a FT family of 4 and looking for another solution to our Blackstone 17” which is a little bit of a pain…would be interested to see what you think of it now?

      I love it. I constantly use it. Mainly grill steaks, bbq chicken, ribs, corn and the occasional squash and zucchini. I did find a blackstone melting dome at Walmart that’s rectangular and fits this grill almost like it was meant to be. I actually plan on doing a follow up video in the next month or so about it all.

    Would've been nicer if they had built the Propane inside like the Q thane grill was. I still have a brand new Q thane grill

      I have not heard of that grill before. I’ll look into it

    Notice it is 2-burner - does it seem sturdy enough to use only 1 side? Concerned that uneven weight could cause balance issue.

    • @WhyNotRV
      @WhyNotRV  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I would say you could definitely just use one side when necessary. Unless you’re putting on a 10 lb roast lol.

    Is there room to store the grease trays under the grates for travel/storage? I can see those easily lost or forgotten.

    • @WhyNotRV
      @WhyNotRV  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If you get the neoprene sleeve like I have, there is little straps that hold the grease trays up against that. However, yes, there is room underneath the greats for the traps if you want them there.

    How have you liked your grill since you first got it? Any issues with it not having a cover? Thank you.

      I love it. I have been using it at least once a week. I bought a blackstone “melting dome” that’s a big rectangle and it fits the grill almost perfectly. Able to get higher temps needed for searing a steak or something.

      @@WhyNotRV Thanks. I ordered one yesterday. I couldn't pass up giving it a try given its compact size and minimal weight.

    • @WhyNotRV
      @WhyNotRV  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Congratulations!!! I want to say the melting dome was around 20-40 bucks. They also have smaller ones that you could buy 1 for each side of the grill. All depends on how you use the grill.
